@@TheRealKylaB yes! I was nervous about how my how was going to look in the beginning. To my surprise everyone loved and they ask me questions all the time. It’s going amazing I had it colored after my first full year no issues. I use the Carol’s Daughter Wash Day Delight Rose water. Rose water and Aloe vera juice my go to in a spray bottle. Loving this journey! You’re hair looks AMAZING!
Like you I have thin hair but these Sisterlocks have me looking like I have a thick head of hair. I just passed my 3.5 year mark in December. I still have some curly ends but recently cut a lot of them off for a more uniform look. Now I look like I have layered locks 😁 your locks are flourishing and beautiful keep the videos coming 😍
I watched your 1st video & 2.5 years look amazing on you….looking forward to seeing your 3 year anniversary… I’m a year behind you on my journey & loving every minute ❣ I’d love to see what a braid out looks like on your locs now…
I love your hair/ journey so much you inspired me to start my UA-cam channel once I installed my sisterlocks last month! I can’t wait to see my hair grow and flourish! x
Hey Kyla your Sisterlocs are gorgeous!! I’m 26 months Sisterloc’d and still loving 🥰 my journey. I’ve been watching your videos since the beginning of your establishment wow 🤩 your locs are growing and getting thicker. I had to trim my ends due to bunching (fine thin low density hair). But my length is about the same as yours. I can’t wait to see your 3yr growth.
I’m 27 months in, the back seems to be locked but the front still has loose ends. I don’t notice shrinkage anymore either, definitely have some hang time. Your babies look great boo!!!! 😍😍😍😍
I’m a month in on my SisterLocks journey! I locked my 4C thick hair. The best decision ever. Yours look so good! I’m anticipating mine starting to lock 😊
congrats on 2 months now! take pictures throughout your journey. I find that is the most helpful way in this process. you can see the changes when you have pictures to compare.
I think you’re beautiful and so is your hair! I also have fine, gray and heat damaged ends. I have had my locs for almost 5 months now and I’m not ready to cut my ends off yet. But maybe when I get to 2.5 yrs like you!! Yes!! I would love to see more styling videos! Thank you!
Your hair looks great! You def have more volume, which is so interesting. I assumed at 2 years our hair stops swelling, and your last update you mentioned losing volume. I'm hoping I continue getting a bit more volume through my 2nd year as you have. I reach two years in March! Thank you for sharing!
Isn’t it? I assumed my hair was at maximum volume already. Don’t get me wrong, I am happy with it at every stage anyway. So the volume I had a few months back was fine, but I am pleasantly surprised and happy to see that my hair is still changing. I really enjoy watching my hair change. It’s the most interesting part about locs to me. Part of the reason I started doing them is because I like to see how different the journey is for others. I hope you continue to have a beautiful loc journey. Happy (almost ) 2 years!
Congrats!!!!🎊🎉 Your locs look so full and gorgeous. Now you've got so much volume I don't know if you feel that your hair is thin anymore. As for me I'll be 2.5 years on the 17th of February so we both got our locs installed around the same time 🥰🥰
OMG you are so beautiful and you hair is (as them kids say) ON FLEEK!😂 Im 6 months in and my coiled ends are starting to swell. I love the volume😍 but im anticipating the DROP 😁
Hello Kyla, Kylah here and I have a few questions. First I love your videos and content. I found you right after my installation and am so grateful. Do you have a video on your hair maintenance? Do you also have a video explaining why no products? And lastly a video on combatting buildup??? Thank you for your content, it’s a blessing!!!
Hey there! Your videos encouraged me to get my sister locs. I really like them. I'll be 1 year loc'd next month and have so many buds at the ends. Was this your experience too?
You have to get a retightening every 6-8 weeks. Depending on your hair type/texture this could take 2-5 hours and the cost varies. If you go to someone who charges by the hour, let’s say $50 an hour. Your cost could be $100-$300 every 6-8 weeks.
Girl, shoulder length. Lol. I really want a bob. I’m waiting for my shorter hairs in the front to reach my shoulder before cutting my hair into a cute little bob. I’ll miss the curls, but I don’t want my hair to become a lot of work. I loc’d it for convenience and long locs look like more work than I am willing to do.
Hello! I’m right with you! I’ll be 3yrs locd in March.. I have the same type of ends and I wondered should I just leave them alone or cut. Thank you! I enjoy your videos!
My Sisterlocks installation was last month/year (December 2022)! My only regret is not getting them installed sooner! Where’d you get the length t-shirt from?
Love this! You truly are my motivation. Ok so I've noticed my scalp often smells sweaty a day after shampooing. I'm still only two months in and am concern that I have to deal with sweaty smelling scalp with locs. This is discouraging. Can you please let me know if this is normal and since you use nothing but shampoo on your locs...how do you keep it smelling fresh throughout the week? How often do you shampoo? What can I use on scalp to keep it Smelling fresh?
Thank you Kerry 😊. My hair smells like the shampoo for a day or two, but after that it doesn’t smell like much of anything. Then around the 1 week mark it has my natural scent. And around week two it probably smells like a combination of my house, my kitchen, and my natural scent. You may need to change your shampoo or dry your hair after you wash it.( with a hooded dryer or one of those bonnet dryer attachments for the hand held hair dryer. What did your loctitian or consultant have to say about it? And do you have regular microlocks or sisterlocks ?
@@TheRealKylaB I'm currently using the sisterlock shampoo because I'm only two months in w fine hair. My loctician gave me a peppermint shampoo but it's doesn't leave any scents in my hair. My hair being so fine and short (5inches) dries fairly fast. I just noticed at random times throughout the week when I rub my scalp, it smelled like sweat which causes me to wash more often. At some point I experimented with not using the locking spray bc I thought it was causing it. I even tried putting scented oil on scalp but same outcome. Now I'm considering sebreese to clean the scalp that way I dont have to keep wetting the hair. So that's why I asked because if this is normal I may have to tap out of the beautiful journey. Thanks for you advice
I love your lock and hopefully mind will look like yours in the future. I just started mind Two ago. How do you keep it neat and all the lines are clean and clear?
Thank you. I actually don’t do anything. It’s a perk of having thin/fine hair. My scalp is always visible. Even when my locs are 10 weeks post reti. It makes it look neat all the time because the scalp is always visible. Even when the hair is a mess.
Hi, I hope all is well with you. I have a question about 6 day old interlocked sisterlocs. Is night bonnets good to use with no banding or scrunch ties? Is water spray a no no during these first few days or weeks? I do drink plenty of water and I eat good. I sweat alot tho and my scalp itch is random I believe its my own hair sticking my scalp. Also my loctician left some of my hair out (unlocked). She missed some hair to in interlocking. What should I do?
I’m new to your channel and I love your sister Locs and my texture is the same as yours. I’m considering getting sister Locs. How many Locs do you have?
Now I understand why my ends aren’t locking. I stopped putting heat in my hair back in 2012 and was locked in 2020. So maybe I have color damage, not heat damage. Still, makes sense why it won’t lock at the bottom. People love the look bc my ends will stay curly. 🤷🏾♀️
I will be 2 years locd next month, and I SWEAR it’s something to the Sisterlocks technique that makes the grey hairs pop out of nowhere!! 😂😂 I had like 3 grey hairs and now all my edges have turned grey!! 😂
Sis, sorry, but our scalp needs nourishment. Like some tupe of oil, ex. rosemary, tea tree, jojoba, castor oil, just to name a few. At the stage you're at, it won't affect the locking. Your hair would probably grow faster too.
I don’t use oil in my hair. Can’t stand it. Even before locs. I haven’t put oil on my scalp since my undergrad days. It’s been 9 years. My scalp is/has been fine. But if it works for you, definitely keep using it!
Lol. And my hair is growing too fast for me as is. I don’t need it any faster. Just means I’ll have to cut it sooner rather than later. I love shirt hair. Long hair? Not so much.
@TheRealKylaB Yes, my scalp absorbs oil fast, but it also grows fast as a result of me oiling it, also for me , if my scalp is dry, it falls out, idk why so I have to. To each its own, I guess.
The closeups of your hair gives me life! Your hair is absolutely gorgeous!
Lol. Thank you !
Man, that grid is so clean! Your hair looks great!!!

Hey there! Your videos encouraged me to get my sister locs. I really like them. I'll be 1 year loc'd next month and have so many buds at the ends. Was this your experience too?
I didn’t have too many buds on the ends of my locs. Most of my locs have a inch or so of loose hair on the ends,
Please can you tell me about the overall maintenance… I avoid wearing my natural hair because I hate maintenance
