They can blame the endless shrimp all they want but they went bankrupt because they sold themselves to a private equity firm and all they do is strip businesses apart and sell off the assets for their shareholders to make a quick profit.
And let's not forget that in the span of 4-5 years, Red Lobster jacked up the price of Endless Shrimp from $15.99 (only $15 on Mondays) to $25 while also reducing the # of side items included from 2 to 1 AND started charging a premium for frickin' SIDE SALADS.
I thought this too because I’m like they have been doing it for YEARS. Why would they be going out of business all of a sudden? If anything this would be one of the busiest seasons for them. Thanks for the context!

I’m honestly glad they are. A lo t of other countries don’t have as big of portions as we do. Some also have bigger of course but charging us more for less is crazy

I just went to red lobster 3 days ago Saturday for that reason I got the Crunch-Fried Flounder Sandwich with Chesapeake Fries and cheddar bay biscuit
and it's taste good and also you order online you get 2 free cheddar bay biscuits when you order a entrée

I love seafood but I used go to Red Lobster for their chedder bay bisquits and their blackened chicken pasta. So delicious.
I’ve been going to Red Lobster for decades & I always order 9 X out of 10 the Ultimate Feast extra main lobster tail on the side & all fried shrimp 🍤 no scampi. Found out yrs ago Barack Obama orders the Ultimate Feast too. 💯😊

It’s crazy this is where we are now. Red Lobster closing. But I definitely point the finger at Endless Shrimp being the root cause. With rising prices etc how could they continue business like that?

Red Lobster could one day come back I mean back in 2012 Hostess had to file for bankruptcy and for about a year you couldn't buy Twinies, or Ding Dongs or any of those things, but about a year later Hostess came back and all their snack cakes were back on the shelves again, and still are to this day.

Cheddar bay biscuits are great but yea their food for sure is always lacking flavor (worst salmon, flavor wise).

I sick to the Admiral’s Feast and the cheddar bay biscuits, when I go to Red Lobster. Basic fried seafood and fries. Not the most seasoned, but with shrimp cocktail and tartar sauce, I get the job done.
I get nostalgic about Red Lobster 🦞 as a very young child like 4 year's old on special occasions me my parents sis go there. Me my lil sister get child's plate full of popcorn shrimp. Lol I remember it being super delicious but I'm probably wrong lol. Cheddar Bay Biscuits of course lol 😋. Dragon thia chili shrimp looked and sounds fire plus that key lime pie 😮 looove key lime pie and that thick crust 😋 .I didn't realize they had certain days for specials thanks King 💯🔥

Crispy dragon shrimp hits and biscuits. 🍤 Thing is they had it then got rid of it and then brought it back. Sometime in May endless shrimp ends. Chocolate wave with vanilla ice cream is good.

Red Lobster may survive for a time with fewer locations as it works its way through bankruptcy, but if they don't improve the quality of their offerings, they won't be able to compete wherever people have better choices. Funny how many people say they are sad to hear the news that many locations are closing and that they will miss RL, but when you ask them how often they would go, their answer is they haven't gone in years. Nostalgia doesn't pay the bills.
Jcpenny filed for bankruptcy a couple of years ago and there are still two where I live that have been the only two since 2004 and I still see commericals for them. Bankruptcy is not what it use to be.
The one where I live closed immediately when that announcement went out. Never had been there
I worked at red lobster everything’s frozen except for biscuits which someone is always freshly mixing all day and baking but I couldn’t believe it when I worked the truck and there were stouffers frozen items that we just heated up

Y’all have to understand that nowadays in business, as far as restaurants go, they don’t use real butter. They use something that’s an oil-based something & they’re calling it butter.
Also, they charge us a lot for seafood because seafood can be expensive to get, but we also have to realize that they often times don’t REALLY give us real lobster. What they do is they give you something called a #Langoustine or #Langostino that looks like a lobster but it’s not a lobster but yet they try to charge you lobster prices while actually giving us #Langoustine or #Langostino.

The problem with some of these chains is as society moves forward they do not. They stick to what used to work instead of investing in what is going to work or at least experimenting. Maybe I'm wrong as I haven't been to a RL in a long time. I will say I'm not surprised though

Used to go there for endless shrimp and biscuits, but that's the only time. I understand seafood is expensive, particularly where a lot of their restaurants are, but I'd rather pay more for quality, seasoned food. If I wanted seapak, I would buy seapak and eat it at home. We aren't going out out anymore.

it's crazy to think that Red Lobster is vanishing off the face of the earth, at least a little at a time. good news though, people have cracked the recipe on the Biscuits, so those wont disappear with Red Lobster.
that being said, i'm more a Long John Silvers kind of guy. i know it's greasy, salty and unhealthy, but spoiler alert to anyone not in the know, eating out IS unhealthy, cant change facts.
