"Hey I got an idea! Let's take the sharpest equipment and most aggressive techniques to care for the most sensitive part of the body!" -First dentist probably
Interestingly enough, Monster hunter GenU has a G4 quest called “The ‘ole Razzle Dazzle”, where you fight a Rajang and Deviljho in the arena. One of the quest rewards Is an ancient talisman, which is used to forge this exact armour set
I understand why those monsters that are elder dragons right now are elder dragons but yeah ukanlos and akantor I don't know. The only reason gore magala isn't an elder dragon is probably because he evolves into shagaru magala who is an elder dragon because of its unique ability and how mature and smarter it's become than its younger state.
odd2oul Yeah I'm aware of the whole 'not fitting in any other classification = Elder Dragon' thing, but I still find it weird how unicorns and octopuses are referred to as dragons. But Gore probably makes the least sense of them all. The game outright states it is too different from any other classifications, yet they refer to Gore as '???' instead of Elder Dragon. Yes, I realize this is for gameplay/story purposes (and I know I'm nitpicking, hehe), but I still think they could've handled the ED category better.
Haha, Gaijin's relaxing a bit with his videos, throwing in some funnies. Don't remember one since putting a screaming goat here and there some time ago. 10/10, would Wilhelm again.
I'd really love to see this guy with the verticality implemented! I'd love if the chasing it to the top part was re-implemented, but instead of just going straight to the top, you get to jump attack it on the way and mount it so you can get some extra hits in. And the fight itself would be so cool! Using ledges to jump over its tentacles, climbing the walls back up to the top after it goes back up... I'm getting excited just thinking about it.
+wally castagnir Wahrscheinlich, weil wir alle dachten, dass Gaijin das Video macht, um zu zeigen, dass Yama Tsukami in MHX ist, und in der Beschreibung steht "It's not confirmed yet."/ Probably because everyone thought that Gaijin did this Video because Yama Tsukami has announced for MHX. But in the description, it says that it's not confirmed yet. ;-;
I'm really enjoying these videos. I've never played Monster Hunter but seeing these sort of videos and passionate guides is making me really want to jump in to the hunt.
+nosapian677 Do yourself a favor and play the games. MH4U makes it very easy for newcomers to get into the game and believe me, the experience is greatly enhanced if you're fighting them yourself.
I affectionately remember the feeling of absolute terror when he did his mouth attack and all my friends and I were running for our lives so we wouldn't instantly triple cart.
Do Ceadeaus next! Keep this up gaijin, i think its great and nice to do this kind of videos. It's nice to know the lore and background of these monsters.
you should do more monster feature videos like this on all the monsters, it was really good and I don't believe anyone has done something like that yet.
I never got the chance to hunt this so THANK YOU SO MUCH for showing this off. :) I started hunting in monster hunter Freedom but I suppose. Didn't get far enough in whichever game this thing shows up
I love your channel man. I also really like this monster and want to get one of the games with him in it. Id like to see him in the newer games too even if it's like smaller younger versions of this creature
+gobblenater Yeah, i guess yamatsukami wasnt "exciting" so to say, but at least he actually attacked you and you didnt have to go through the obligatory 30 minutes of walking sim 2015 :S (walking to the tower was only 3 min X3). I wont deny however, that his design/weapons were good ^_^ (the paddle was still god, but hey, just saying :P)
I would really appreciate to see Lao-Shan next. I like these kind of little details with the name translations in your videos. And of course the other stuff you uncover :D
Thank you for this video! I made the armor for this monster in MH4U but had no clue what it was. Its awesome and pretty scary! Hope they add him back in eventually.
One monster that still disturbs me to this very day! To be fair, it sucking up whole forest and lakes alone is scary to imagine, especially if that forest contained your village.
Honestly they should had classified him and Nakarkos As krakens Instead of elder dragons Since classifying then as krakens Would had made them more unique
This one always reminded me of something from the Cthulhu mythos. Fighting this thing, especially with its insta-kills, made it like fighting an old one.
I like his longsword the most, the Dragonwood Cutblade has amazing Para, a little bit less than Najarala's but it has better sharpness and damage, plus the design is really cool.
If somebody uses a lifepowder at the same time Yama Tsukami is doing is ine hit kill attack you'll survive. If was the first quest my team and I started having lifepowders always at the ready. Atleast in MHFU.
I used to totally own him solo with a Lance and the Guard skills back in MHFU. You could even endure the instacart attack! Gravios X with Narga's Lance was my way to go at it, I'd love to see him back!
Actually, the Aerial Style might justify keeping Yamatsukami's fight as is - by giving him an abysmal mounting resistance at the start that makes him fall from a single jump attack, and adding vines to both its body and the inner sides of the rings (to make falling down or missing the jump less punishing) that can be used by non-aerials to jump-attack and mount it more frequently. Also, the jump move could be used to jump over his tentacles when he isolates you (as an alternative to flinching him to break free), and possibly even to jump onto him and place ant-dragon bombs while he's still floating (with certain attacks shaking you off, of course).
Considering it has no actual trees on it, just moss, I really wonder where it's Dragonwood material really comes from, really makes you think and will never unsee it...
His male armor set looks just like Shara Ishvalda's male beta set. I wonder if they drew inspiration from this set, or just liked the design too much to get rid of, so they touched it up
This would be a great elder dragon to appear in Monster hunter World at some point,.. with how fluid and free the hunters can move in it, it would make an exiting fight to be in!
I absolutely love this guy? I feel like it would be really cool if instead of a “fight” necessarily, a particularly large and ancient Yamatsukami appeared in a game like World/Iceborne (or whatever the next iteration of it ends up being) as an AREA - a floating, living continent, with monsters and other forms of life that have been evolving on its back in isolation for so long that they have become completely unique and different from anything on the surface world??? That would be so cool!
My theory is that it was originally a frog monster with whiskers but then I guess due to evolution it grew bigger and started to float, and becuase it could float it didnt need legs so its limbs grew really long and now it looks like an octopus. The reason I say this is becuase if you look at a monster like Tetsucabra, it has the same eyes and teeth, with a very short wide body and a big mouth. Not to mention its blood is red, and if you look at the tentacles it actually has feet with claws and fingers. It only looks like an octopus becuase it allows it to float easily and it doesnt need legs, and now it can use its long tentacles to anchor itself when it needs too, or grab food and pull it up to its mouth.
There was a hunt between this yama or another yama subspecies where you could have up to 16 players fighting it at once which i hope we see something like this in one of the mhw games
looks like the Yama Tsukami got inspiration from Mu Spores of the pathfinder bestiary. links for those that don't know what i am talking about, wiki page: pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Mu_spore image: vi.sualize.us/mu_spore_mikecorriero_concept_characters_picture_n8Vp.html (the wiki doesn't have a image for some reason)
Hello, fellow hunters. I have a question. So my friend lives in Japan and I live in the US. We all know how strict the region locked the 3ds is. So, we can't play monster hunter together. However, I have another 3ds. Am I able to mail my American 3ds to him in Japan from America do that we can play 4u together?
May I ask what game the footage is from? I've been trying MHFU and MHP3rd on an emulator to see what the older Monster Hunter games were like. I was taken aback by the strangeness in Portable 3rd that the confirm and back buttons are switched around (apparently Japanese games are like that), I'm too used to pressing X/A to confirm. I should probably go back to MH3U for a bit since the controls are similar due to A being where circle is on the PSP/DualShock controllers. Heck, I might even try the WiiU controller with it. I'd import Portable 3rd HD, but I don't know where to buy from and whether it would work on my plain old PAL region PS3. I hear modifications might be required to play it?
+mahius19 He says in the description that the footage was recorded with an emulated version of MHP2G (Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Japanese version) Though it looks really crisp and I'm not sure why, because when I play FU on my emulator, it doesn't look like that.
+RandomNPC Sweet, I've got my WiiU Pro controller working on my PC now, took a while and a bit off fiddling. The bad news is that my PS4 controller no longer works with DS4Windows, if I want to use it on the Emulator I'd have to undo all the fiddly stuff, which is a pain. But at least I'm now playing MHP3rd with the controls the same as MH3U. Feels great! I'm now wondering whether I can get the WiiU pro controller to work with a PS3 now? It would play well as long as the button map according to position. B to X and A to O, only the feel for the controls is required.
***** I don't actually own a legit Wii U Pro controller. I have two off-brand ones that are literally tiny Xbox 360 controllers with the nintendo buttons. I've tried using it on my computer, but I couldn't get it to work (which resulted in me getting an Afterglow 360 controller for my PC). I don't know if something is different about the brand name ones, but either way, I don't think you could get it to work with the PS3. You could always just use a PS3 controller for your emulating needs, that way you could have a controller that works for PS3 and the PC (though, only kinda, because most games don't automatically recognize PS3 controllers. Emulators do though).
you forgot to mention you can throw a tranq bomb at it when it does the wind tunnel (one hit KO) move and get it inside the tunnel it not only stops it instantly, it also tranq's it for a while.
This and nakarkos were the closest we got to Cthulhu.
Don't forget the great jaggi
@@wocky5724 great jaggi is like if thanos had 2 infinity gautlets and he was made of infinity stones
Don't ever say this name... Apex Great Jaggi haunted my nightmares!
I would want these in world
now I wonder what would happen if we combined the two
Imagine this in Rise. Similar to the current final boss, you use the environment or use the wirebug to get on top of it, to knock it down.
1:11 It literally floats from its own fart.
no.. rather its a hot air balloon
1:48 my dentist does this to my teeth too
mega blast I can’t freaking breathe it’s so funny 🤣
"Hey I got an idea! Let's take the sharpest equipment and most aggressive techniques to care for the most sensitive part of the body!" -First dentist probably
oh man i'd love a reimagined fight with the movement freedom that rise has brought with wirebugs!
Interestingly enough, Monster hunter GenU has a G4 quest called “The ‘ole Razzle Dazzle”, where you fight a Rajang and Deviljho in the arena. One of the quest rewards Is an ancient talisman, which is used to forge this exact armour set
Gore Magala -> ???
Yama Tsukami -> Elder Dragon
Akantor/Ukanlos -> Flying Wyvern
wat
You forgot kirin.
+Ghost Fart Jhen/Dahren Mohran
Rizanul Fikri Um, what?
I understand why those monsters that are elder dragons right now are elder dragons but yeah ukanlos and akantor I don't know. The only reason gore magala isn't an elder dragon is probably because he evolves into shagaru magala who is an elder dragon because of its unique ability and how mature and smarter it's become than its younger state.

10/10 would yamatsukami again.
Haha, Gaijin's relaxing a bit with his videos, throwing in some funnies. Don't remember one since putting a screaming goat here and there some time ago.
10/10, would Wilhelm again.
Yeah I realized I had been a little too serious lately so decided to shake it up a bit :)
So you had to become Iluminati ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Dat Wilhelm scream and Illuminati killed me xD
Are you ded now?
+Buetifull Persun Oh yeh. me ded Now. rated 7.8 by IGN to much ILLUMINATI
+Carmelo Anzaldi not a joke kid, do some research
+Carmelo Anzaldi Monster Hunter illuminati confirmed!!!!!!!!!!!!

With wirebugs in Rise this fight could be more interesting

+nosapian677 Do yourself a favor and play the games. MH4U makes it very easy for newcomers to get into the game and believe me, the experience is greatly enhanced if you're fighting them yourself.
I just started my playthrough of FU and this is one of the few monsters I dread fighting, along with Akantor, who was my bane in GU.
I love these kinds of videos! I hope you make more of these on older monsters from the series. Please do Lao-shan or Shen Gaoren.
+Noah Vincent Shen Gaoren, Daimyo, and Ceantaur: All crabs
Yet no scorpion monsters?
+Friday Night Memes There's one in Frontier, though.
(Nosferatu) well 2 actually.
MHX is geeting closer and while watching your videos I decided to learn japanese!
Domo arigato gaijin keep it up, cant wait to see your mhx videos.
I remember fighting this why isn't it in more monster hunter main series games?
I just fought him for the first time today in MHFU, he's such a cool and mystical monster, I would be all for seeing him in Rise again
I affectionately remember the feeling of absolute terror when he did his mouth attack and all my friends and I were running for our lives so we wouldn't instantly triple cart.

This was one of my all time favorite fights.
wilhelm scream ftw!
I'd like one of these videos for lao. he's always been so under appreciated
+gobblenater so you mean a whole video about how to heal insomnia? (no offense, but he was boring as all hell >.
Jack of all trades, Master of none. Well he made a video of yama so I don't think how boring a fight is is a factor.
+gobblenater Yeah, i guess yamatsukami wasnt "exciting" so to say, but at least he actually attacked you and you didnt have to go through the obligatory 30 minutes of walking sim 2015 :S (walking to the tower was only 3 min X3). +Jack of all trades, Master of none. Worst part: his tail. I DIED SO MANY TIMES XP
ah the old times!! Used to farm him for Dragonwood Cannon HBG to wreck Blos & Kirin. Pellet shots were overpowered & broken back then :)
I really want to fight this creature in rise, holy shit
3:18 *X Files theme starts playing*
I Know Right?
-WEIGHT!1!!1! Did u See That? xD
Pikori theres another one at 3:11
Yama Tsukami and Yama Kurai are probably two of my favorite designs. I don't know why, but flying cephalopod mountain just works so good visually
3:10 illumonati confirmed
I would really appreciate to see Lao-Shan next. I like these kind of little details with the name translations in your videos. And of course the other stuff you uncover :D
Thank you for this video! I made the armor for this monster in MH4U but had no clue what it was. Its awesome and pretty scary! Hope they add him back in eventually.
Always loved how odd and totally unique this pufferfish-squid-thing was.
3:09 That illuminati had me in tears
It is just impressive how much work capcom is putting into the music of the monsters.
Hunter: ‘hit monster with some wood’
Monster: ‘PARALYSIS’
YAMATSUKAMILLUMINATI
One monster that still disturbs me to this very day! To be fair, it sucking up whole forest and lakes alone is scary to imagine, especially if that forest contained your village.
I miss this monster hunter
Bring back Yama Tsukami MHWorld !
I miss this guy. It actually gives you the best pellet gun in the game that can easily decimate G-Rank kirin
Honestly they should had classified him and Nakarkos As krakens Instead of elder dragons Since classifying then as krakens Would had made them more unique
Cool vid, not sure how this escaped my notice!
I miss this guy
The armor for Yama looks great, but what the armor your character is wear it looks awesome
full set white fatalis
glowmymind thank u
Oh dear God that mouth.
This one always reminded me of something from the Cthulhu mythos. Fighting this thing, especially with its insta-kills, made it like fighting an old one.
in frontiers G8, it got a subspecies, which is not only moos covered, but has a whole forest on his body
3:18
Don’t you dare sneak in that Illuminati bullfango in here 😂😂
HAHAHAHA! nice catch
I like his longsword the most, the Dragonwood Cutblade has amazing Para, a little bit less than Najarala's but it has better sharpness and damage, plus the design is really cool.
Hope he returns. He is definitely my favorite monster. I give this monster 20/10 that's how much I love him
If somebody uses a lifepowder at the same time Yama Tsukami is doing is ine hit kill attack you'll survive. If was the first quest my team and I started having lifepowders always at the ready. Atleast in MHFU.
Wow! There is pretty sweet transition effect at 3:28
Cthulhu: cutting my head wont work -john-
Whoa. That things looks lovecraftian!
I used to totally own him solo with a Lance and the Guard skills back in MHFU. You could even endure the instacart attack! Gravios X with Narga's Lance was my way to go at it, I'd love to see him back!
But they made a better looking version in frontier called Yama Kurai.

This thing was terrifying when i first got to it!
I already forgotten about it...then it's mouth brings back it's nightmares
0:00 Yama Tsukami: ROOOOOOAAAR!!!
Me: 'Ello Beasty.
1:10 what game is that? how come it does not look pixelated at all?
He's playing MH portable 2G on an emulator.
@4:49 The second Frontier monster appearance in the main series. =)
Yama Tsukami for Rise, I want this guy back so badly.
WHO GAVE YAMA TSUKAMI A MOUTH
Considering it has no actual trees on it, just moss, I really wonder where it's Dragonwood material really comes from, really makes you think and will never unsee it...
Honestly, Yama Tsukami is most likely a primordial being that came into being long before Monsters or Humans.
We need this guy in Rise
His male armor set looks just like Shara Ishvalda's male beta set. I wonder if they drew inspiration from this set, or just liked the design too much to get rid of, so they touched it up
The most freaky monster in all of Monster Hunter games
This would be a great elder dragon to appear in Monster hunter World at some point,.. with how fluid and free the hunters can move in it, it would make an exiting fight to be in!
Loved that wilhelm scream 2:44 xD
I love that monster. I hope they bring it back.
Sigh doesn't look like we are gonna get this in World... next monster hunter game it is... hopefully
I saw that Illiuminati Eye on the A in his name during the theme! You can't fool me!
That scream caught me off gaurd. I dropped my fidget spinner....
Really hope this guy gets in MHX. I'm in love with it's design
You forgot to mention that you can feed it a tranq bomb when it opens its mouth to make it fall.
i really hope that yama comes back. now that frontier got another yama (an even older one i guess) i want him even more back ::)
I wish the Yama Tsukami we fight in Monster Hunter Freedom Unite was just a baby Tsukami.
hmm i think you did some editing there like the scream when yamatsu fell and the illuminati flashs...i like that, really funny xD
There was a hunt between this yama or another yama subspecies where you could have up to 16 players fighting it at once which i hope we see something like this in one of the mhw games
Idk if it’s him but there his the origin species of Yama Tsukami in Monster Hunter Frontier. He’s called Yama Kurai.
One of the first monsters i saw and i didnt even know until i played freedom unite
looks like the Yama Tsukami got inspiration from Mu Spores of the pathfinder bestiary.
