This video is such a blessing to me. I have wanted to start selling my creations for so long. I have never believed in myself enough to actually do it. plus, I didn't know how to start. I have ZERO support. Thank you so very much. I just subscribed to you channel! : )
This takes so much effort... I really want to start my own store, but I don't want to buy a lot of packaging supplies because I don't know if anybody would buy my stuff. What do you advise?
@Kristina KK: First off, I'm sorry for my bad english. Second, you can advertise your crafts on your channel. If many people start to ask about your crafts and considering/commenting about buying your crafts you can start your bussiness. Don't forget to announce your shop launch.
Kristina KK That's exactly how I started off- I didn't know that anyone would want to buy my charms either, but slowly more and more people started to and I've gone from restocks with like 10 charms to now having to make over 200 charms each time lol I've only recently started buying in bulk, so I suggest what I first did and only buy the few things that you need until you build up your business :)
Creative Rachy i am from India it's a total hard work I salute you and all the other people who puts so much efforts to start their own business I am a baker and I know how one has to struggle for orders at the start as I am still struggling with it yet I take orders through my instagram account but still being waiting for orders well I can just wait and hope for the best to happen and never lose hope and thank you so much for sharing this video of yours as I have never seen a video like this one and I really love your charms oh yes seeing your video's I too have started to make some charms but unfortunately I am unable to find any kind of pins through which my charms could be hanged no eyepin no head pins nothing I just don't know what to do.
This was seriously the most helpful video ever! This is the hardest part I think about owning an online shop and your tips and tricks are super helpful! Thanks for this great vid! ❤
Hello everyone! Thank you so much for all your support on this video- I'm glad a lot of you have found it helpful! To address all the comments asking "why is there nothing in you store?", my charms always sell out very quickly, long story short. Large restocks are announce on most of my social media and mini ones usually on Instagram. If you see nothing listed in my shop or everything is labelled as "sold out", chances are that you have just missed a restock or I am working my hardest behind the scenes to make new charms to sell for everyone to buy :) this means that most of the time my shop is empty, but I try my best to keep it stocked up regularly! I hope this explains everything and I'm sorry if I cause you any inconvenience x
I personally don't do any of the steps you mentioned when shipping out my charms. I package them very well, but then I just slap on the correct amount of stamps on the bubble mailer, and drop them off at the nearest letter box. I have shipped hundreds of charms and they always arrive safely. I'm not judging, just giving you some helpful hints to save you a lot of time. I really liked this video. Nicely done :)
Here in the UK, Royal Mail have a Drop and Go service - you have a prepay card which you leave at your local post office, drop your packages off and then later on they weigh everything up and charge the card :)
My mum sells shoes on her own store! This was so cool to see how you do these types of things because I was always curious to find out how people do this! I could never find out because my mum was always packaging them and bringing them to the post office at school
oh man, I haven't touched polymer clay in years but if I'd seen this back then I would have been over the moon! so many questions answered that I'd never figured out, thanks Rach 😄😄😄💕
I literally filmed a similiar video today how funny haha! This video is going to be so helpful for people! The width is the same here in the UK I send all mine as large letters too :D
You are Blowing up girl... I suggest, keep sending bulk packages, save up a couple thousand, rent a cheap little shop, fix it up really pretty but cheap!, like dollar store EVERYTHING cheap, but you are very creative so you can make it look "not dollar store" lol anyways, then you get a couple friends to help you package and be at the front desk of the store a few hours a day and pay them CHEAP, I swear you would BLOW UPPP! Good luck girl! Glad I found your channel. I looove your charms. I just started making clay things too. I've always loved clay and throwing but never knew you could make things without a potters wheel, so I am HAPPYYY ;P Your crafts are AMAZING!!! Me an you have the same taste btw... "Tropical, galaxy, the color Burple = Blue+Purple"my fav color", small little animals, EVERYTHING TINY!!! Have a good day ;)
This is fantastic for new shop owners! Next time someone asks me for shipping tips, I'm totally sending this link to them as well. Thank you so much for making it!
im in australia and trying to start a small creative buisiness but the workers are super rude and always try to upsale me to use a bigger box instead of the small bubble wrapped ones.... but now ive seen this im i bit more confident in how i can send my products! thankyou!!!!!
This is super helpful! I'm currently in the planning process for my shop, and I wasn't sure how I should package things. I've been searching through channels and Instagram accounts like yours but this is the first one I've found that covers shipping. Thank you!
Thank you so much for making this video! The thought of mailing items scares me a lot for some reason but after watching your video I feel more comfortable with being able to sell some of my jewelry online 😊
Hi Rachel, This video is so helpful, but I was wondering if you'd create a video about how you advertise your products and what are the best social media in your opinion?
While I never mad things to sell, I did sell a lot on ebay and Canada Post (while a rip off!), does have a website where you can register as a business and get discounts and do ship and click to Canada, USA and International. I actually found the online method MUCH less expensive than going into the post. All you need is a ruler and if you are shipping weighted items, a tiny scale so you can be fairly accurate with weight. This was a great video! Thanks for sharing :)
If any of you live in the us usps has free flat rate padded envelopes so it only 7.20 to mail anywhere domestically or internationally no matter the weight. You can also print shipping labels from their website so you don't have to go to the post office and can just pay online then put the packages in your mailbox on in a box next to your mailbox or you can even schedule for a truck to come and pick up the packages for free. I hope this helps 😊
After like a solid 2 years of me not watching your Vids I’ve decided to come back and damm I’m trying to restrain myself from buying like a bulk load of different charms cuz there so beautiful
Thanks so much. I'm a 21 year old with absolutely no clue on where to start when it comes to mailing anything and this really helped make the process much less intimidating. I suppose my biggest worry right now is buyers getting annoyed with me for not knowing how to do some things haha
Thank you for this video. I’ve been planning to open up my shop but I have too many ideas to choose from to actually sit down and put in the work lol.. currently moving to New York to help my family get situated before I start my journey. So again this was a lot of help and very good information.
I'm looking to start a business this year I want to make enough to cover my part time job as I struggle so much with it! So this is helpful thank you :)
This is sooo helpful. I'm just starting my polymer clay business, and wasn't sure what to do about postage. I'm in Australia too, so this information is totally applicable to me, and exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Rachy. =)
this is gonna sound silly, but i'm honestly so grateful for the 'pop the bubble wrap to make your packages smaller' tip LOL. it's so simple, but i feel like i would panic before thinking of it
You should do a video on how you started. It's been very hard for me, I opened an Instagram to get more customer and sales are really really realllyyyy low. So please do a video on how you started selling so much and how you got your customers and how you promoted your store
This is very helpful! All the questions I had about sending packages internationally were answered. Thank you very much for this information!! Also I love your videos keep up the great work
You can request a letter guage at your Post Office to check the status thickness of your large letters, his may only apply at Corporate Office, not Licensed, but ask anyway, request the cardboard guage be acquired for you. You have every right to request one. Very well done, Australia Post Offices usually prefer larger be than normal postings over the counter, outside their busy periods. Just ask your local office. If you are sending registered or tracked items, ensure they are lodged over the counter a good half hour or more, before mail closing times. Anyone with any questions should always ask their local Post Office. You are their customer and they are there to provide services to you.
This was so helpful! Thank you! Here in a few month I will be starting up my own shop of Rainbow Loom bracelets. I am very advanced in making them and I think this with help a lot. Thanks! 💕
thank you Rachy!!!! I was searching everywhere on how to package for my future store. (I don't k ow what to sell but I am sure I will sell something in the future) And I have options too for my store: Posters Inspirational quotes notebooks charms Or buttons
Some post office staff are absolutely lovely enough to let non-documents be posted as letters when under 2cm but some can be real serious... I've been told off a couple of times for sending non-documents as a letter even if it is under 2cm. :( I wish Aus Post postage is cheaper! So difficult to sell online these days for talented hand crafters because postage can be so pricey. Thank you for this video though! How I would pack too and triple checking just to make sure I don't send the wrong items or to the wrong address! XD
thanks for this, gives me ideas how I should go about nailing of my handmade cards to buyers, I have an etsy shop which is currently closed for now until I make more to sell lol
Wow, you sell so many charms! :o That's super cool. I like your trick to check if they're 2cm or less, it's very simple but effective! And the choice to use washi tape instead of normal tape is a good one - normal tape is too hard to take off. Since I sell via Etsy and Ebay, they create a pdf of all the necessary shipping info for me to print, and I'm able to pay for the shipping online (with a slight discount since I'm selling via their sites). It's rather convenient, and I like it despite having to pay sale fees on both sites as well as Paypal.
Woah it's crazy how similar our postal services are considering we're on different sides of the planet! In Finland it's exactly the same except we can only send packages from the actual post office :)
You don’t even have to go to your local post office there’s services where they can collect your packages regularly on a schedule date from where you want to them to.
So I was looking up how to package things cause I want to start my business making charms and stuffed animals. turns out this was awesome for me because it was about charms! thank you for the video! (btw I subbed)
It’s so funny how postal workers are getting so lazy these days lol. That’s they’re job and they get paid well to do it. When I ship any package, I make sure I get a tracking receipt so customers can’t say they never received my item. You can then give them the tracking number and check exactly where the package was left. So many people try that scam it’s ridiculous. Thank you for the video!
Thank you sooo much! I made a very long pearl chain (plastic) because people were saying how much they needed it! I’m going to sell different lengths. I have made charms too like angels and Strawberries. And bracelets and earrings so a lot of jewelry. I hope to sell it all. (They have clay on it hanging )
Hello! I love these, this is such an amazing business and i love how you spend your time working hard for your customers! I’m starting a polymer clay business with my frienf and was wondering if you have any tips? (Were only kids)
Or you can get away with sticking it in the actual mail box because it has a big enough slot to fit that size of package into and it can normally be found outside of post offices so some people can avoid shipping costs if they can fit it in there as mail. You can just drive by and drop them in the box. In the US we do this idk about other places but thats what happens here
This video is such a blessing to me. I have wanted to start selling my creations for so long. I have never believed in myself enough to actually do it. plus, I didn't know how to start. I have ZERO support. Thank you so very much. I just subscribed to you channel! : )

Pink Banana Crea I think I need to learn a lot as well
Pink Banana Crea me too!
What do y'all sell?
I didnt know people had to ship themselfs on etsy
What is ur shop called?
This takes so much effort... I really want to start my own store, but I don't want to buy a lot of packaging supplies because I don't know if anybody would buy my stuff. What do you advise?

Cute little things I have a video on how to make your own eyepins, all you need is some wire and a pair of pliers to bend it :)
So helpful! I'm disabled and am researching starting a home business.. These are all great ideas and your stuff looks really cute!
This was seriously the most helpful video ever! This is the hardest part I think about owning an online shop and your tips and tricks are super helpful! Thanks for this great vid! ❤

Happy success! Your charms are adorable
I am so happy your online store is doing so well.

Creative Rachy I talk more about branding and supplies rather than posting but maybe I'll do another video on that 🤔😂

could you please make a video on how you set up your online store! and why you chose storenvy over etsy
A lot of people choose Storenvy because the site is also free as a seller, whereas you have to pay Etsy a bit of money
Bonni I want that as well
True i look it up etzy and yes u have to give some commition from your sells.
im in australia and trying to start a small creative buisiness but the workers are super rude and always try to upsale me to use a bigger box instead of the small bubble wrapped ones.... but now ive seen this im i bit more confident in how i can send my products! thankyou!!!!!

I'd just like to say that its really nice seeing an Australian one of these with items I actually recognise aha
I’m so grateful that you exist 🥺
I learned that this requires human interactions. I'm socially awkward so...
Yeah, that's a thing.
CoolAwesomeEevee same
CoolAwesomeEevee 😂 lol
AcєLуииє are you being sarcastic?
No??
I wasn't referring to the social awkwardness.
Hi Rachel,

One of my dreams is to have my own company.
Well I wish you all the luck for it then❤
How’s it going now?
That thickness tool is genius!
you're so systematic! this is great :)
Right!
This was helpful in understanding the back end of owning an online store.
That tip about the envelope was really clever to ship internationally. Thanks for sharing!
If any of you live in the us usps has free flat rate padded envelopes so it only 7.20 to mail anywhere domestically or internationally no matter the weight. Woah the whole shipping part seems so time consuming and complicated I appreciate your dedication and effort :)
thank you so much I'm going to be starting an Etsy shop soon and this helped ease my anxiety a lot
Literally first youtuber I've ever seen make this type of video!! Well done :)
Thanks so much. I'm a 21 year old with absolutely no clue on where to start when it comes to mailing anything and this really helped make the process much less intimidating. I suppose my biggest worry right now is buyers getting annoyed with me for not knowing how to do some things haha
When are u going to stock up again because I really want one but ur website says coming soon

I'm looking to start a business this year I want to make enough to cover my part time job as I struggle so much with it! So this is helpful thank you :)

What if you're a minor? My mom was wondering because she encourages me to sell my stuff online but idk. I'm 13 btw :)❤️
miffyLOVE just get someone who’s not a minor to send them off but apart from that you can do it alone if you want :)
Siesie thank you :)!
Try using depop, I started selling on there when I was 12! And I made like £100-£200 once I got good!
Also you don’t need an adult to post your items but I recommend you get your mum to help you to start
Can you tell your mom to support me too? My mom just doesn’t believe it’ll ever work...😅
She is amazing and inspiring.

Woah it's crazy how similar our postal services are considering we're on different sides of the planet! In Finland it's exactly the same except we can only send packages from the actual post office :)

That was so helpful! I am thinking about having my own store so thank you so so so much.
My sister has a pendant shop online and she uses little patterned drawstring bags. The are very cute, you should look them up!
In the US we do this idk about other places but thats what happens here
Marshall Breanne Arnold 2 We do that in new zealand i think
This video was sooooo helpful!
0:59 She was watching (Thatcher Joe) LOOVE Them both so muchhh!!!!❤
Omg, what a lot of work!!!!!
Thanks for the video, it was very informative especially as I hope to open up a shop of my own some day. 💜
I love your charms! And i know that they can also be very fragile and it makes me cringe when i realize how they treat packages in the mail!
Very helpful tips! Thank you for sharing!
Legend says that if you're early-ish Creative Rachy will either reply or pin your comment.
