Have mercy, that really looks tasty and filling. I would love to eat that on a cold winter's day. Rice is good just by itself but that makes it over the top good. Thanks for sharing your meal and your Mom with us. Bless Kuma and his papaya.

Thank you to your wonderful mother for making the hayashi rice! Oishisou! I have not seen this mix before. I need to go look for it. Kuma was so excited when your mother started cooking the beef. His little nose was up in the air sniffing the delicious aroma! It must have tasted so good. I send best wishes to you both. I think your trip to Japan is coming up very soon, so I will also wish you both a smooth journey and a wonderful time there. Hugs! Thanks for the video, Niki! :-)

Awwwwww! It’s so nice to see your okasama cooking again! She’s got some mean knife skills! I will definitely try “kare noh shinseki!” I love how your mama called the Hayashi rice that! When we were growing up, whenever my okasama cooked pot roast and gravy, we always served it with gohan. Us kids would take it one step further and would sprinkle the top with shoyu. OMGEEE! So oishi! I so miss my mama speaking to me in Japanese! Domo Arigatou Niki no okasama-for the memories. ♥️ Thanks for sharing sister!

Do you think it makes a difference if you use beef broth instead of water, because I use broth for my curry rice 😯
