So glad Wolfe brought me here, your channel is perfect for me because I can't ever catch Wolfe's streams but this way I still get that competitive pokemon fix. Great content, keep it up! I love these unique teams that we're seeing lately, this meta is so cool!
I've been learning so much about how to play competitively from watching all your videos! You are very insightful in your analysis and show variety in your teams. Thank you so much!
The analysis in your vids is normally great but this one stood out to me with the team weakness explanation. Really helps me look at things with more depth when I’m playing 🔥
You are the only reason I am Master rank. Played Pokemon TCG for years; never played any comp VGC. Then i saw your videos and you made it look so fun with all the builds. I am just stunned by your knowledge and ability to pilot any of these teams. Thank you for the content.
At 30:20, the music changed to "someone terastalizes" music DURING the move select phase, and then Garchomp terastalized into a ground type. Is this just a coincidence, or could you use the gym leader music to check for whether your opponent is terastalizing while still choosing what you're going to do?
I haven't done any testing but I would assume Instruct interacts with Sleep in the same way it interacts with Truant, where it burns a turn of inactivity.
Love this video so much Aaron! Bellibolt has carried me through so many battles online! It’s so tank and electromorphosis can one shot so many things! Plus I gave it electric terrain just in case there are annoying spore users and it’s electromorphosis + STAB + electric terrain one shots everything. Thats cuz you can take it further with helping hand and terastyllizing too! And no one ever excepts the fatty frog to be the big threat
I'm here only to compliment that your videos are only increasing in quality content and you teaching us about each team's weaknesses gives us an insight on what to change to suit what we don't want to deal with on the ladder. Many pokémon this gen have unique abilities and they can do crazy stuff. I love this early meta!
I really like that you pick a new team for every video while everything is still so new in Gen 9! It showcases amazing variety AND your incredible skill of mastering new teams extremely quickly. Thanks Aaron!
just wanted to say thanks for another video, i always appreciate how thoroughly you review team choices and even turn-to-turn move choices and thought process. you have a particular skill at breaking down a very complex game into very digestible bites and it definitely ahs helped my own play. always excited to see a video of yours pop up on my feed!
Thanks for featuring my pal Oranguru in a team! Been one of my faves even in non Trick Room teams tanking Earthquakes and Discharges and using Instruct, love using it
Someone who is new to competitive Pokémon i really enjoy your views and your breakdowns on the teams ! I struggle with making teams and your videos help a lot ! Thank you!!
I think these team showcases are always awesome, and I think you do a great job at explaining the win conditions and modes of teams that you showcase. I’d love to see you create a team in a video soon. I’m interested in your own take on the format and what you’d run if you had to build a team for a tournament or something. Just a thought!
i usually watch these while im ev training (for raids.) takes me the 30min sammich timer for a full 6 party so these are so perfect honestly. thank you 💕
This is the sort of thing I am here for! Trick room shenanigans with Oranguru is peak. I'm glad Bellibolt seems to be a good fit for it also. 😁 Really like the rocky helmet amoongus play as well. I would like to play around with more rocky helmet mons in the future. Also your team analysis is great, and very informative. I think I would have just winged it without pondering my opponent's team haha it definitely makes me think more when I see these centralised meta teams.
Looking into the mechanics, I don't think Instruct actually helps wake up sooner, but with a caveat. Sleep is tied to a number of turns, I believe, and not a number of actions. The caveat is that if the Pokémon had moved EARLIER in the turn, then been put to sleep, then instructed, it might count that as the first turn. Would need more testing to be sure that it functions this way in Gen 9 too.
"Using an instructed move is a separate action, and effects bound to a Pokémon's actions are applied individually: for example, a Pokémon may hit itself in confusion, be asleep, or loaf around for the first of its actions, but execute a move normally for its second." I think instruct DOES count towards the sleep turn count.
@@BullRed07 But sleep isn't bound to actions, just turns in which an action happened. That's why I say it might count if you got slept after taking an action, then were instructed.
I just want you to know that every time I come back from work and see your posting a video it makes me feel joyful and happy. thank you so much please keep doing it i love your content
Haven’t been commenting but these videos are really useful, entertaining and you can feel the passion. Thank you for the content and dedication man. I rate belli 7/10 the charged attack on electric terrain goes crazy. Happy holidays to you sir
Bellibolt is a 10/10 EASY. Not only is it my favorite design of this new generation, it’s the first shiny Pokémon I caught in Violet version! Love it, 10
I love Bellibolt! I thought it was cute when they revealed it in that animated fake V-Tuber "show", but actually seeing it bounce and wobble ingame as it has this derpy grin on its face makes it so much better. It's just a huge beanbag and I love it. Gameplay-wise, I think Bellibolt is pretty underrated in doubles. Doubling your STAB option's damage after taking any hit is great already with its pretty decent bulk, but in doubles it also discourages spread moves, can heal with Slack Off when the heat is off it and become quite the comeback king actually, if the opponent doesn't have a ground type and ignored Bellibolt through the match. My most recent match just now was against this exact team and my usual gameplan of "soften special attackers with Snarl just completely backfired against Bellibolt, whose attacks actually get stronger even after Snarl. I only won because my initial Snarls all specifically missed Bellibolt, at which point, it wasn't super strong even with +2. HOWEVER, as only Bellibolt was on the field, not being able two twoshot it would have lost me the game, because it would suddenly do 70+% to my special defensive tanks.
I was about ready to try this team on VGC, have tested it in Pokemon Showdown and really wanna try it. I just hit master ball a few minutes ago with my current team, and I honestly feel like crediting your videos for all the help / guidance i've gotten, thank you for all you do Cyber! I finally subbed to you on this account and idk why I haven't yet 😂 keep doing you! Gonna be lurking in the comments for sure, super ready to grind to top 500 in master ball if I can. Currently just placed 41386th
Hey Aaron are you going to be making a teambuilding guide this generation? im having some trouble figuring out the process this time around with tera and mechanics.. thanks!
Wow game one was super hype! The perfect display of bellibolt's ability Nd overall potential to dish out madsive damage, while also being bulky enough to eat some big shots! That was so fun to watch! If pelipper had focus sash, i think the opponent would have won, also if youre pokemon stay sleeping 1 more turn, also opponent win. This is why i enjoyed this match so much. A little bit of luck, added to great team building/ pokemon setup, equals a fantastic match and great win. 👍
I found this strategy really early on and it flew me from unranked to master ball tier and to top 4000. One of the most unique and fun teams I’ve played with ever in Pokémon.
Iono did the same to me with her Bellibolt when I first attempted her rematch in game as what happened to your opponent in first match. I thought I'd KO her Bellibolt, but it survived and KO'd me. Afterwards I've held pure, unadulterated terror towards that thing. :D Thanks for the fantastic videos, I really enjoyed these strategies! Super cool and flexible team!
It’s a very common move and TM. Girafarig, Corsola, Altaria, Sawsbuck, Tangrowth, it’s one one of those really spread out TM moves. Definitely hundreds of mons who have been able to learn it.
It's actually very logical; 1. To spread to more Pokémon 2. 'To bulldoze' or '(name) buldozed through the store'. It simply means that someone rushes around, breaks shit or scared you senseless. A lot of animal Pokémon learn it ;)
Hey guys! bDarnandy here and today I‘m back watching another episode where he climbs the online VGC ladder in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and provides live commentary as he goes.
I really, REALLY love the aesthetic of Ice type Pokemon and have always wanted them to be more viable than they have in the past. Seeing a team actually utilize an Abomasnow, Baxcalibur, Cetitan trio absolutely blows my mind-- it's a combination I really wanted to work but figured having three Ice types was asking way too much in a format dominated by Gholdengo. Does this trio have potential outside of this specific team, or is this just a specific use case that's able to showcase the services of all three?
Oranguru and Florges will be really cool partners when Paradox Pokémon are allowed. Their Symbiosis abilities will be incredible next to paradox mons with Booster Energy.
Oranguru is a sneakily powerful Pokemon. Although other Trick Room setters - such as Bronzong, Indeedee, Porygon-2, and Dusclops - overshadowed it throughout Sw/Sh, Oranguru has unique utility in its movepool - including Instruct, which is a highly unique move - and range of abilities.
Love bellibolt 10/10. Using a similar setup w farigaraf. Parabolic charge over weather ball and max spatk. Also has hariyama for bullet punch electromorphosis proc or just heavy hits.
I do think instruct burns a sleep turn: "Using an instructed move is a separate action, and effects bound to a Pokémon's actions are applied individually: for example, a Pokémon may hit itself in confusion, be asleep, or loaf around for the first of its actions, but execute a move normally for its second. All actions that are not bound to a Pokémon's actions still apply once for the entire turn: for example, if a Pokémon has flinched, this applies to all of its actions for the remainder of the turn." -bulbapedia
the bolt beam coverage with the ice team is a great idea since ground and grass types f u over easily with bellibolt but it feels silly to say he deals little dmg and has low sustain; you can just run parabolic charge and invest in Spa and he deals insane damage and doesn't die even to a lot of double ups; also oranguru dark instead of fairy is pretty good vs some prankster taunts and with covert cloak you're pretty hard to stop
I caught Bellibolt a while back and never used him, now that I've seen his little jiggle I have to give him a 12/10. Also, these daily videos are IT, I couldn't wait for these games to come out just so I could watch you dissect it.
8:28 I really want to see a Floatzel team I’ve been doing some calcs and even Life Orb Water Tera Wavecrash OHKOs most meta mons even meowscarada unless it’s sash. Pelipper with Wide Guard is also something I consider being very good with all the spread moves right now
It seems like there’s less weakness policy focused teams in this meta compared to the later sword/shield metas (in fact for a while I wondered if they removed the item entirely). Why do you think that is?
dynamax allowed for a lot of really cool weakness policy techs because you took much less damage from your own super effective moves. Surf Dragapult w/ Coalossal was big but without Dynamax Coalossal takes a sizable chunk from Surf now.
Thoughts on trickroom for indeedee-f armouruge torkal and hatareena. Torkal is terra grass with solar beam to avoid spore and hit water. Created it and those four can be brought to almost any battle
Belli is my favorite pokemon in this gen so 10/10 rating is obligatory. Competetively it's probably closer to 6/10 but can work in certain scenerios. That said I found belli to be quite good addition to my team that covers for the indeedee+armarouge/TR/rain teams without any specific setup. With parabolic charge it can become really annoying to remove especially next to some distruptive mon slowing opponent down.
Seeing this team gave me an idea of making a team with a different wide guard mon, I thought about tropius with some setup of sunny day/trick room and solar power, unfortunately I'm not a good team builder lol
"Sleep prevents Pokémon from making a move for a random number of its turns..." (Bulbapedia) Bulbapedia also states about instruct:"Using an instructed move is a separate action, and effects bound to a Pokémon's actions are applied individually: for example, a Pokémon may hit itself in confusion, be asleep, or loaf around for the first of its actions, but execute a move normally for its second. All actions that are not bound to a Pokémon's actions still apply once for the entire turn: for example, if a Pokémon has flinched, this applies to all of its actions for the remainder of the turn." So i guess it doesnt burn a sleep turn as sleep ist counted per turn rather than per Action.
this team look really fun, i used to use something similar which abomasnow was not able to help much but i did not know about the weather ball option on bellibolt
I feel like assault vest or life orb on baxcalibur with ice shard over swords dance might’ve been stronger and probably would’ve helped with game 3. granted you’d likely have to risk icicle crash miss.
I like the part where Aaron plays the online VGC ladder and provides live commentary as he goes
what about the part where he provides live commentary as he climbs the online VGC ladder
One of the parts of his video, for sure.
Fr.
Same, honestly.
Timestamp?
So glad Wolfe brought me here, your channel is perfect for me because I can't ever catch Wolfe's streams but this way I still get that competitive pokemon fix. Great content, keep it up! I love these unique teams that we're seeing lately, this meta is so cool!
I believe Wolfe has VODs of his stream just fyi
Just click on the live tab in his videos to see previous streams
You don't miss out on Wolfe tho. He's so arrogant and promoted a scam for like 10 videos straight lmao.
Me too
I love that weakness addition being able to inform players on what to avoid is really nice of you!
Yeah! I liked that breakdown as well!!
That first game was insane. Great content, Aaron!
It makes me happy to see the channel and viewer growth, congrats man, keep it up!

I haven't done any testing but I would assume Instruct interacts with Sleep in the same way it interacts with Truant, where it burns a turn of inactivity.
Massive respect for sharing so much knowledge ever since ranked ladder opened
Nothing comes close to the satisfaction of clicking rage powder in front of a maushold and watching it slowly kill itself.
Love this video so much Aaron!
Bellibolt has carried me through so many battles online! It’s so tank and electromorphosis can one shot so many things! Thats cuz you can take it further with helping hand and terastyllizing too! And no one ever excepts the fatty frog to be the big threat
I love this team and you highlighted how unconventional mons can shine when built and played properly! Love the vids, daily viewer!
So much of Pokemon is about predicting your opponent's moves that if you run unconventional Pokemon you have an unpredictability advantage.
I'm here only to compliment that your videos are only increasing in quality content and you teaching us about each team's weaknesses gives us an insight on what to change to suit what we don't want to deal with on the ladder.

Love the weakness analysis of the team!
I really like that you pick a new team for every video while everything is still so new in Gen 9! It showcases amazing variety AND your incredible skill of mastering new teams extremely quickly. Thanks Aaron!
The weakness breakdown in the team review is so helpful. Thank you Aaron!!! Please keep this going for future videos
just wanted to say thanks for another video, i always appreciate how thoroughly you review team choices and even turn-to-turn move choices and thought process. you have a particular skill at breaking down a very complex game into very digestible bites and it definitely ahs helped my own play. always excited to see a video of yours pop up on my feed!
You're a complete legend in every sense of the word. Mad respect for everything you do. Wish you all the success in the world brother.
This team looks insane, I love the insane bellybolt and oranguru movesets
Haven’t even watch game 1 yet, but I love bellibolt design. it looks so funny and I love it hahaha.
The more in depth you get with all of the team analysis the better as far as I’m concerned, this was a great episode. I hope to see more like this.
Moxie boosted used this strat on showdown. Excited for this strat to be featured looks really fun!
I'm loving this series! The input you have is really helpful for those trying to learn the ropes
Thanks for featuring my pal Oranguru in a team! Been one of my faves even in non Trick Room teams tanking Earthquakes and Discharges and using Instruct, love using it

Second this! I’d love to get Aaron’s insight into teambuilding in the format especially, I feel like I have no clue what I’m doing.
Sounds like a fun video to see your analysis of a meta team to build!
i usually watch these while im ev training (for raids.) takes me the 30min sammich timer for a full 6 party so these are so perfect honestly. thank you 💕
You can also use parabolic charge on bellibolt for more sustain
This is the sort of thing I am here for! Trick room shenanigans with Oranguru is peak. I'm glad Bellibolt seems to be a good fit for it also. 😁
Really like the rocky helmet amoongus play as well. I would like to play around with more rocky helmet mons in the future.

I love bellibolt, just because the eyes are the small yellow things and not the white big ones at the sides 😂 it’s cool to see it shine on vgc

You’ve become part of my daily night routine, love the content, have been watching since 2014, keep up the great work king
I just want you to know that every time I come back from work and see your posting a video it makes me feel joyful and happy. thank you so much please keep doing it i love your content
Funny, I was just using WP Bellibolt w/ Farigiraf as my bulldozer/trick room setter. Perfect timing for this video!
Fantastic video! It is very entertaining when you are able to use a team in multiple ways, keep it up man!
Haven’t been commenting but these videos are really useful, entertaining and you can feel the passion. Thank you for the content and dedication man. I rate belli 7/10 the charged attack on electric terrain goes crazy. Happy holidays to you sir
I really want too see him feature Wolfey’s rank 1 team! It’s such a cool team and would be super fun to see what Aaron thinks of it!
Bellibolt is a 10/10 EASY. Not only is it my favorite design of this new generation, it’s the first shiny Pokémon I caught in Violet version! Love it, 10
Love bellibolts design. Playful. Cute. Dopey looking. Like the idea of a bulky boi also.

I just watched a Pokesports video with a team around Oranguru and Bellibolt just an hour ago! I’m loving the odd ball team strategies 💯
Iono did the same to me with her Bellibolt when I first attempted her rematch in game as what happened to your opponent in first match. I thought I'd KO her Bellibolt, but it survived and KO'd me. Afterwards I've held pure, unadulterated terror towards that thing. :D
Thanks for the fantastic videos, I really enjoyed these strategies! Super cool and flexible team!
If you can get access to your opponent's team from the first game, you should feature it in a video, it looks really fun
I'd love to see a team with Speed Swap Rabsca. I anticipate it will result in MANY Disconnects, from the opposing sweepers just getting screwed XD
Bellibolt owned game 1 love it well done on the play making as always
I'm really interested in why Oranguru learns Bulldoze. Makes this team super cool but that's such a strange move for it to have
It’s a very common move and TM. Girafarig, Corsola, Altaria, Sawsbuck, Tangrowth, it’s one one of those really spread out TM moves. Definitely hundreds of mons who have been able to learn it.
To activate weakness policy
It's actually very logical; 1. To spread to more Pokémon 2. 'To bulldoze' or '(name) buldozed through the store'. It simply means that someone rushes around, breaks shit or scared you senseless. A lot of animal Pokémon learn it ;)
Instruct does burn a turn of sleep. It's actually how I deal with sleep on my trick room set.
Hey guys! bDarnandy here and today I‘m back watching another episode where he climbs the online VGC ladder in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and provides live commentary as he goes.
I'm happy to see him pop up more
Bellibolt is 9.9/10 for me! Also, seeing Maushold KO itself was so satisfying! 😂
Hey really nice vid as usual ! What about a Gallade's Justified + Maushold Beat UP in a future team ? It's haunting my dreams lately
I like weakness policy teams. In a world full of tailwind / trick room it’s nice to have a lot of variety ok Pokémon with more gimmicks.
I really, REALLY love the aesthetic of Ice type Pokemon and have always wanted them to be more viable than they have in the past. I absolutely love Bellibolt, I'm usually not big on electric types but the funny stomach frog is goated.
What remarkable games today! I was on the edge of my seat during games 1 and 3 ! Also thanks for the long episodes =]
Love bellibolt 10/10. Using a similar setup w farigaraf. Parabolic charge over weather ball and max spatk. Also has hariyama for bullet punch electromorphosis proc or just heavy hits.
Awesome first and second game. Especially loved how you persevered in the second game although the odds were against you.
I do think instruct burns a sleep turn:

My fav team! Glad to see you pilot it
Game 1 was a banger. Thanks for the upload Aaron.
the bolt beam coverage with the ice team is a great idea since ground and grass types f u over easily with bellibolt but it feels silly to say he deals little dmg and has low sustain; you can just run parabolic charge and invest in Spa and he deals insane damage and doesn't die even to a lot of double ups; also oranguru dark instead of fairy is pretty good vs some prankster taunts and with covert cloak you're pretty hard to stop
Yo this team is fire, love to see a beliibolt team finally, it was my favourite pokemon during the ingame
The sleep mechanic definitely needs to change, those sleep turns are so brutal! Amazing job though, I love this Belli team
Day 2 of asking for an Orcorico video
Get him a rental code and he just might
Yes I’ll love a dancer team too
Yes! Attacking 3 times in 1 turn!
@@brendonkelley8213 if I can get my team registered online then I’ll comment the code
Will support
These were some very intense games with a really interesting team, ggs all around
You can also use simbiosis plus magnet or life orb for even more damage
18:00 "Bellibolt can you hang on from Dark Tera Cleave?"
Banded Adamant Tera Cleave from Kingambit does roughly 60% to Bellibolt. so yes, it can.
I caught Bellibolt a while back and never used him, now that I've seen his little jiggle I have to give him a 12/10. Also, these daily videos are IT, I couldn't wait for these games to come out just so I could watch you dissect it.
8:28 I really want to see a Floatzel team
I’ve been doing some calcs and even Life Orb Water Tera Wavecrash OHKOs most meta mons even meowscarada unless it’s sash.
Pelipper with Wide Guard is also something I consider being very good with all the spread moves right now
Game 3 re Icicle Spear -- Icicle Spear doesn't make contact, so it might still be a Rocky Helmet on the enemy Amoongus
I’m rating bellicose as an 9/10. I love the lightning bolts that show up on its stomach when it uses its moves. I also really like it’s shiny
Bellibolt is a 15/10! Shaped like a friend, big :D energy
It seems like there’s less weakness policy focused teams in this meta compared to the later sword/shield metas (in fact for a while I wondered if they removed the item entirely). Why do you think that is?

Thoughts on trickroom for indeedee-f armouruge torkal and hatareena. Torkal is terra grass with solar beam to avoid spore and hit water. Created it and those four can be brought to almost any battle
Aaron while robbing a bank: "Hey guys, Aaron "Cybertron" Zheng here"
I was hooting and hollering at the end of game one, awesome work
Super cool team! Love this frog.
The first game win was unbelievable, wow
Seeing this team gave me an idea of making a team with a different wide guard mon, I thought about tropius with some setup of sunny day/trick room and solar power, unfortunately I'm not a good team builder lol

So i guess it doesnt burn a sleep turn as sleep ist counted per turn rather than per Action.
Your live commentary in-game helps. I already reached Master Ball rank in just three days.
this team look really fun, i used to use something similar which abomasnow was not able to help much but i did not know about the weather ball option on bellibolt
That first game was out of this world so crazy
Yay cybertron video!! edit: bellibolt is 10/10 in my book 😊
The first battle is a testament to your battling skills, Aaron zhang finds a way 🎉
Yayyyy bellibolt team !!!! Ive been waiting my favorite pokemon of gen 9 :D
I feel like assault vest or life orb on baxcalibur with ice shard over swords dance might’ve been stronger and probably would’ve helped with game 3. granted you’d likely have to risk icicle crash miss.
