Bo, I’m only 4 minutes into the video but I have to say I love the color grading. That parking spot looked so amazing. Had to pause the video and leave this comment before I could continue 😂
Bag Enthusiasts: There are some people who are enthusiasts at this level. You are right to say that there is a target demographic for this bag. The challenge it has is that people in this space may have some brand loyalty. I see some Tumi bags which are of the same kind of style and size, which are a few hundred pounds and euros less. The Rimowa backpack is similarly priced. Coach leather backpacks, which I think are probably the most competitive for this backpack, are about the same price-maybe a little bit cheaper. The LV backpacks make this backpack look cheap and nasty, haha. The resale for this bag-not having the brand recognition-would make it harder to resell, likely to lose something on the resale. The bag looks good; however, there are Tumi and Coach backpacks which are functionally better equipped. They have been doing this for a lot longer, it seems. They understand the demographic very well. I like your verdict, and I think this is going to be an awesome bag in the space where it lives. It looks good, and there is something very good about having a bag that is hard-wearing and looks great, which a good leather bag will give you. Client meeting bag - YES. I really like it, but I already am thinking of bags that I like more, and if I had the money to spend, other things would get it. I could be tempted by buttery leather, though, so I would love to have a feel of it and smell it also-I could be turned, haha. Great comparison woudl be Tumi Navigation Leather £680 Also Tumi HArrison Bradner Leather (Smaller but similar and very goof business backpack) Also, Tumi Compact laptop Brief Pack £780, Tumi LArson £1100. The Navigators probably the best comparison in the current collection. Great Video: Your videos have that dark aesthetic, but you never sacrifice being able to see the product and engage with it. Lots and lots of b-roll, which is amazing every single time. Lots of video work to put that in with the voiceover. Well done on that. Love your videos-been subbed for a while, and I keep coming back-not to everything, but I binge now and again-you do excellent work. I love how the products seem like they are subsumed into your life and you really use them-fantastic. Great angles and great integration. Point of Note: With bags at this level, the zips and the straps are really important. For £1000, I need top-of-the-line zippers and straps that look and feel awesome. This bag seems to have that.
Thanks for the positive feedback and the very detailed comment. Really agree with your points about the bag and a great research of the competing bags. Also happy to hear that you like my videos
@kiatography22 Honestly, if you walk in with the right bag, it can have an impact on how clients deal with you and contribute to a yes or a no, depending on what you are doing with and for them. A well-presented leather bag says that you take this seriously and are ready to look after what you have. It shows you choose quality and are in for the long term, which smacks of discipline. On the other hand, a less well-appointed bag says fewer of those things. Someone who would buy this bag would probably NOT fill it. They would be wearing a suit that complements its use, thinking about their presentation, and delivering a visually confident version of themselves. The bag choice is just one of the elements in the picture you present to the client. A bag like this could become a point of conversation or, at worst, it simply does NOT say anything bad about you. At best, it speaks volumes about your choices. In recent years, leather has somewhat fallen out of favour, with people preferring more synthetic bags. So if you are going to have a leather bag, it pays to have a faux leather one or a very, very good quality one that will last a lifetime. A bag you can respect because it is something you will not want to replace in your lifetime and something you want to get good use out of. This is a very earth-friendly position and a good reason to invest in a high-quality leather bag. This bag is a good size for a client meeting bag. Anything bigger would be more of an exclusive travel bag, but as it is, it just hits the limit of what an everyday business backpack looks like. I think it would say a lot and add to the positivity of your presentation if you walked in with it. Additionally, the time when the client would see it is most likely at the end of the meeting when you are chit-chatting and packing up to go to the next thing. They will see the bag and how you treat it. This is a moment to engage and be engaged with. A good, high-quality backpack or briefcase can speak volumes in those moments. I know, I am much too involved and give bags too much credit. However, it is like shoes, a jacket, or a suit. They all contribute to the image a person delivers to their audience. I have seen people dress in really nice suits and sling their gym bag over their shoulder, heading to the last client meeting of the day, thinking it will have no impact on how they are perceived. It always, ALWAYS does. People see the disconnect and wonder what is going on there. I have also seen the impact when someone makes a completely different decision, does NOT let that image slip, and retains their impact. The bag you choose will be unlikely to close the deal, but the wrong one could cause a client to pause a little longer before saying yes.
@@iu1191 oh gosh i didnt meant to reply to you, i am so so sorry :( i had meant to post this as a standalone comment. that said, i 100% agree with you!
I'm one of those people that really enjoys leather goods, this wouldn't be for me. I love a good bag but I'd love to see that thing patina over time and show the signs of all the travels. Plus nothing beats the leather smell. Great video though. Subbed.
Hey Bo, I’ll be travelling to germany, austria and slovenia in October mostly by train for 10 days. I have a: - evergoods PLC20 - evergoods CPL24 - bellroy transit workpack 20l - bellroy venture ready 26l Which one should I bring on my trip? (Will have a medium suitcase with me) Thanks man!
That's awesome. Since you have most of your items will be in the suitcase, I would take one of the 20l bags for the day trips. Both bags are cool. But I like the PLC20 better. Have a great time in Germany
Good question. I actually like it better because the bag overall is softer and easier to load. But the stealth has a camera cube inside. So if you plan to carry a camera from time to time, the grams28.com stealth might be a better option
I like the sleek look, but normally at this price point you expect (and can expect) a bit more leather and less plastic materials. A 'Leather Briefcase' from 'Saddleback' which is one of the high quality brands costs less. Together with the cheap zippers and the leather that seems very processed and therefore is not as robust than a full grain leather ... For me a big No-No. Just another brand that wants to enter the premium/luxury market with a high price rather with good (quality) products.
Im definitely not the target audience, I'm vegetarian and don't use animal products. Minimum wage here in California if you are a fast food worker is $20.00 USD per hour, I think Germany minimum wage is €12,41 but I totally get what point is. As a former media worker I don't think I ever got fully paid for all the work I did, photographing, recording video, taking notes and gathering data, doing research before hand I usually had a good idea what I needed to cover and report on, then all of the editing and getting the product ready for publishing. The price of the backpack it is what it is, does that include the VAT and other fees? I also wonder if a rough texture winter coat or rain coat will wear down the straps, I imagine it won't be worn for a long time like a normal backpack like one being used by a train or bus commuter. Leather can be made waterproof, they do it with motorcycle jackets they use a laminated leather process but it can be stiff, it would not be as comfortable--suopple as a finer leather garment or product.

Have a look at the Thursdayboots bag. I'd love to see your opinion on them. I like their trainers, am tempted to try their new bags

(Just a joke lol)

Looks pretty but definitely not in my price range and I am not the target audience
Totally understandable. There are a lot of other bags that are much cooler in our space for a lower price point. Thanks for watching

Leather can be made waterproof, they do it with motorcycle jackets they use a laminated leather process but it can be stiff, it would not be as comfortable--suopple as a finer leather garment or product.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Donald. Yeah, there is some great leather for motorcycle gear
