A few years ago at the Arizona location, i had a really nasty crash. There was a hairpin turn that was at the end of a straight and i just hit the brake slightly too hard and i spun out sideways bringing me to a complete stop. About 2 seconds later the guy behind me going full speed tboned me. It didnt hurt much but his cart ended up partially on top on mine so everyone freaked out lol. They asked me if i was alright then i was back to racing. Its dumb how you got kicked out for something minor like that.

At K1 Arlington I've never had a problem with getting in trouble for unintentional crashes not have I seen it. Maybe it's because I league race so I know the workers and they know who I am but the other day I was there with my friend who karts as well and we had much more pace and the people ahead didn't obey the blue flag or the "LET PASS" sign we both were all over his tail and eventually got past but later in the race I hit the back of a girl who braked in a flat out sweeper. I was full on the brakes and the kart yawed a bit but there was nothing I could have done. After the race one of the guys pulled me aside while going back to the pit and said that something was wrong with the kart (it was making noises) then he sent it to the back and said its not your fault. It happens. It makes me feel more comfortable knowing they know what they're talking anoit
What's funny is I raced at the same location and I've seen the very same accident right in front of the tunnel. The guys that work there are really nice like Jake. (the manager)
Mike Arnold I also had an incident at the AZ location. Right before the tunnel in the turn, some dude squeezed me out of the corner with no time to react but I ended up getting kicked out and had some neck pains afterwards, but after I explained what happened they gave me my money back for that race along with a free race.
that spin happened right b4 the the corner the marshal had no time to flag it was 1 second later. but they were wrong in kicking him out that is one of many reasons why I don't race @ K1 slow cause my battery was over charged
Can you feather the throttle in the electric karts? Also, I'm not sure why you would be kicked out over that incident. The spin was partially obscured by the pole and flag guy. There was very little time for you to react. I don't believe you acted in an unsafe manner--it was just racing incident
In my experience, you can "sort of" feather the throttle. It is a lot more "on, off" than a gas throttle cable. Best to brake late and hard and punch it on the apex. Most of the time you can just let off the gas and let the kart brake itself into the turn.
kinda bullshit to throw someone out for a wreck they couldn't control. it was a blind corner and that guy was sitting in the racing groove. i know they have policies about horseplay and being rough, but that was just an accident.
Drive flawlessly with no mistakes Guy infront makes a mistake and the refs don't warn it. Due to that you bump into the kart. Ref "sorry you need to go" Fallout guy:Excuse me wtf?
Honestly there really wasn't much that could be of been done to avoid it. You shouldn't of been kicked out. Unfortunately every center runs by different rules and tolerances.
I've been competing in karting for a while now, I can tell yeah at the first two sectors you're alright, but at the last one you cocked it up a bit. Overtaking needs a work but you've got raw talent! By the way, you couldn't see him, neither were flags raised. Not your fault
Thanks. I've only been on this carts a couple times and I was definitely losing speed by being too aggressive, but I was leading up until I got kicked out.
Rewatched it a couples times; no fellow flag, no intentional ‘drift’, no reckless driving. I can’t see anything wrong with what u did. Hope you got your money back xD
Where is this place? I just watched a different video with the same facility. In the other video they weren’t waving the blue flag and this guy that was as slower then the one filming, kept ramming and blocking. This place has s a joke. And the track is boring as hell. The indoor track I live near is in a building half the size and is way more technical than this place. And the marshals actually do their jobs.
If you got thrown out for this, the guys running the race must not have been paying attention, heard the noise, and assumed you were to blame (though you could've braked a tad earlier or just gone around like the guy behind you did). This is actually a fairly common karting incident, especially with weekend crowds, so that's definitely overkill by removing you from the race. Karting places tend to be really inconsistent with their assessments of individual situations, but in my opinion, the guy that spun out in front of you should've gotten a warning to be more careful and you probably should've received one as well to pay more attention to what's going on in front of you instead of kicking you out.
There were two cars racing ahead of him just fine. They wrecked but were behind a pole and a fat guy. There wasn't really much he could have seen to avoid getting collected.
There really wasn’t anything he could’ve done.... if you watch going into the corner it was fine... as he cleared the Apex, he then sees the guy was turned around at a complete stop. You can’t really say he could’ve gotten on the brakes sooner, cuz he finished is braking prior to the corner. He hits the apex and should be getting on the gas to be surprised by the spun kart. With no warning from the flagged. The driver can’t be at fault. On top of that, the track is etched concrete, even if you get on the brakes earlier and harder, with your kart not going straight the thing is just going to slide..... totally not the drivers fault. There is nothing he could’ve done if he was racing at full speed like he was.
It's as if you watched the clip and determined that whoever crashes is wrong. Other dude spun, don't know how that's an immediate warning but I understand as well. But to say the recorded could have braked earlier (He couldn't see with his vision obscured) and to say he could have turned right is complete bullshit. He tried to avoid the accident, hit the brakes and spun out into the dude so both your points have been proven otherwise. Also shows the lack of complete grip to just make a turn at that speed. The third guy had a better angle of the impact considering the placement of the recorder's kart and as a result, was able to slow down easier and turn through the gap
stuff like this (that is, showing their employees making incorrect assumptions) is probably why they told me i couldn't use my action camera last time i went (houston location)
These places are a disgrace to kart racing. They almost never last. Poor track routings, glossy sealed concrete, freshman college student employees just paying the rent, poor pricing, have to pay for lessons to unlock electronic governors.
NOT your fault. That flagman was watching the incoming traffic on the other side of the track giving his back to the your turn that he "supposed" to be watching ! he never saw your crash. DON'T let stupid things like this makes you stop racing because idiots shouldn't slow you down !
I have a one year later review and a lot of other content I'm working on editing, but things have been crazy so I haven't had much time. Hopefully there's more coming shortly.
Same thing happened to me at our track last weekend. There's nothing you can do and it's a pretty hard hit. Although I knew, it made me realize you can get hurt on their karts. I would've let this go assuming both of you guys had been running clean the whole time you were there. I think you were, don't know about the other guy.
+kewlfx I had definitely been pushing my kart, but hadn't had any contact before. I've actually been in worse accidents where I stopped to avoid someone and had people run over my kart. I actually had a kart stopped on top of mine and my arms were pinned under it. It wasn't comfortable by any means, but it wasn't painful. I don't think you could get very seriously injured there, but you should definitely try be careful.
I would've complained immediately. You pay money just to get kicked out because the guy in front of you screwed up? Lol fuck that, I would want a refund.
I just went racing at K1 and literally got RUN OVER (as in, his kart ended up on top of me before it stopped), and they still didn't kick him out, or really reprimand him in any way. The way it happened was someone pit maneuvered me and then the guy behind him apparently didn't think to use his brakes and went quick enough to end up on top of me and my kart. No apology, no real concern whatsoever. Have some gnarly bruises. The steering wheel mount was completely broken from it.
It totally wasn't, I'm not saying it was. The person he hit spun out in a blind spot. Guy had no time to react. And sometimes, there isn't much that can be done to prevent crashes like this, they just happen.
+Luxo087 That's exactly what happened. As soon as I did see him, the kart didn't have nearly enough traction to adjust my line to the outside. He was exactly where I wanted to go.
I'll tell you about the gnarliest crash I saw. Kart spun out in a blind spot right in the apex in a hairpin, foundation pole was in the way, the other guy couldn't see the kart that was right behind it, similar scenario to that of this video. And this is right after the straightaway, so the karts are hauling ass. Anyway another kart entered the hairpin and hit it, and the kart that hit the guy that was spun out actually launched 5 feet in the air, and completely jumped over the kart that got hit, and it nosedived about 6 feet away. I almost shat myself. I was right by the hairpin watching the race, waiting for my turn when it happened.
The guy had just spun so the marshal didn’t have enough time to wave the yellow flag because u were close to him so i dont think we can blame this on anyone
Bad workmanship here. Nothing was signaled, and you cant even see the kart stopped until he rounded the corner. I have raced at K1 in Orlando,FL and its fun, but overpriced
No way you could have reasonably told he'd spun watching the footage, when you did realise you tried to stop, even swerved and impact was a lot slower than if you'd not. Bad marshalling without a doubt, most places wouldn't have taken you off and would have reviewed why the guy spun there as it was unusual as he would have been expected to be preparing for the left turn after.
i had a very similar type of deal at wilmington where there was a bunch of us going nose to tail through a fast part of track the slow car in front of our nose to tail group spun. first guy stopped short of me and I went on top of him but I didn't get kicked out. It must have something to do with the people that were working there.
it seems like k1 tends to have less than great marshaling at some locations. i had an experience recently in denver where someone two karts ahead of me was going slowly and got a blue flag, let the person directly behind get half a kart length ahead, then overtake them and ignore persistent blue flags and pit signs. didn’t get a black flag even though they directly ignored the stewards and the basic rules of racing.
They've really changed the layout in Austin since then, twice actually. But from the last one to the current the changes aren't as drastic. I never raced it on the layout you did, looks fun, now they have a lot of fast to slow transitions not so many turns. Fastest lap for me in the last layout was 28.616, on the current track 32.699
I've had that happen before. After graduation, a couple of my friends and I went to an indoor go-kart track to celebrate. One friend spun the other one out in a blind corner. I t-boned him right as I was getting back on the gas and apparently broke some pieces off of our karts. We were allowed to finish the race in 2 mph limp mode but were then made to sign papers afterwards saying we would not sue and would never ride their go karts again. They closed down anyway so no big loss I guess.
Your better off going to On Track Experience in Kyle, Tx. It's not to far from Austin and it's right off the 35. Nice outdoor oval track with karts that go up to 65 mph way better than any electric karts.
I notice that imidiatly, that's my point, i have never seen such sad thing. The noyse, vibrations, smell and everything about a internal combustian engine is part of the fun on such simple racing machines. This one moves and sound like a toy from a theme park.
That's what happens when you have a guy making minimum wage in charge of flagging. The flagman is "rubbernecking" and staring at the spun kart rather than waving the flag to alert the other drivers approaching the turn. A third kart enters the corner and he STILL hasn't waived the yellow flag. He's headed over to talk to you are there are still other karts approaching at high speed. Anyone who thinks the incident was your fault (employee of K1 or otherwise) does not have a clue.
I had a similar experience at a K1 place in Atlanta, GA. Same thing, office team went there for group fun. as i was coming around a turn, i got knocked from behind was was shoved into the opposite wall. The operator, who wasn't really paying attention, came over and accused ME of being reckless, and they turned down the power of my cart. Since we were running time trials for prizes, really pissed me off. Won't go back there again....
The flag guys all do the same thing. They watch the car/karts coming towards them at turn entry instead of coming out of the turns so they do not see the spins until after the spins. They also wave the yellows AFTER the spins which is too late.
Looked to me that column with the tyres on it was a pretty decent blind spot and this was just a racing accident. They could kick the column out but the building would fall down.
I would say because of the crash they more than likely arnt allowed the cart back onto the track before it's been checked out by someone. It's probably just a health and safety issue.
Why does it seem like karting marshals never really grasp the purpose of the blue flag? They wave it when you’re fighting for a position but they don’t wave it when you’re being held up by back-markers.
This might have been just policy, but that's dumb! You shouldn't get kicked out for crashing into a cart that spun out that you couldn't see especially in green flag conditions! Ridiculous!
I work at a K1 Ive yet to see anyone removed even after a KART ON KART more times than I can count. Even after grown adult racers aim their karts at smaller racers. I finally found out and started the rule to be put on a green square to run at the highest speed you must run at our track consistent non bumping or slamming/crashing into barriers/walls/other Karts to obtain the Top Speed Green Squares. Had the mother of a small daughter that was tall enough to race to the smallest inch within the limits. First lap at speed the mother slammed into the daughter hard hit. When we got to her she was dazed then convulsed. Shocked told the mother who didn’t even turn to her daughter to check on her then calmly said oh she has epilepsy. We asked do you wanted to check on her as we had the field stopped. She replied no you can push her off the track so we can race. Again it was the Mom who wrecked her. Pushed her off into the pits allowed her to sit in the kart in the pits until the race was over sat with her giving her water and cool wet wash cloth until calm. Because I have a daughter I pictured my daughter sitting there. See the just big enough for the adult karts roughed up and like the before in this beginning of this post get away with it. I started my daughter at 5 in Orlando at Lil 500 she went threw each graduation to fast karts family owned track knew and practiced the limits in speed when racing with smaller children because of Father Don Schmidt Sr & JR and their daughter. Not a “CORPORATE FACILITY” but family run. Being in Orlando have numerous indoor and Outdoor tracks and facilities. They are practice safety the same even the K1 of course in Orlando we have much kart racing within 20 minutes of each other. Never felt endangered more real racers and regulars. Those who didn’t were and still are removed and noted on their information in the computer systems. Why I only race at the outdoor tracks in Dallas Ft Worth. It pains me jobs a job I do all I can to keep them safe. I dare say this doesn’t go in Orlando Tracks nor the tracks down south near Miami or any track in Florida.
Last week, at the Toronto location, I’d gone wide through a hairpin after the long straight+ fast right hander to pass a car that was on a different line…once I passed, the slower car apparently tboned me at high speed, he didn’t get kicked, Marshall saw me shake it off and drive off, gave the guy a stern talking to, and that’s it. How you could have avoided that accident is beyond me. You should have shouted : MICHAEL, IT’S NOT RIGHT!
k1 uses all electric karts that can hit about 45 mph. feels similar to a gas kart but with a tiny bit more low end grunt and no waiting on a centrifugal clutch to fully engage.
Christian they are not quiet its just scence its a camera its catching the air if you go and you ride it it will sound like niiiiiiiiuuuuuuu ive been there today
so you got kicked out for not seeing the other person? Or for crashing the go-kart? I've spun out once and got away with drifting a little bit. But for you to get kicked out for something that was an accident?? That's not cool. Which location was this?
As someone who works here, he did NOT get kicked out for driving recklessly or anything. He got kicked out because the accident was pretty serious and is what we call a Kart On Kart. It is policy for when a Kart On Kart happens, to pull the drivers from the race. Sadly no refund.
What I find interesting is I've been run over twice while at K1 and the people that hit me never got kicked out. Once, they kart stopped on top of mine, pinning my arms down. It wasn't quite painful, but definitely unpleasant. That was before I had a camera so I didn't have it recorded. Although, these have been a few isolated incidents out of many uneventful days out there.
My best time at this track was 28.671. Idk what I smoking on that lap because my average for that day was like 31.xxx xD Edit: last time I was there it seemed they re-did the layout of the turn at 1:53
At that speed it does. But u should man up and race its so fun, sure u will get in a crash if some idiot brake right in front of you and u were going super sonic speed as seen in this video. If ur a beginner u will defintly either come to a full stop or crash because of ur full stop

Also strange thing about electric carts is that they stall if you press the brake and accelerator pedal at the same time.
@@MEISURHUSBAND thats actually not strange. Its a built in kill switch so that you dont rise the brakes and put extreme wear and tear on the karts
Drive flawlessly with no mistakes
Guy infront makes a mistake and the refs don't warn it. Due to that you bump into the kart. Ref "sorry you need to go"
Fallout guy:Excuse me wtf?
Honestly there really wasn't much that could be of been done to avoid it. You shouldn't of been kicked out. Unfortunately every center runs by different rules and tolerances.
+Jj5cool1 I'm sure it was a CYA type of thing. They didn't see what happened and there was a collision, so they had to make an example.
not your fault. Btw your a good driver
Ha yeah, I don't think it was my fault. And thanks!
he didn't want to get kicked out it was obviously an accident and an un avoidable one at that!
I've been competing in karting for a while now, I can tell yeah at the first two sectors you're alright, but at the last one you cocked it up a bit. Overtaking needs a work but you've got raw talent!
By the way, you couldn't see him, neither were flags raised. Not your fault
@@NathanRJones there are few people that post gopro footage that can actually drive. You have skills.
What did the official at the end of the video even say?
Same question here
Nothing wrong on your part, no flags and that pole obstructed your veiw
Where is this place? I just watched a different video with the same facility. In the other video they weren’t waving the blue flag and this guy that was as slower then the one filming, kept ramming and blocking. This place has s a joke. And the track is boring as hell. The indoor track I live near is in a building half the size and is way more technical than this place. And the marshals actually do their jobs.
Steven Pace in Austin tx
I'd ask for money back or something, could of shown the video to them and they would of been in the same situation.
I did. They weren't very interested in hearing my side of the story at the time.
if you pay with your credit card then dispute the charge
Next time call corporate. They have a phone number.
why didnt you send it to a higher up because thats not accetaple
Make sure to file a complaint with the BBB and they'll talk to higher administration and you'll for sure get a refund and probably compensation
stuff like this (that is, showing their employees making incorrect assumptions) is probably why they told me i couldn't use my action camera last time i went (houston location)
Lol. That pillar blocked sight, the marshall didnt wave yellow flag, you tried to evade. This Karting place sucks
Not your fault at all, there was no yellow flag or anything. Nice driving !
DON'T let stupid things like this makes you stop racing because idiots shouldn't slow you down !
any new content on the monster? been a while since you posted a Moto vlog hope to see one soon.
It's obvious you attempted to avoid him so it's definitely not fair either of you were kicked for that.
I don’t think the flagsman really understood the laws of motion
I just went racing at K1 and literally got RUN OVER (as in, his kart ended up on top of me before it stopped), and they still didn't kick him out, or really reprimand him in any way. The way it happened was someone pit maneuvered me and then the guy behind him apparently didn't think to use his brakes and went quick enough to end up on top of me and my kart. No apology, no real concern whatsoever. Have some gnarly bruises. The steering wheel mount was completely broken from it.
That’s a BS Decision not even the FIA would penalise that
This video is unnecessarily long for a 40 second incident
He's a good driver, so it worth it
I don't kick out people when this happend.
They are wrong.
Why did they don't switch off the kart ??
(I work in a go-kart place in switzerland)
How is that your fault
+Fabulous Gamer probably because a kart was damaged.
That's irrelevant to the fact that it wasn't his fault.
Was that at the Dublin, CA location?
Hows that your fault when there was no yellow flag??? It was a blind corner with no warning. Clearly you tried to avoid the collision
That was neither one of your faults, just a genuine mistake! Unavoidable, definitely did not deserve to be kicked off for it...
i had a very similar type of deal at wilmington where there was a bunch of us going nose to tail through a fast part of track the slow car in front of our nose to tail group spun. first guy stopped short of me and I went on top of him but I didn't get kicked out. It must have something to do with the people that were working there.
I really hope you got your money back this wasn’t even your fault the guy didn’t wave the yellow flag.
Your "designer" spun twice in 4 laps. Someone should give him a "power wheel" and a iPhone.
I’ll never go there....
So the guys spins in a high speed corner, the barrier and flagmen stand right in the view of the apex, and they say its your fault?
Why do the tracks suck when i watch these? Like i've been in alot better indoor tracks!
you were wronly kicked out i would be emailing that company thats a racing deal you didnt even try to bump him he spun wtf k1 speed
Its why K1 and electric karts suck.
Did you show the footage to k1?
And is so, what did they do about it?
And IF so
it seems like k1 tends to have less than great marshaling at some locations. i had an experience recently in denver where someone two karts ahead of me was going slowly and got a blue flag, let the person directly behind get half a kart length ahead, then overtake them and ignore persistent blue flags and pit signs. didn’t get a black flag even though they directly ignored the stewards and the basic rules of racing.
I go to the one in Austin! My dad has gotten a 27.9 if I’m correct
They closed down anyway so no big loss I guess.
they closed down because they were sued by someone else :D
Did you get in trouble or did they just want the karts?
Your better off going to On Track Experience in Kyle, Tx. It's not to far from Austin and it's right off the 35. Nice outdoor oval track with karts that go up to 65 mph way better than any electric karts.
Is that the one In Austin
Haven't been to the one in Austin but was just at the one in Orlando there very fast and the steering wheel is harder to steer than I thought
I wonder how often they change the track layout because the track looks a tad different. But my fastest so far is 32.217
This looks exactly like the K1 I go to occasionally, are they all the same?
Frame by frame analysis shows that as soon as you saw it you lifted and turned. There is nothing more you could have done. Not your fault.
Is this a go kart or a shopping car for desabled people? Where is the engine? Does it goes over 20 mp/h ?
It is an electric kart
Are you in Austin?
Where was the flag warning of danger. How can you know what is waiting around a blind bend
Wow you must have been doing at least 10mph ..... impressive
Watching this over, the red padding on the post totally obscures the view of the spun out racer until the last second when Nathan spins into him.
I think they got mad because he drifted so hard and for so long but you didn’t create any problems and you didn’t cause the crash.
Bad mic... what was the reason!
So did you show them this?????
Is this the Seattle track?
This is Austin
+Nathan Jones ok thanks
Where was this at?
lol is that the one in austin too???
Wow, that Marshall needs to be kicked off the track, he SUCKS!
So wait did he just get kicked out of the race or out of the whole track
Can’t wait to get back to Florida
That Austin tax location?
Last week, at the Toronto location, I’d gone wide through a hairpin after the long straight+ fast right hander to pass a car that was on a different line…once I passed, the slower car apparently tboned me at high speed, he didn’t get kicked, Marshall saw me shake it off and drive off, gave the guy a stern talking to, and that’s it. How you could have avoided that accident is beyond me. You should have shouted : MICHAEL, IT’S NOT RIGHT!
I'm guessing that that is in the US, cause that is slow to be go karting
Why are these karts so quiet??
k1 uses all electric karts that can hit about 45 mph. feels similar to a gas kart but with a tiny bit more low end grunt and no waiting on a centrifugal clutch to fully engage.
Christian they are not quiet its just scence its a camera its catching the air if you go and you ride it it will sound like niiiiiiiiuuuuuuu ive been there today
Scene75 has exact same track layout quickest time for me was 28.8
so you got kicked out for not seeing the other person?
What location is this
My best time at this track was 28.671. Idk what I smoking on that lap because my average for that day was like 31.xxx xD
Edit: last time I was there it seemed they re-did the layout of the turn at 1:53
How fast do these go
Does it hurt when you crash into someone else in these ????
At that speed it does. But u should man up and race its so fun, sure u will get in a crash if some idiot brake right in front of you and u were going super sonic speed as seen in this video. If ur a beginner u will defintly either come to a full stop or crash because of ur full stop
+mohamed dahcheh thank you and I'm actually going tomorrow so I'm curious about all this but seems fun and I'm looking forward to it
Erika Munguia Trust me it is really fun. I love going there
It's fun. This didn't hurt at all. I actually had my cart run over when I've been before, that didn't feel great, but it wasn't painful. You should be fine.
Was this the kid karts ??
