@@lindahitt6825 I know we didn't see the entire trip, so maybe he did encourage Houston and we just didn't see those clips. But as edited... looks kinda competitive with a child.
He got on Houston on the previous video for not seeing a big iguana...he has a totally different perspective being so much taller, don't think Houston could see it.

I assure everyone that pushing our kids and sometimes razzing our kids and ribbing them is a very good thing. Daniel and his son have a wonderful relationship and not everyone can understand the competitive nature of how boys and men tease each other to motivate them to do better. It is a very balanced relationship that I believe a short video cannot properly show. I love this family. Great video Daniel, put together great.

My favorite gar recipe...cut a cedar plank 10x8x1/2 inch. Clean the gar and staple it to the cedar plank. Build a fire in your fire pit and let it burn down to a nice coal bed. Gently place the plank and gar onto the bed of coals...gar down. After about 10 minutes remove the plank/gar from the coals and gently scrape the gar into the fire. Season the plank to taste and enjoy.

Those armored catfish, (Pleco) are invasive to Florida, and they cause erosion damage, but they're also causing our Manatees major stress. They only eat algae, and algae grows on Manatees, and in the winter time when Manatees need to come up into the canals and springs to stay warm the Pleco's get all over them to eat the algae and it freaks the Manatees out which causes them to try and get away which burns a lot of energy, and if you notice when it's cold Manatees move very slow and not much because they need to conserve energy to survive, so when the Pleco's scare them then they need to go back out into the colder waters to eat to regain that energy, and the colder water can make then sick and even kill them. So we need every Pleco that can be taken out to get taken out. They say there is no way to get rid of them all, but the more we take out the better. Some people blame them being here on people that had them as pets and turned them lose, which is part of the reason they're here, but another reason that there are so many in South Florida is because of Hurricanes like Hurricane Andrew back in 1992 destroyed and flooded a bunch of pet stores and homes which released bunches of them into the waterways and they just kept breading. And Hurricanes destroying pet stores, houses, and zoos are also how some of the Pythons got into the wild and started breading and pretty much taking over certain areas until they started paying people to hunt and kill them.

Way to go Huston!! You get double points for those Cat Fiish. They are invasive fish just like the Lizard.Of course Tilapia are not native either so you dad may be ahead if we count that way. The Seminole Indians use to roast the Gars in the shell and then crack them open and pick the meat out of the shells. I had some friends that I went to school with and I would go out and spend the night with them and that's what we had for supper. Their table was their bed also and the whole family would sleep on it.

Boy o boy that boat is really fun to watch. He zips it under those tight low bridges amazingly accurate and fast. What a great fishing trip, memories for Houston to tell his grandkids about how much fun he and his dad in Florida before the ocean and the golf of Mexico flooded the state and left very little land usable for humans. Great video, thanks for sharing.

That looks like a fun activity for the kids as well as the adults. I didn't realize that gar was a good eating fish. Donovan and Daniel provided a lot of encouragement to the kids and Houston and Ellie appeared to be having a lot of fun.
I learned a lot watching Donovan clean the gar and prepare the gar balls. Houston didn't seem to enjoy the gar balls, but I normally don't eat close to midnight either. It might be more tasty for Houston to have cooked the talapia.
The adventure with Donovan was worth watching. Thanks Donovan and Daniel for sharing your adventures.
