I'm uploading my first real edited VOD that is going live in a couple hours so, I think so far this anticipation is horrid but also love it because there is soo much hope. I'm guessing once its live that feeling will disappear rather quickly! ha!
I always find it easy for me to come up with video ideas, but It gets harder as I try to lay out how I want the video to progress and be informative while entertaining. Thanks for the great tips on this aspect of content creation!

Not only are they relevant to the audience; they are just the right length and well timed in the video. I don't roll my eyes when you play an ad or sponsor (speaking of NerdOrDie here). I have premium so I don't see normal YT ads.
First off, that Destiny shirt is 🔥🔥🔥 Second, thank you for sharing this! Do you find that you use Trello for EVERY video? Or does that manage all your various ideas? I think one of my biggest weaknesses currently is WORKFLOW, I'm organized when it comes to streaming, but UA-cam is a whole different beast. Appreciate the time!
Can you do a video about the editing process itself? As in how to highlight the humour with editing and how to decide what scenes are important for the story of the video

Thanks Sam! Scripting is one of the areas that I struggle on, I have a disability that makes this process a bit difficult. But I do try to do point form whenever I can. Trello is very interesting and I've done a similar process to this for managing my stuff and daily tasks. I use a physical Scrum board, which is kinda like how your using Trello. I normally use it for development or when I have big projects. But unlike Trello, I use sticky notes. I guess I should give it a try.... I love Scrum. I'm very interested in lighting setups and how to set everything up, it's what I plan on working on next. Because I have a small room with white walls, I've been thinking of getting some of the NEEWER led lights with diffuse panels and barn doors or getting one with softboxes. I should paint these walls, but if my wife sees me painting, I'm afraid of what other projects she might come up with. Another thing I'm interested in is working in DaVinci Resolve. I've been making videos in Vegas for 7 years and would like to make the change... I'm just so used to Vegas, that it's making it a bit difficult making the switch. I just need to watch more tutorials 😝
You should be able to run the Zoom into the camera... Personally I use the H5 into the camera and while the preamps arent as good as my interface, it is still quite good

Great video Sam! It is a good idea to use a script, especially if your like me, a 20 minute video with no script could easily have over 100 takes. tho with a script I'd be lucky to get 30 takes. do you end up needing to make a lot of takes as well?
What resources would you recommend for people learning graphic design and video editing? I edit my own videos atm, until In get to the level where I can outsource.
I noticed the videos you were sending were under 1GB. Does that mean all your videos are encoded before uploading to Frame.io? First time I tried using it, I realized i was uploading 33 GB and it took like 14 hours. Now I realized when I encode them, they are a lot smaller, but technically some quality is lost.
If you do it as one long cut do you ever get into editorial issues? Do you have to leave guidelines about what cuts to exclude/include or do you give the editor lots of free reign?
A bit of both, because I’ve been watching Sam’s stuff for a long time I kind of know the general flow but sometimes he will leave verbal notes for me in the recordings

Sam, the audio inthe first intro section sounds way overdriven. Lots of peaking, clipping, and distortion. Hard to listen to. Did you notice that or is it just my speakers?

Look at the Tascam DR60D mark ii. It has a usb output to the camera but also functions as a recorder.
