It’s a war on two worlds - the Earth and the Moon. The Earth, planet-sized as it is, is now too small to contain the rivalry of the world’s most powerful nations. The next base of the US Military may therefore go to the moon. SpaceX, the largest private Space company on the planet, is already in the picture to make this possible. So the moon, still a peaceful and quiet ball in the night sky, grows an arsenal that can strike targets on Earth from 240,000 miles away. Welcome to the era of a militarized moon.
This just goes to prove that a private company can build something that works cheaper,faster and more efficient than any government program !
SpaceX is a corporation and primarily a govt contractor, assisting programs for NASA and the US military. This is nothing new. Apollo program hired over 250 such US companies to design and build the Saturn V system.
@@tubecated_developmentthat’s not right though it’s not primarily a government contractor, it wouldn’t have survived to this point without government contracts. But its mission statement and revenue streams are not the or from governments

mark in what areas will we be behind China?Never catch up to what?We already can launch heavier payloads into space than China.Landing humans on the moon is already around the corner.Once a country lands humans on the moon there's nothing to catch up to because it's already being done in real time.After a few more test flights of Starship it will be ready to take humans to the moon and China has nothing yet that can match Starship's ability to take 7 or 8 humans at a time to the moon with very heavy payloads.For China to match Starship capabilities it will take them more than a few years to remotely match Strship.

I respect your opinion, But believe once there’s a moon base and we are sending falcon 9’s on a regular basis, There will be enough sources and resources for life to make it on Mars. Also the new technology like the centrifuge in a vacuum slinging cargo into space will help.

I believe that development of lunar resources will be vital for the emerging markets of development in spacebased projects and extra terrestrial emigration. This will also take rapid development of Martian and asteroid materials as welĺ... One thing that needs to be addressed to continue our evolution as a space fairing people will be to make an earth normal gravity space station. And that alone will take more materials than can be lifted by Starship alone. Not if Starship is to performe t other duties needed for any cohesive expansion of our development and occupation of extra- terrestrial habitats. The best way to ensure t victory of our efforts and values is to make them continue as t driving force o all future's hopes, dreams and aspirations beyond this world. And don't forget how quickly those near-earth rotating space stations are needed. We have lost t ability to create more agricultural growth here on earth
With global warming and rising sea levels we are going to lose a lot of acreage and subsecuente yields of agricultural products, all to soon. What better way for delivering food to remote, starving people's worldwide than an orbital spacedrop?

They have published estimates some time in the early 2030s. I expect them to beat those timeliness by at least a year so their base(s) will be built, equipped, staffed and running combat drills before anyone expects that they can. Simple rocks large enough to have a several ton fragment survive re-entry would case damage equivalent to large nuclear bombs.
"Traditional" ABM systems designed to destroy a very small warhead will almost definitely be inadequate. The rocks will rely on kinetic energy rather than some complex and fragile mechanism to cause damage. Even shattering one of these stones will merely transform one weapon into several as nothing needs to "function." These rocks will be used as area weapons; circular error probable (accuracy) of a few miles is good enough for them to be effective.
We need to be in a position to prevent that. They need to be in position to prevent us from doing that...
