    Something you said is so true. The more you build, the better you get. It may take a few builds, but eventually you get better and better. It's hard to describe the satisfaction you get from your own creations! Like Ron said, give it a try. It's a lot of fun!👍😎🎸🎶

    Hey Ron. Nicely done. I ve been doing the same thing for awhile. Built my first Tele for about $675. I found a nice trans red quilt top body for $150, something you couldn’t get from fender. All other parts were Fender. It’s my #1 axe. It would cost $1800 to get a similar guitar made by Fender mod shop. Just built a strat in candy apple red for the same price with all fender parts except the body is a Squier. It was $170 with hardware.Got a loaded vintera 60s pickgaurd for $100. I think it looks and sounds as good as the $2000 American Original version that I was modeling it after. Keep up the good work. 👍

    That's a beauty! There's an awesome feeling when you play something you put together yourself...priceless!👍😎🎸🎶

    Thanks for the video. You should list the parts you used and the source where you bought them. Other than the Fender direct stuff.

    Sounds great, looks great. Must be great! Fantastic job. I wish I had the patience to do this. I’m the guy that buys custom shop guitars because he doesn’t have the patience you have! Enjoyed this video a lot. Hope you’re doing more.

      I bought the fender American Pro II that looks just like this with SSH. It has the push button to split the humbucker! I put a pearl pickgaurd on it! I paid about $1600 for it, and it was definitely worth it.

      @@justaburgscousin I’m looking for another Strat. I’ve been looking at the Am Pro 2 and the Ultra. You recommend the Am Pro 2? How does the split sound?

    You didn't build a $6k custom shop guitar. Different level of material quality and craftsmanship. But definitely a nice guitar!

      Well I have built guitars before and the real truth is that a 100 pice of ash and 50 dollar pice of ash will sound about the same the difference between custom shop and a parts caster is that the custom shops are made with hand picked wood but if you make a guitar body yourself which you can do with common knowledge of how routers and sanding you can easily pass custom shop quality because most team build custom shop guitars are USA fenders with logos and fancy cases

      He did. Why? Factorys are Not the only ones who can charge a price for what ever they want to, but everyone can. Its just a matter of choice. Lol

    i want to do this. I'm shooting for at least the stratstyle neck and strat style body for under $200. Problem is i want a 9.5 or 7.25 radius rosewood fretboard and lots of kits are offering flat radius guitars. And i want all the dimensions to be close to a strat feel.

    This is not custom shop quality, but it is nice. The pups are really nice, the bridge also. But both are a step below custom shop. And the roller saddles are cheap chinese metal, not the high quality steel of the bent sttel saddles. With that said, its really cool and i would rock

    I really wonder how much up charge brands like fender or other popular manufacturers are making on there custom shop guitars. I think it would be very surprising to find out how much extra your paying for the name brand’s. Not saying it might not be worth it but I’m also not saying you couldn’t get similar results if you put in the time and did the homework.

    I dig the build. I certainly like the budget methods that are the on-going theme of the channel.
    There is one thing thing that bugs me a bit. It's one of those things that; once you notice it, you can't stop "zeroing-in" on it. Now on every video, it grabs my attention and I end up focusing on it. I HATE THAT YOU DON'T USE YOUR "PINKIES" WHEN PLAYING GUITAR. You play guitar with 3 fingers. Pointer. Middle. & Ring. I've noticed this probably 100s of times by now. Your pinky is kind of curled up, out of the way. Similar to how the queen of England would sip tea. You use your ring finger to cover both the 3rd AND 4th fret notes, of each hand position on the neck. I understand it shouldn't bother me, and it isn't a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. It's probably habits leftover from being "self-taught". I noticed myself getting into the same habit (20 years ago now), and I purposely came up with "fingering progressions" that focused on utilizing the pinkey. It was the best thing I ever did, to improve my playing. I think if you spent a little time developing your pinkey so you could rely on it just as easily as you can with your other 3, it would really improve the fluidity of things... Just my thoughts. Eitherway, keep up the budget builds, they are great.

      Thank bud but the best thing about playing guitar their is no wrong way to play it. I do use my pinky on alot of songs when I play live but when I don’t have to I don’t my hands and fingers are so big I see no need in it sometimes it just gets in the way 😂

    • @Spectt84
      @Spectt84 4 роки тому +1

      @@RonaldLeggettJr Yes. True. I'm glad you weren't offended. It wasn't supposed to be an "attack" against you. You have a good sound. I just thought, if you were ever feeling like your playing skill started to 'plateau' it might be something to look at. I know it seems like "what's the point, I'm hitting the same note regardless..." LoL. I can't explain it either, but after doing it and developing my pinky, I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND NOW. When I was a kid, my guitar teacher would literally yell "STOP, STOP, STOP!" then whack my hand with a ruler (jokingly, it was like love tap) if I avoided my pinky. Then make me start all over... Come to think of it, that's probably why it bothers me to see other people doing it... LoL. Again your not WRONG, you can play your guitar with your toes if it works for you. I just think if you spent a few months developing that finger, you could kick your game up even more...

    Cool job, but you didn't build a $6,000 custom shop strat. You built a $1,000 DIY strat. But still I respect what you did and your skills.
