Darrell Braun Guitar I
There’s only maybe 4 -6Guitars that have there own sounds. Rickenbacker, Gibson Les Paul, Gretch, Telly @ Strat. All the others sound alike or copies. It’s ascetics
Is the body you chose solid or chambered?
Hi!
It's a solid body.
Thanks! I see why you went with Warmoth after having a look around their site.
Darrell, I literally want to see everything. Don't leave out anything please. The only thing that feels almost as satisfying as putting a partscaster together is watching one being put together. I'm very excited.
ROWDYtheCAT maybe make 1 edited and 1 unedited video
Indeed
Please film the wiring and soldering! As someone who’s always wanted to build a super strat (but lacks some of the know-how), it would be so cool to see how you put it all together!
You could do the soldering and drilling on camera but speed up the video and then run normal speed if u have something to say.
We are starting a new partscaster build! Very excited about this one!
Do you guys want to see all the nitty gritty of the build, or would you like me to skip the "boring" stuff?
I think it'd be cool to see the whole process. Great video!
Darrell, of course would like to see the whole process!
Nitty gritty 100%
I recommend to anyone wanting to visualize a build-up, go the Warmouth website and do an interactive custom build...neat program that lets you see the actual body you would get and assorted hardware.
Nitty gritty.
Would love to see a parts price summary and total on this beast!
I can't wait to see that ! I hope you will not skip, we want to see everything you're doing ! Xxx
I've been kicking around building one myself. I absolutely would like to see all of the work behind it. Thanks. (new subscriber by the way, great content so far!)
Will do! Glad to have you aboard :)
Yes please
Yeah, show it. Hi-speed the worker drone stuff in edit. We'll stop motion on view. Great choice of components. Looking forward to some gitar majik!!! See u Mon. Whatever u du will be xcelnt
You need to do it. Such a relaxing way to spend spare time.
Me too |:)
I'd love to see all the soldering and drilling.
Lmao all he did was like this
Yes
Want to see the whole build! Thanks.
Show us everything!! Looks like it’s gonna super awesome
Please show EVERY step. I love what you're doing and don't want to miss any of it.
Hi Darrell, personally I would like to see the whole process, length of the video is not important to me, the more detail the better. I love the look of your Seafoam Green Tele with the Bigsby by the way, it looks way cool!
Agreed. I've got time. Would love to watch the whole process. Looks like an amazing setup and can't wait to hear it. You're always smiling so you're fun to watch. I'd be smiling too if I had all those cool toys.
Agreed. 100%. Please include the setup steps: relief, action, intonation, etc...
Christopher Jeneson yes full build!!
Scott that part is so intimidating that is why I anxious to see it also.
Omg. Black headstockkkkkkk, and those tuners!!! Crazy cool. Awesome parts all around.
I'd love to see the entire building process as well... soldering, drilling, everything. I know others would appreciate it too. Thank you Darrell.
everything. yeah, soldering and drilling may not be the most entertaining, but will be very educational, especially for those of us who have never done a parts build. i hope that guitar sounds as good as it looks, 'cause it's gonna look great.
Super cool - thanks for sharing, Darrell! And it'd be awesome to see everything - soldering, drilling...the whole thing!
Looks cool. You should document it. That way you can maybe highlight some of the challenges you faced and how you overcame them.
Looking forward to the finished product 😊
Yea Darrell, showing the wiring workup and the soldering are important to us doing it ourselves. Especially with the Ultimate Epiphone build, the wiring is one of the key areas we need help. The Epi LP Custom Pro (I bought a well-used 2015 ebony & gold to do this rebuild) has quick connects and of course 3 push/pull pots (both volumes and one tone to phase shift). The wiring is perhaps key to success here, as I have found more than one wiring diagram for these. Not trying to harp on this but if I am going to go to someone to pre-wire it, I might just as well have a Luthier do all of it. I understand if you cannot do the wiring work yourself, but you could film someone doing it. Just a thought.
That said, your tutorials and reviews are great and you ARE making a difference for us out here. Thanks again, Darrell and let me be one of the last to wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
I'm not a black guitar guy but I think this guitar is going to be absolutely gorgeous
Isaac Ord when they are sitting on the stage with the lights on them. Those black guitars look totally awesome I have three or four that I got that color just for that reason. For some reason people just think the guitars going to play itself.
Isaac Ord Based on your profile pic I would assume that you're a white guitar guy haha
Nick lol that’s kinda funny.....
57 old n Black dude
Im a black guitar dude lol
I have been building, modifying, and repairing guitars for 33 years now.
It is very fulfilling to select your own parts and assemble them into a great instrument.
The chief attributes needed are patience and attention to details. Of course, it's fun also.
Good luck, and the final instrument should be excellent. All guitar players should try this.
+Perihelion77 Thanks so much!
I agree ☺
WOW, does that look fantastic. I want one. I've also used Warmoth parts and have never been disapointed.
That flamed maple body got me awestruck. DAMN.
Yeah, it's sad to put ugly scratch plate over that beauty.
WOW! Cant wait to see the Strat complete!
Man o man! DROOLING over those parts!!! Can't wait to see the finished product!!!
I for one would be happy to see the soldering and drilling ... even if you resorted to a second video or time lapse. I'm gearing up for my first build - an Epiphone Les Paul soup up - so I always like to see all the steps I can. Thank you for the excellent videos.
Excited to see everything being put together.
Really cool build,I have something similar.Couple of years ago,I turned my old, beat up,late 90's Yamaha Pacifica into a Frankenstein -Superstrat with the help of a buddy of mine, who does these projects all the time.We took the Yamaha, alder body stripped it completely down, refinished it in a cool light metallic blue.We got a Warmoth neck, quartesawn maple/ebony fretboard, compound readius, stainless steel jumbo frets.GOTOH/Wilkinson locking tuners and VS100 tremolo, like the one Andy Timmons has on his Ibanez. My friend sculped the neck heel and made the cutaway deeper for better access to the low frets. For the electronics we put in a S.Duncan JB/Classic Stacked Plus/Cool Rails combo with a 5-way blade and an additional mini-switch,in order to split the JB separately.(with the switch on,you have only the outer coil of the JB,on position one, with the switch off, full humbucker)
That thing sounds and plays fantastic,I would put it up against any boutique superstrat.
+greekfreak1980 That sounds amazing!!
My friend, also build a Jake E. Lee inspired superstrat, for one of his students. The kid is a big Jake E.Lee fan and was GASing for that white sign.model that Charvel sells for a ridiculous price. They used again a Warmoth neck and a second hand American Strat body, they found online for dirt cheap.Electronics same as in the original guitar(S.Duncan JB and 2 DiMarzio singlecoils) and the fixed bridge version of the Hipshot, you got.
Again, the result is a pro-level guitar, which plays and sounds amazing, for a fraction of what Charvel sells the official sign. model.
That is going to be one gorgeous guitar! I'm on board with those who'd enjoy seeing all the detail and minutiae of your Super Strat build. Can't wait for Monday to roll around!
Probably don't need to see drilling and soldering but the assembly technique would be interesting. Suggestion: Take the volume and tone knobs to someone who does insert work and get abalone pieces fit to those to match the pick-ups. Don't ever play this in a darkened nightclub where people have access to the stage... someone will trip over it, having not seen it. You are looking VERY happy here DB. Looking forward to the results.
Hey Darrell. I am so glad you are building a Superstrat. I would love to build one myself. It would be interesting to see the entire build. Thanks for all of the great videos. Your channel is by far one of my favorites. Thanks for keeping it clean.
+Paul H Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you're a part of the channel. ☺
was already looking for part 2! lol I didn't realize this video is from today.
Hahaha! Yeah, it just went up :)
dying to see what it sounds like. HOWEVER its almost not fair seeing as how these are amazingly high quality part. The trick would be to put together a high end sounding guitar with cheap parts! Say under $100 total? Maybe $200 max if 100 is not doable. Next challenge for you lol
Wow! Beautiful! Really looking forward to the build!!!
Hey Darrell, I think in regards to showing the actual work, you could show that in high speed, like when you were unboxing the parts. Personally, I'd like to know about any remarkable wins or follies about the build as you go. eg. Whether the tasks went super easy or way more difficult than you expected...things like that.
Can't wait to see it! Big Ups Darrell!
Will do!
AMAZING!! The body looks gorgeous and so does the neck. Show us everything (drilling and all that stuff) and just put the minute where you put all the important for those that don’t wanna see the full process, because personally I wanna see how you drill and put every single part together. Really pumped for the video of the build. Keep it up!
Dude that is fantastic!
Darrell, I'm very excited to see how you do all the steps in the build! I've thought about doing a parts build but have worried that the neck will need some advanced skills. This guitar will look stunning! Please show everything!!!
Love the humbucker covers that with the body and neck are beautiful. I hope the sound is great. Want to hear them and then want to put it in my Ibanez RG black flame maple. Yes would love to see the build
Wow, I can't wait for this! The body and neck look absolutely gorgeous. Abalone pickup covers?? Omg how cool are they! Please, please show the whole process including soldering etc!
I don't know how you are so brilliant at it ! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hahaha! Thanks man!
Yes I would like to see the entire build.
dope video darrell!! you are currently my favourite guitar youtuber.
Thanks man!
Wow I can't wait, I would love to see the process of putting it together as well. Plus at the end a break down on the cost of each part.
That’s going to be a sweet build!
+lando27music 😀😀😀
Fascinating video! It must be nice to have an imagination/diverse taste in guitar finishes (my Daphne Blue/Surf Green obsession is ridiculous), you choose a great finish for your new build. The pup covers will really pop out. Thanks for documenting the build, I've always toyed with the idea of ordering a Partscaster through Warmoth, so its nice to live vicariously through you.
Good Choices Darrell. Looking forward to your completed project.
I tell people that building guitars (especially strat types) are musician adult Legos. You choose which neck and body and pickups, etc. It is so much fun just picking out the parts and when you are done you have a beautiful guitar exactly as how you wanted it.
Also, Warmoth makes the best parts in the world. Period. Their quality control is amazing.
Yay More start builds!!!!!!😄🤘🎸
I am absolutely in love with that body. I love the way the back looks. No pun intended lol
I can see Darrell Braun Guitars as a brand in the future :P
Hahaha, that would be awesome!
Darrell Braun Guitar do it man!
good call on the dual push pull. Super versatile, and not that hard to wire up. More options than a super switch.
Maybe just a glimpse of soldering and drilling, to see the tools in your hands. And wear a welding helmut just to scare us! : ^ )
Yes, please do show the soldering and drilling.... I'm also keen to see you do a setup of this or another one of your strats. Thanks Darrell
imo
Great vid...excited to see how it all goes together!
imo
Oh...yeah...I'd opt for you to skip nothing...watch & learn works for me...
Yes please show the build process. Thank you for the great videos !
Do a timelapse of everything! With sweet ass guitar noodlin in the background;););)
I don't know any other channel that finds such amazing figured tops!
I'm super exited for this one!
All parts look absolutly fantastic!!
Show us everything, Please!
Hey Darrell, Would you consider building a partscaster for other people, Example, me?
I'm serious
Hahaha, I think that would be too much pressure!
Well, for me it would only add to the guitar if you built it!
Let me take some of that pressure off you, Can we both pick all the parts, how does that sounds?
Lets make it fun!
im excited to see every part of the building, can't wait to see that badass complete
It'll be cool if we get to see the whole process of drilling, soldering, etc.!!! :)
Looking forward to the finished product. Please show all the grunt work. Thanks!
Show everything I would be interested to see.
Wow, that guitar is gonna look absolutely stunning!!! Can't wait to see the finished product!
AWESOMEEEE!!!
I would enjoy seeing you fit the neck as that always seems like the most intimidating part of the build. Great kit so far!
200k soon! :D
+Lovro Knezevic Getting close!! 😀
Darrell Braun Guitar can't wait to see how the build will turn out!! Looks awesome!!! 😀
That is the most beautiful Strat body I have ever seen!!!!
Never seen a more Canadian person in my life
That's because he's the only one like him. Darrell is a hoser God. All others from the Great White North aspire to reach that level of Canadianism.
Looking forward to the build. Can't wait to see it.. Have fun.
Expose it all!!
Wow! Looks amazing, and I can't wait to hear what it sounds like. I'd love to see the details of how you build it, as in the soldering and drilling, too, because, wow. I might just have to build it too!
Looks that it will be great :)
Although I gotta say that SuperStrats and 3 Buttons with one almost on top of the Brdige Humbucker (bad Fender Design) doesn't really mix to me. But if thats what you wanted, go for it :)
I find it harder to palm mute, but then again i am not a particularly good player but it is a issue which stops me getting a strat again.
It's actually there for a reason.
Please do upload a full built on this one. It's an inspiration to some of us! Thank you for your time doing this.
Solder video!
Looking forward to seeing + hearing the final result! Thanks for sharing Darrell :)
Do you prefer the 2 point trem? Im skeptical about using one because of the immense load on two pivot points.
Sidly But why? It's a proven design. Decades old and used by countless manufacturers.
Cabby Cabby I heard some guys saying that their wood started to crack. I'm just worried because I'm going to be using a cheap body and the wood might not be so strong. Although I do like the more modern options for 2 point trems
I know this is a 3 year old video, but I enjoy the full build process. I don't care if it's long, people can easily skip ahead if it's something their not interested in but the whole thing is there for the rest of us. One of the reasons I like the whole process is because when I'm working on my guitar, it's always the small things that frustrate you and you can go watch a detailed video and find out the small thing you did wrong. Short videos barely cover the basics and edit out the part that I seem to always need...
Just recently got into your channel Darrell, and I must say, the Strat's body is gorgeous! A question about the pickups though, which specific ones from the Black Arts series did you end up opting for?
Hi Chris!
Welcome to the channel ☺
The pickups are the overkill model
Darrell Braun Guitar Wow, thanks for quick response mate! I'm really loving your channel, keep up the quality content!
Gorgeous!! I'm looking forward to seeing it built!
Build? Assembling is the correct term, you're not actually "building" anything. Picking out parts and screwing them together doesn't count as a build, sorry. To use the word build infers actual skill and craftsmanship on a level far higher than is required to simply put parts together. Have some respect for the people who possess the skill and knowledge to actually build things for real.
+Jason T. You mean like hitting start on a CNC machine? Is that what you mean by skill and craftsmanship - cuz that's how all guitar parts are "built" 😉
Jason T. Wow you’re fun.
Darrell Braun Guitar lol or cut a tree to get the wood first, then start With CNC. 😆
Ya just like when u build a ar15 it’s all just parts but yet they still call it a build hmm Jason u are just an ass hat
you know you gotta plant the tree yourself otherwise it's not your build right
Awesome project, Darrell! Looking forward to finished product, especially the sounds! I vote for step by step.
This stuff looks just amazing!
Looking forward to the building video.
Got to see this completed. Very unique with great choices on color and hardware.
That looks amazing! Can't wait to see and hear this build. My favorite part is those abalone pickup covers. I for one would watch every minute if you put up the details of the build. Can't wait till Monday!
Sweet stuff Darrell! New builds are always exciting.
Perfect timing. Just started ordering parts for my parts-caster... but body won’t have pre drilled holes... so yes please show!!! Thanks
Darrell, this looks like it's going to be an incredible playing and looking sweet Stratocaster build. I can't wait to see you do every single bit of it if possible on video.
I can't wait to see the process of putting those parts together and the tone test on each of the pickup position including the coils splitting in detail.
I used that same exact Bridge for a “Blacked Out” partscaster I built a couple months ago. You will LOVE that bridge. Excellent quality!!!
+Eric Bachmann That is so great to hear! ☺👍
Darrell Braun Guitar I forgot to mention that I did change out the Saddles for a set of Roller Saddles. Maybe something you might consider because the Roller Nut you are using. Would work well together.
Congrats Darrell! Looking forward to seeing the build and I'm inspired to try one for myself.
Excellent choices. I'm excited to see how the build turns out.
Great choice with the Hipshot bridge. I got a vintage-style Hipshot bridge when I upgraded my '96 MiM Strat, and it is brilliant, especially love the added sustain.
Looking forward to seeing and hearing the results
Oh God! That looks insane! Can't wait to see how it turns out!
What a beauty! You can do the details, we don’t mind. Can always zip through it like you did the unboxing. That neck is insane, I’m not a maple fan so it’s nice to see this one. Looking forward to the finished product.
After a long day, nothing else is better than watching a new Darrel Braun video
+Kyle JAMES Thanks Kyle! 😀
Great! Looking forward to seeing (and hearing) the finished product!
We wanna see it ALL! Love your channel, Darrell! Greetings from Spain!
I will absolutely would like to see the build process. I was considering building one myself. Thank you, enjoy the new gear.
I think Warmoth and Fender did the building. This is more of an assembly of various parts. Which is fun and awesome. Love your videos.
'Build ' can mean parts Build.
Absolutely I would like to see all the works behind it and I mean all the details.Super excited for the video
