You have to understand that for 1974 that was cutting edge tech. From what I've seen there are quite a few still out there being used by their original and current owners. They pretty much all say the same thing, that you have to get it dialed in, but then it will run all day. I know in 74 my favorite mountain bike was a single geared Rupp motorcycle that would scream down the trails, and I believe it was built by a snowmobile company. If I'm wrong somebody let me know.
best toy i have ever bought. i have always had a problem with tuning the Carb, but as soon as you get it dialed in it will run all day. I have had mine for about 10 year (got it at a garage sale) and it has always worked with a little love. Parts are getting hard to find, but i have found if you bring in the part and don't tell them what its for, you have a little better luck finding what you need. Most common items (filter, chain, etc.) can be picked up at your local Polaris or Yamaha dealer
@@dopeman420you're rudely replying to a comment that's 14 years old, you goof. OP could be dead. C'mon, how do you know how hard parts were to find, 14 years ago? That's crazy. Kick rocks, clown.
Yes Rob I have, I fixed it with a roller chain i got at the auto parts store (actuall a timing chain) I do not remeber the part #, but if you take the chain to your local auto parts store you can probaly find a good one. I used it and it hasn't had a problem since kev-
Ok! Thanks so much, Kev. I'd love to revive mine for this winter. Runs flawlessly but that damn chain! 1st Snow of the year going on in NY as I type! w00h00! Thanks again! -Rob
I've got one my father bought brand new, its in mint condition, but ever since brand new the goddamn chain would always snap. Ever have that issue? thanks---Rob
Ha ha, I haven't thought about this in years. I ended up with it after it passed thru another friends hands. I got it for free and I did manage to get the engine to run somewhat? But they are junk and not worth putting too much $$$$ and time into. I ended up selling it on FB marketplace to a guy who was going to hang it on his garage wall as decoration (or so he said)

this ain't cheesy; its par for the course in the late 70's
It's worse than cheesy, it's squashed into a vertical aspect ratio.
The grandfather of timbersleds. They are a whole lot faster these days.
Exactly, there is nothing new under the sun. Only more modern renditions.
I just got one of these puppy's, but theres no spark plug. Can anyone tell me what plug will work? Thx!
11 years late, but a Bosch b7hs or br7hs

It looks like something some low level James Bond thugs would be chasing him with
