just picked up 2 bottles for £30...originally a gift for my dad, but had to treat myself :D I live in the UK and its always dark and cold through christmas. Feels like a great fit for us. Thanks for the vid!
Both are really good, but in different ways. This is more sweet and smokey, Qa'ad is more middle eastern, richer with more oud. Probably give this one the edge for fall smell. Qa'ad is probably better quality luxurious smell, this is more casual.
I blind bought this 2 weeks ago, and it immediately became my signature scent. I straight up love it! I have other scents on order, but I can't imagine any of them being this good...
I have Ameer Al Oud and really enjoy wearing it. I like that it is not so sweet as By The Fireplace. I like fragrances that project an environment or scenery.
Spot on review brother, this is a top ten greatest hit from the lattafa house. It absolutely smells better with time and gets lots of compliments. If only Fall weather would reach my neck of the woods, hit 94F last week, today 89F. SOTD Armaf CDN Man (PR 1 million).
Spot-on description, great scent. A similar but better (IMO) fragrance is Majd Al Sultan by Asdaaf (Lattafa offshoot). Really unique leathery, woody scent. My fav Lattafa. Another great scent for this time of year is Lattafa's Ajayeb Dubai. It's their coffee scent released before Khamrah Qahwa but NOBODY seems to know it. I love KQ but like Ajayeb even more - smooth coffee scent, less spicey, very warm (tho a little synthetic for the first few minutes). Also cheap...under $20! (which means it'll probably be discontinued soon, try it before it's gone)
Ooh yes! I love when you review ones I already have! Believe it or not I had no idea it was a By the Fireplace impression until someone pointed it out to me. Then I smelled it side-by-side with my little Maison Margiela decant. Close! I love the affordability and the look of the bottle.
I love my Ameer Al Oudh Intense! It is positively beastly! I appreciate it so much in the dead of winter. After maceration, mine is routinely a 10-12 hour banger. I feel like mine gets sweeter in the deep dry down. I have the Qaa'ed intense mentioned. It is a great fragrance. I'm waiting on maceration right now. But even without it, it is very good.
Mine was good from the get go, but now that my bottle is over a year old, it last well over 8 hours (normally nothing last on me) on skin and 24 hrs + on clothes. it's sweeter and much better balanced and smoother than when I first got it.
@@ashimghosh7967 Maturation, is basically introducing some air in the bottle by using it a few times or let out 10-20 sprays, then just letting in sit a while. one theory is that laying it on it side so that more air is exposed to the surface of the juice in the bottle might speed things up. One option I have done, is to fill up a 5ml decant, use that while my main bottle matures. Not all perfumes benefit from maturation, sometimes what you get is what you got, but most of the UAE frags specially Lattafa, have improved over time. sometimes it's just performance, other times it's te quality and smoothness of the blend, and sometimes you get both.
I got my bottle nearly 3 months ago. First spray on my skin it didn't neven last two hours. I let it sit for a month sprayed it again and it smells wonderful. Now the scent lasts for a few hours on my skin. It's a good buy.
Just started wearing this line from my purchase of Qaed Al Fursan. Which I love this fragrance by the way with that very nice dole pineapple smell in the opening. Looking to get my hands and try more fragrances from this line. Including this one here that you did your review on
South Floridian here as well, just so people get an idea, this fall our coldest night so far was around 77, we are still in the mid 80's my problem is, my favorite frags are the heavy hitters like this one, Ameer Al Oud is a cozy frag, and I have sprayed it on before bed on some nights. After maturation it smoothens out and performance gets even better. Another frag in the same ball park that I have but is more ambery and sweet, is "Golden Oud - Asdaaf" supposedly a clone of Oud Bouquet - Lancome' although the notes listed differ some, Golden oud actually listing more notes and no rose. it is stronger sweeter and smokier than Ameer al oud but harder to wear in warmer climates but do recommend it to anyone, it's also very good quality and budget friendly.
Good video, nice to know about, yeah fireplace good frangrance,I was at Sephora smelled jazz club and fireplace,I'd have to go with fireplace myself. Hopefully you'll get quawa soon. GOD BLESS
Just picked this one up and I was a little surprised. Its been on my buy list for thr better part of a year and it's not really the burnt marshmallow sweet with woods scent I was expecting. More of a fall wet wood and leaves with a touch of oudh and sweetness. I'll let it macerate for a while and see how it changes.
Sounds like a great fragrance! If I see it at my Burlington or Marshalls I’m going to grab it. Would you say it leans more masculine than By the Fireplace?
Why it takes your breath away is cos of the alcohol on first sniff but it settles after a few minutes. It’s a 7/10 for me. Please recommend other fragrances under 50 bucks. Thanks
@@fragrancefanI know 😅. I really try to not get stuff too similar and have nothing like it right now. I think this could grow on me but I need to wear it on a really cold day probably >50 degrees. I live in Texas where Winter is short but it can get really cold at times.
Another great review as always. This one is a definition of a cheapy gem. I got 10 plus hours on cold weather and over 24 on clothes. Do not overspray this one. I didn't get the wet bark you mention but I have to try again once the temps are consistently 40 and under.
@@fragrancefan You were accurate. I spray it on my forearm right after work and got it. Thought maybe I needed a shower. After showering spray it and got it again. I don't get it on the air, it doe die down after a while. Thanks for opening my nose to more scents and aromas
This frangrance smells better after leaving it for while that's Ammer Al Oud for me. I didn't actually like it at first. This fragrance lasts for ever. You can buy for 15 pounds in the uk.
Have you tried shayuk luxe? It's another vanilla oud combo. I'm worried about it now that you said moldy wood! These oud fragrance are definitely love hate
Hi. If you like this one, you should try Lattafa Raghba *Wood Intense* (not the standard Ragbha). Same price range, but even more delicious and smoky, with nuclear longevity, better than this one in your review. 😉 Let the middle east fragrances rest for a while. They will get better in time. My SOTD = Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur Eau de Toilette.

Banger for the money. One of the better winter fragrances. This and Qa'ed for under $20 are winter go to.
qaed is awesome
@@fragrancefan you reviewed qaaed? Is it better than this one?

@RLB1923 i know qaed the original is super good for the price
Hey there Dustin!!! Another great review!!! Love your channel and your insights my brother!! Keep up your great work!! God bless my brother!!
thank you my brother. God bless

It's crazy how good this is for being so cheap too
I will pay $100 for this masterpiece
2 sprays on my neck last all day 2 dates later and compliments this is beast.
I mean in all honesty it is kind of the better version of by the fireplace
@fragrancefan I 👍 agree
Just got this today. Love the spices in it with the oud.
I just wore that one yesterday and it is a compliment getter and super long lasting
I have Ameer Al Oud and really enjoy wearing it. I like that it is not so sweet as By The Fireplace. I like fragrances that project an environment or scenery.

Lattafa makes a bunch of stuff under $20. None of it gets discontinued
Thank you so much for the tip I'm going to look into that one

Can anyone tell me how to macerate perfume i have both this perfume Lattafa Qaaed & Lattafa Ameer al oudh both are great for winter ❤️😘

Maceration for how long ?
its soooo smoky, love it! its nice to wake up in morning and can still smell it on skin
That's how you know it's a good performer and yes there's just something about that smokiness in this thing that's manageable

for being so cheap it's great
Just so happens to be my SOTD. I like it better than by the fireplace

I have one and it's a beautiful Fragrance. The next time put closed caption my first language is spanish I'm From Puerto Rico. Thanks for the Review 💪
In Puerto Rico I heard Nitro red is One of the most popular fragrances
@@efrainsantiago5225 most people use Creed Adventus or one of it's dupe. I have and use Nitro White.

I'm glad you get the wet wood thing that I do make me not feel crazy
I've gotten TONS of compliments on this stuff, it's amazing..and cheap!
I keep hearing that. I think it's because it's so strong LOL
If you first got it, let it sit for 4-6 weeks. It becomes more rounded. I love this at night time. Going to be great when it gets colder out.
I do agree with you, I'll have to wait and see what happens with this one.
Dustin,
Have you tried Qa'ed intense?
I have not smelled the intense but I need to
Sounds like a great fragrance! If I see it at my Burlington or Marshalls I’m going to grab it. Would you say it leans more masculine than By the Fireplace?
I would say equally unisex, my opinion though
This is mostly a masculine fragrance
Why it takes your breath away is cos of the alcohol on first sniff but it settles after a few minutes. It’s a 7/10 for me. Please recommend other fragrances under 50 bucks.

I understand the alcohol part but this is different than that because this is even 15 or 20 minutes into it the fragrance takes my breath away
@emmanuelmangai1241 Nautica Voyage, Lattafa Sublime, Lattafa Ramz Silver, Azzaro Extreme there you go a great list of cheapies.
Sweet and Smokey... I like layering it with Halloween Man X.
I'm going to have to try that because that sounds lovely and they both perform probably about the same
I’m not sure about this one yet I just blind bought it because I wanted to experiment with these Arab fragrances. I love the bottles they make though.
I don't know if this is the right one to experiment with LOL as far as the performance on them it's a decent one to check out but it's kind of bold
