An empty new MB 170 3500Ext AWD Sprinter van costs $100K out the door with tax and license ( in California ) - empty, with all the options you need to build a van like this. That's part of the cost.
@@rvnut1133 they are expensive, but then again so are boats and airplanes, and plenty of people buy / own those. You could always buy used and build one out yourself if you are skilled.
Your not going to pay $230 U can get them for $160k And the quality is such much better than the cheap Thor coaches it’s worth spending the extra money. But no way on earth are you paying full price at $230. I would say they should use a timberline system since the chassis uses diesel. That’s weird they have propane
Nice B Van, but a deal breaker for me is that there is no place for two people to eat. Nice that there is a workstation, but if you are traveling as a couple you need another space. Face it, you can’t always eat outside and I don’t want my plate in my lap. Just wouldn’t work for me. Won’t even talk about the price, but if I am going to pay that much I want it to be a perfect fit.
I concur that this is too expensive. With the price of Class B's it has me thinking about buying a small trailer and and a new vehicle to tow it with. Even with those two purchases I can come in under $100,000.
Hi Matt and Becky! My dislikes are the same as yours. My likes are the bed, the storage and the refrigerator. Thank you so much Matt and Becky and I want wish you all a Happy New Year!
I would like to not only see the centerpiece of the bed be able to convert to a walkway. I would like to see the bed be able to convert into a King Size Bed by connecting both beds all the way from head to foot. I absolutely love that the beds are permanently in place. I would also like to have an old fashioned propane burner in the kitchen. I’m not a huge fan of the induction burners because of needing special pots that don’t always work well with the cooktops. This is a great RV!
Thank you Becky addressing Matt’s inappropriate comment, “You know a thing or two about wood.”. You showed yourself to be a true professional and continued with the video. The show must go on.
With all that power, you'd think they could save time and money by using an induction cooktop, electric instant hot and/or Webasto heater, drawing from the diesel tank, instead of explosive propane. Who needs propane when you've already got two other great onboard power sources?
that's exactly what we are going to be using in the custom Sprinter van we are having built. No propane, no generator, solar and lithium ion batteries only.
With 810 amp hours of lithium ion batteries and 500 watts of solar on the roof, we shouldn’t run out of power before starting the engine to move which will recharge the batteries too.
Very nice van, I’ll give it that. But for a small van with a wet bath, that price is ridiculous. There are some pretty nice class A motorhomes out there that have a lot more room that someone could purchase for the price of this van. Even some class C’s. Definitely overpriced!
Great vid... But this floor plan is so overused... And yeah i know its a lifestyle. But the price is nuts... And its nothing other companies dont do.. Cheers
The only pro for a B van is i can park it on a driveway, and the HOA snitches can say " sheep" (cant curse). But for that price ill rather buy a Class A and use the save money for campsites n RV parks.
Map I have a question for you class a motorhomes and supersedes. Do you need a CDL people say you don’t need it because it’s not considered a commercial vehicle what about the station consider you having a CDL
Like #1 Amish cabinetry. #2 skimping on expensive, often problematic features like electronic/mechanical sliding door. # 3 fridge. Dislikes #1 lithium And propane. Hopefully there is an option to opt out of propane. #2 bed center console. If it could be removed, I'd like it better.
A quarter million for this van is beyond me when you can get a coachmen crosstrail for under 100k and have much better space without it being that much bigger. The only thing i can see being a benifit is if you live in a hoa and want to be stealth but even then for that extra 100k you could buy a plot of land to keep your rv on lol. Rich ppl things. Ill get there one day😂
I like this but Matt please let them know that these need to be fitted 😊for bigger people. I have a son that wants to a quarter 2024 season but he has to get his weight up. When he has games thats out state I can't use this with him. I want a B van because it's gonna be just me n my 7 yr old at the end of the day my other 2 teenagers gonna want to come ever now a then. N i can't even use B+ to see my oldest daughter in dance class. Please tell RV world to help us type of people out
I am not a B van fan but of them all I like the Coachmen units. LOL, Matt pay $200K so you can go to a kid's soccer game and work, uh yeah. Dude you are reaching.
Pure insanity, $230k is the sale price, what the heck is Coacmen & the General smoking these days. You'd think this was built by those grossly overpaid UAW clowns!
I don't see how you can operate the bed lift unless you just sleep in two sleeping bags. I don't think the bed design is good at all and trying to put a topper on it is not really feasible. The storage is good underneath.
Matt, why aren’t you doing the walk around ? Becky’s lack of knowledge with items lower the quality I am use to seeing with you. Is General forcing you to use her?
I’m not an expert, but the lithium batteries power the air conditioning and the microwave oven. The van is driven by a 4 cylinder diesel engine so it’s not a giant Tesla
Manufacturers are out of control - $230K for a van? It just makes absolutely no sense.

Yeah, still makes no-sense to me. I just couldn't justify paying that kind of money for a vehicle unless of course, I was a millionaire.

Absolutely not for that price, rather get a class A, and I personally hate a wet bathroom. Class as more space for the money, even a class C better.
