I read the following suggestion in a children's book about pets: Dogs with long ears definitely need a narrow, high food bowl. What they are doing with the dog's ears is animal cruelty!

Thanks: it's just cause as dog owner I've only ever had retrievers, so the concept of needing to keep the ears of a long-eared dog clean is new to me.
Have you seen spaniel bowls? Slanted so big droopy ears stay out of them.
