- Hello All, In this video i'm showing you my way which I feel is the best way to organise & sort your music as a DJ. This is the 1st time towards using Rekordbox Export Mode.

I have created the folder structure they way you suggested. But how to make the same structure in recordbox through playlist? Do i need to make/sort playlists manually by searching the desired songs and then add to desired playlist in recordbox? Or is there any option that can sort music in recordbox playlists according to the hard drive folder structure automatically.?

Hi i make MASTER folder with many folders in on my computer but when i add my master folder every song are in the library on rekordbox not separate like on my computer
all my song are in the collection but not separate like you
when I drag my master folder from my computer into rekordbox, it just creates a big playlist with no folders, just all the songs. what am I doing wrong?

Hi bro...good video.....I am currently in johannesburg south africa and have been DJing here for around a year. and have seen some of your videos......I wanna clarify one of my confusion regarding playing on keys rather than sorting according to the BPM. The confusion is when we sort according to the keys on CDJ, the matching key tracks come but their BPM difference is a lot many times. So how should we handle such stuff....or if there is any way or website where we can download the music according to the BPM of our choice. Could you please make some separate video on that. Thanks in advance......
Way too complex and RB which has difficulty finding files would probably crash with this spiderweb system. DJs need to learn how to DJ on the fly and not become file managers. I still subscribed because I enjoy your other turtorial videos. Respect to you & Best!

if it’s possible to create all this folder / playlist structure in rekordbox software itself, why do I need folder structure on my laptop? I can just put everything in a DB folder on laptop, import it into rekordbox and create all folders and playlists there
I really like your sorting system! I have one question though: if I export the music to a usb drive and want to go DJing in a club. Will the playlists also appear on CDJ's and other (rekordbox) dj systems? Or are the playlists only working if you use your laptop?
Edit: do you know any mp3 player (android) that would support this playlist system? Or is there an easy way to convert this to a system that's supported by a mp3 player app?
Ps: I'm using a slightly altered version. Instead of dividing the music in genres, I'll divide them using sounds and moods. Examples of sounds: bass heavy, hard kick, wobbly, sharp, minimal. Examples of "feelings": heavy, light, liquid, dark, normal. This way I can find my music even faster, especially for the genre I like (drum and bass)
Playlist will be visible on all pioneer dj players.
What if your software crashes, or you need to change your pc,,,
will you lose all your playlist and you have to create all the Play list again from your main folder??

A bit late here… So I had initially downloaded new music on my laptop and usb to start with (before having rekordbox). My music on usb is already sorted. I notice when I import it to rekordbox that it doesn’t keep my folders at all. Does this mean I have to create the folders/playlists all over again in rekordbox to match my usb?

Great video! but one thing i didnt quite get is the routing. I should place all my music in the general folder of "rbox playlists" and then suborganize them from the software? what would be the use of "everything else" then? in which case do i have to categorize from the finder and when from the rbox app?
Everything else is for the files that are yet to be transferred to the designated folders.

Hey Deep thank you so much for an amazing Video. currently i am using Virtual DJ and the only reason i am using Virtual because the way i organized my files are yearly. for example in HINDI MOVIES i have full movie albums from 1950 until 2023. each year i make a yearly folder and download every movie hindi movie album. and i have yearly folder for every genre. i wanted to know is there a easy way to import all that hindi movies folders exactly that way in RB? if not how should i transfer all those hindi songs in RB? Great video and super informative 🙌🏽 I was just wondering what the best method is to sort music once downloaded as I usually download man y different genres in one day and my DL folder is all over the place. I also like to keep my music in my iTunes which also kind of complicates the matter even further.

I really like the way you organize your music but I'm confused about one aspect. I play a lot of jungle/DnB and have multiple subgenres of DnB. So I made a DnB folder that cascades down into the multiple subgenres such as Liquid, Neuro, Minimal. Do I drop the music files into their subgenre folders based on the playlist or do I put all DnB music files into an ALL DNB folder and then make the subgenre playlists from within Rekordbox? If I make all of the playlists from within rekordbox then all of the DNB files would be in the ALL DNB folder and not the subgenre folders I made.
Depends on how much music you have per genre and sub genre. In your case it would be wise to create a folder with all sub genres and then their respective playlists. But it also works if you just add all dnb in one folder and then create playlists in Rekordbox. Ultimately it's how quickly you can get to the song you need :)cheers.

You can play anything that will make the crowd go crazy.
It's actually not a bad idea to drop in one old popular tune in between your mainstream set. You will get a great reaction coz they won't be expecting that. 🔥

Thanks for the info! One quick questioning though. I am mexican so latín (Spanish music) is needed to have and since there’s litterally a ton of different types from salsa to norteńas should I still stuff all the Latin and Spanish songs into one playlist called “ all Latin” or should I create a Latin playlist then inside of that create each different genre folder with their individual “all ---“ folder? Hey. As I mentioned in the video. It's completely your choice and how you want to find your music. But since you asked me. If I were you I would create one master folder called all latin 1st and then create individual folders inside with each genre and then follow the same pattern in Rekordbox 👍

Thank you for this. I have decided to model your structure. I think you should have mentioned a downside to this method is you are a little committed to Rekordbox. Whilst not perfect, I've heard using iTunes keeps your files free from one software.

Hey. Thanks a lot for watching. Well this method can be used for any dj software. Not just Rekordbox. I m not really a fan of itunes. So I skip that. :) But yeah. A lot of people use itunes to organise music.
@@djdeepbhamra Ok, to clarify. It's my understanding it would be difficult to 'port' over playlists you build within rekordbox to another platform. This is the main concern I hear.

Quite interesting. Well. I have 2 or 3 remixes of some tracks. And I choose to play them according to the crowd. The BPM also differs according to the energy and time at which you'll be playing. I'll make a video on this topic in the future. Thank You. 😇

Hello! I'm using Traktor and was wondering if there was a similar feature on that platform to create playlists in between the folders that were created in the drop down menu? I hope my question makes sense.
I like your system! But im a little confused about one thing. Whats the point of creating subfolders within subfolders if there wont be any songs put there in finder? For example, why create different house genres in finder if all house music is going to be routed to "house music"?
Wondering the same thing. In a reply to someone else he said that it works if you put all your files in an “all house” section for example, then organize accordingly in rekordbox. Copying the files to different folders in the files app sort of defeats the purpose of the all genre folder
Thanks for this video! I noticed that you've renamed some of your remixes as Remix A/B/C/D. Can you tell me the significance of it so that I can apply that logic in my playlists?
Multiple remixes of the same tracks are renamed as A
... D where A being the most played to D being the least. There is some more significance I'll probably share that in one of my future videos.

Hey bro. 4 to 5 gigs a month in dehradun is V. GOOD. Im Happy to hear that. Expanding to other parts of the city requires a lot of online presence and following. Apart from that you also need to be good in marketing yourself. It's not a process I can type in a comment and tell you. But maybe if you can follow me on Instagram. Any city is good if you're best at it. Moving to a different city is quite challenging and there will already be a lot of competition and it may become difficult to survive. I'll recommend you make it to the top in your city and then people from outside will automatically call you. 👍
i already have playlist added but it is not organized the way you are organising your music what i start from strach all my tags all my cue points will just go away how to deal in that way??
No it won't. Don't delete your collection. Only remove the playlist and remake the whole thing :)

No. Just select the playlists and delete. Not the collection. And not the analysis files.
