Sheesh man, this is as close as I've ever heard anyone get to their sound, and that is saying ALOT. There have been so many imposters, so many attempts... but with a synth that truly ANYONE can get their hands on, you've proven that time care and knowledge beats gear any day of the week. I am truly amazed, well done!!
Damn, this is gold! I've had Vital sitting around for a while now but haven't really used it yet. This video definitely convinced me to learn using it!
Such a great tutorial but there is no way to follow along. You leave out a ton of the modulation parameters and that’s the secret to recreating this sound.
Really awesome stuff! This got me where I needed to get to make some background music for videos that match the sound I want instead of relying on the youtube music library. Thanks so much!
This is very well done Anton so don't get me wrong, Thanks allot for your insights here very interesting!... That said something I keep in context & am in even more aww & appreciation of now as to why 'Boards of Canada' are musical geniuses is....to approximate them your needing to use the equivalence of a super computers worth of random automated modulations in like 15-20 steps... to achieve what they nailed by & large with an analog synth & analog tape machine 25+ years ago & this is why BOC will always be Gods among men & have yet to be surpassed.
hey there Anton, I really wanted to understand the sound of the pad and piano intro of the song Music is Math by them, I am not good at understanding the sounds, so would you please make a new video again, to explain a few similar sounds like that in a video? I really want to re-create that sound so badly.
You miss to show us some details sadly ahah None of these patch sounds like yours for me. Tried several stuff but it never sounds even quiet the same. I hit the same note with the exact settings even before your speak about the pitch and it's not the right pitch actually, idk what you've missed actually

Nah bro, you knocked the sounds out the park 🔥🔥

Yeah I noticed he has a patreon I’m sure that’s why. But it’s super cheap like 5$ definitely worth it . Gonna try it out rn
Thank you for this! I really appreciate you taking my comment/request into consideration.

sweet dude, i've been trying to figure this out recently then you just pop up and solve all the mysteries! cheers!
I'm glad you found the video useful. Let me know if there's anything else you would like to solve!
I see this happening all the time - Olson pad is heavily using Ring Mod.
Thank you for this, amazing
unbelievable tutorial man!
i really wanna see what the boys would say about this, this is amazing
Well done! You got really close to the originals
Thank you! I was surprised how close we could get with a free plugin
My favorite band
This is impressive, I don't have access to these tools you used but I learned a lot!
Glad you learned a lot! And you can follow along as we used a FREE plugin called ‘vital’ :)
this is so on point wtf
nailed it ! good stuff
Thank you!
awesome
thanks!!!!
Excellent!
blessings to thee
love the channel, love BoC. keep it up! I'd love a video with some grittier sounds like Lorn or Gesaffelstein!
Gesaffelstein is one of my favs. Btw we've got a video on Lorn acid rain on TikTok. For those sounds its great to use guitar amps to process the synth
INCREDIBLE
Very nice!
Do Reach for the dead, and sundown.
Keep it up
BoC, legends.
Gret video!
This is great...is one able to apply it to different synths (a reface CS) than what you are using? I'm sure the answer is yes...

Coming Soon 👀

Don’t worry man, I’m gonna redo this vid and make it clearer 💪🏾

Let’s goo

goat
Good stuff, what software is that? I only just discovered Panama Fleets whose music is extremely BOC influenced, check them out.
Sorry I have two questions:
•What VST are you using?
•Is there any way to use the same adjustments in FLstudio?
Thanks for the tutorial!
Yeah you can follow along in Fl Studio! Were using a free synth called “vital”
@@AntonProducer ok thanks ;)
0:25 What did you add to the volume and pitch?
Random 1 - Osc 1 Level. LFO 1 - Voice Tune (Pitch)
What is the name of the software you were using? Or is this a plugin?
It’s a free plugin called ‘vital’
@@AntonProducer thanks! :)
what synths did you use in vital?
Not sure what you mean? Vital is the synth we used to create the sounds
PLEASE DO CUCO SYNTHS like
Lover is a day or Neon baby or Cupid’s Quiver
Thanks, ill add it to the list
Man this is great but can you take it a bit slower :D
What VST is this?
