I've never had that happen on mine. Is your door particularly heavy? For a string to keep breaking, it makes me think that maybe there's grit getting into the mechanism causing gri ding friction on the string in there or the string is being put under a lot of force? Try contacting the company. When i reached out to them with a question, they were great about answering it and walking me through it.
