    Super cool workflow using the texture map inside ZBrush! I've never thought of using textures like that at all, and the results speak for themselves.

      @@AbeLeal3D Hey man, I ended up using the technique for the first time after seeing this video a while back. It was very intuitive because I had the textures already done, and was taking a game optimized mesh and turning it into something for 3D print. Thanks again!

    Surprisingly, I think I prefer this speed of video, but it's probably because I know the steps really well already. When I was at a beginner level, I would be afraid of missing or not understanding some of the details, but now I can keep up with the process at a time-lapse speed with commentary.

      thanks! and yeah the idea is to have a mix of real time video and some more "advance" videos covering this sort of thing for people who already know most of the process

    If this teacher had made the channel sooner, he probably could have beaten that donut in the first place. I spent $700 on a platform to learn 3D, and honestly, they sometimes confuses me by worse explanation, especially when English is not my mother tongue tho. However, this guy's explanations are much clearer.

    Hey Abe great video as always ! i have a question - how do i polypaint these engravings to texture them in substance ? Also would this require separate uvs ?

    • @AbeLeal3D
      @AbeLeal3D  5 місяців тому

      Since the engravings are sculpted in the best option would be to use a dirt mask or a curvature mask within substance. They will usually be baked down into a low poly

  • @HAPPYKUBI
    @HAPPYKUBI 10 місяців тому

    Personally I like to do these things in designer and painter since it’s more adjustable especially with anchor points
    If if need to sculpt on it I could just export the uv‘d mesh to zbrush again and sculpt some details if procedural stuff doesn’t suffice

    • @AbeLeal3D
      @AbeLeal3D  10 місяців тому

      Yep I agree, the reasoning I gave for this is in case we want to 3d print for instance. You need to have the sculpted detail

  • @AeditZ
    @AeditZ Рік тому +1

    you also generate this Alpha with Photoshop (As you show in your video) and create height map using substance painter, then put this height or displacement map in Zbrush and apply displacement map on your Subdivid High resolution model! 🤔 that's way you also had low poly model and displacement map and also high poly full detail model. thought on this sir😊

    • @AbeLeal3D

    why not use those alphas and project them in to the subdivided model? its way faster and you have a lot of control

    • @AbeLeal3D
      @AbeLeal3D  Рік тому

      yeah i mentioned it in the video, it could be done with alphas but sometimes its way easier to plan on a flat surface cause alphas tend to deform on curve elements, if you try to do it in a sphere for instance you would struggle to get a uniform depth on all of them.
      this tecnique is particulary good for armor and weapons were the surfaces are curved and conform to a specific body or shape
