This may be the first expansion that I actively play through the MSQ on MCH. The world will be swimming in Vipers so I think I'll just hold on to that job for later. Picto also looks hella complicated so that'll also probably be something that I hold off on until after I finish 7.0.
Personally after seeing the in depth explanation of picto I’m more excited for it than viper
I'm a 14 noob, from what I can tell they have updated a lot of the spell effects for all the classes to bring them more in line visually with Sage/Reaper?
I have a question on PlayStation when pre-ordering Dawntrail. If I’m on free trial and I pre-order it, I know I won’t be able to play the content until I’m officially subbed, but do I still get the pre-order bonuses unlocked on my free trial? I want Zidane and earrings but do not want to sub yet.

That’s an iffy situation. Yeah the earrings really make it worth the pre-order but the issue is you just can’t get to the current content as a free trial. If you do go through it I do hope you get the earrings!
You still got roughly a month to catch up MSQ wise in your free trial! No rush! Just enjoy the game and have fun! Only sub when you feel ready to commit to seeing what the players love about the later expansions! Just know it’s okay if you can’t sub every month! You’ll always be welcomed home when you come back each time ^^

I'm not complaining about the rework, I'm complaining that the job had no changes to dawntrail when it could have had some consolidation in its rotation or changes to the functioning of the ether flows, they added a bahamut but it will work exactly like bahamut 1 so it's just a change that brings nothing other than reskin.
The current summoner although rigid has potential, but they should have reworked the lame ether flow system and added some ogcds, the fact that it is simple is not a problem, we just have to redo the whole system resource management, and I don't think adding leviathan, shiva, ramuh would have corrected the problem.
Just that I find it a shame that the job will remain the same for 5 years with dawntrail without any change other than aesthetic when the job clearly needs even minor adjustments.
it's leaving the job abandoned and wasting its potential because it has a lot of it.
It woulda been nice if they added another summon to the rotation for visual effects. But I do like a rework of visual effects and animations though. Personally I feel like the samurai has many un-samurai-like animations and wish they’d re-do most of the Stormblood animations from the ground up.

Been a smn since the VERY beginning...so sad to see my class once complex and fun turn into ez mode and now beyond that. Since the 1st day playing it I wanted my egi's to look exactly like the primals, alas little did I know it would result into a simple minded rotation and now the fun is gone. I was banking on DT making better improvements but seeing ANOTHER Bahamut....looks like drk or drg for me as a main now. If anyone has seen the FF7 Abridged the Barret rant of different Bahamuts should know this job is becoming meme worthy for it.
I’m on the same boat as you. SMN is actually my only job at 90 and has been since ARR, that’s how much I loved it. I pushed through EW with the hopes that things would be fixed come 7.0. I could excuse another Bahamut if it at least played differently, but it looks like it plays exactly the same as normal Bahamut and Phoenix. Come on, at LEAST make us cast during it… nope, same mindless instant casts for 15 seconds. I guess they are doubling down on the “SMN is the easy job for accessibility” mentality. Basically all SMN got was a new skin for Bahamut for level 100, and a bad one at that. The design isn’t bad, but it looks too mechanical, and more akin to something a machinist would use. Looks completely out of place with the rest of the SMN aesthetic. Yes, Alexander is a robot but the angel wings add an otherworldly feel to it, you know it’s not just a machine. I’ll be switching jobs for the first time since ARR to viper for this expansion.
I agree. As another SMN main, the rework left me feeling very apathetic about Endwalker. Still haven't done the patches or pre-ordered DT.
I played SMN from 2.1 until I “retired” from the game a couple patches into Endwalker. I thought about coming back for Dawntrail, but the SMN actions gave me nothing to look forward to. If anything, I’ll come back to play Viper. Very disappointed.

Same, SMN is dead to me in every way possible and I expect nothing new and interesting with Sol Bahamut compared to Bahamut or phoenix. Heck I’d have preferred something like Shinryu, at least that’s something that looks cool instead of a malnourished Bahamut with sword wings

@@kpoptrashmedz9455 Take it easy, as much as I love Yoshi-P he isn't a saint either(either him or his boss anyway). It's true the team works hard and listens to the fans, most of the time at least, but I even feel that despite DRK gotten a little better and less monotone, it is kinda lazy. The DRK deserves some kind of mid-scope rework.
Look at the black mage, for example, it is Yoshi-P's favorite job yet all it got was 1 spell basically. Now I know what tryhard fans such as yourself are gonna say "YEAH, BUT BLM IS ABOUT DAMAGE DUH, IT DOES NOT NEED MORE SPEELS" if that is your way of thinking, you are missing the point. It's called improvements and QoL, not laziness and moving on.
I think there’s definitely more skills than what they’re showing for DRK. Considering I’m a RDM main, they didn’t use some skills that I use a lot in my rotations. So I’m certain there’s more. If there isn’t, then oh boy DRK mains are going to have an uproar haha
