Cargo van hustle using Dolly App today | $100 per hour

- Today I had the potential to make $400 to $500 easy if it were not for the gig app time restraints. All good tho, made my minimum goal of $200 per day on one order that took 2 hours with the Dolly app.
Thanks for your efforts in educating us about the business, much appreciated, please keep it up
Absolutely, thank you 👍🏾
Keep talking we enjoy your story!🎉
Appreciate that
Smart Man Smart moves 💪
If it was paying to & back it would have been worth it 👌
Absolutely, I learned from prior experience, staying local saves gas, ware and tare, and money can be made in town.
I have driven both the Sprinter and Transit. The transit imo is more car like and better to drive. It uses less fuel/gas. The sprinter also drives like a car with a much posher interior
Yea, both are nice. I still like my transit, but Sprinter is growing on me.
If you could have gotten a backhaul, it would have been worth it to go to the Dallas area.
Absolutely, yea I think I made the right decision on this one. Appreciate the support 👊🏾
great video
Thanks
Another great video
As always, thanks. I see this is your trademark line 👍🏾
@@BigCJCargoVan yes sir
I don`t think the Sprinter has anything more to offer then the Transit, except the fancy badge and the premuim price for the spare parts. After all, the cargo doesn`t care what the van is as long as it is delivered.
Can't argue with you there. I'm not into paying for the name of vehicles.
@@BigCJCargoVan If you are interested in becoming a fleet owner, I think you might want to research the options for acquiring a carshop as well. This will give you a lot better prices for spare parts, consumables, labor, fuel maybe. According to my observations this is a very good and successful formula for the transportation business.
That plus the diesel oil right now is about .60 cents more a gallon than gasoline.
I actually think it's fair that you can't stack orders. There are others out there trying to make some money as well. It wouldn't be fair for one driver to grab multiple orders.
I respect that, but unfortunately its every man for themselves. Gig apps don't care about fair chances.
CJ, how does that work with your helper? How does he get paid? How much is he making?
Helper is on the app as well. Drive with the vehicle always gets paid more. Helper accepts jobs same way I do. They make about 30% less. So if I get $100, they would get about $70 or a little less.
What miles is too high. Looking at 2016 ram 2500 high roof with 150k miles. I uave seen alot of amazon cargo vans hitting the market. I believe its a good price at 17k. Also Im looking to stay local in the chicago area. Any help would be appreciated.
If it was well maintained, good carfax. I wouldn't spend more then 17 to 19 thousand for 150,000.miles Doing local. Based on being able to last another 100,000 miles.
That's tough to answer because everyone has different comfort levels. I think thats a pretty decent price long as the vehicle is in good condition. I personally would not want a van with that many miles, but like I said, everyone is different. I saw a van I was interested in that had 89k miles and they were asking 22k. That's the type of deals I was looking for, but it's tough to find what you want. To answer your question, yes, I think that's a good price. Just take your time and make sure it's a vehicle you really want and feel comfortable with.
What kind of insurance do you have for these apps
I have commercial insurance, 300k, 5k cargo, but you can use regular car insurance. It's not recommended but you can save money.
Yeah, stay local.
Yup, right decision. Drove 119 miles that day as to almost 700 if I took that long haul
What do you prefer? Dolly or GoShare?
Dolly, GoShare sucks in my area.
Hey Cj , so I’m 19 getting ready to start my own cargo business I currently reside in Florida do u think my age will affect anything like me getting loads and stuff
If I could get a 1 on 1 with you that would be perfect
No, just need a DL
Cam dispatch and other delivery apps accept minivan
Yes, all the apps I use allow cars, suv, minivans, cargo vans, and box trucks
Good afternoon 😅😅😅😅
👍🏾
You should at the least get paid a dollar mile there and back if you're going far away. Good call not to do the job
I definitely will roll with the Transit high roof extended. Much cheaper to work on and not have to pay for those Mercedes parts. From my experience of watching you along with a lot of others, all you need is that Ford Transit 250. I forgot exactly what this guy said who has a channel named Eagle Xpress said about why not buy the 350. I think it was something about the gear ratio affecting fuel mileage. I may be grabbing my van next month that's why I've been monitoring so many people.

Oh yea, Andre, I'm subscribed to him. Very good info. I think you can use any size vehicle for the gig apps, but otr I recommend the biggest and longest. You definitely can do it with my van, but I prefer a 350 just for the extra space and weight that you can carry. I'm cheap so I would be sleeping in my van, not in a hotel. Wish you the best with your new van 👍🏾
Appreciate the videos, I just got the same van you got, where and what kind of tie down hooks did you buy
@BigCJCargoVan I ended up getting the 350 Long Wheelbase. Another thing I found out is that the difference between 150, 250, and 350 is the GVWR. The 150 is 8,670, 250 is 9,070 and 350 is 9,500.
The only thing I have difficulty rapping my head around is your quote..smh
Not sure what quote you are referring to
JI MAN FIRST IM HAPPY FOR U AND KEEP GOING HARD IM FROM SAN ANTONIO,TX LIKE U IM USING DISPACH AND I DONT KNOW WHY I DONT
SEE ANY GIGS ON THE APP I CONTACT THEM BUT EVRYTHING IS AUTO ANSWER CAN U HELP ME UNDERSTAND THAT APP THANKS
Yea, Dispatch is hit and miss. Not a lot of orders coming out for cargo vans right now. I recommend signing up for multiple gig apps. Get on Roadie, GoShare, Frayt, Dolly etc. Contacting Dispatch won't help with orders. Only thing you can do is try to help them grow the market. If you know a company that can use Dispatch services, you can send their info to Dispatch marketing department.
