The Ford F-Series is a series of light-duty trucks marketed and manufactured by Ford since the 1948 model year. The F-Series is marketed as a range of full-sized pickup trucks positioned above the midsize Ranger but below the larger Super Duty in the Ford truck lineup.[1] Alongside the F-150 (introduced in 1975), the F-Series also includes the Super Duty series (introduced in 1999), which includes the heavier-duty F-250 through F-450 pickups, F-450/F-550 chassis cabs, and F-600/F-650/F-750 Class 6-8 commercial trucks.
Introduced in 1957, the third generation F-Series was a significant modernization and redesign. Front fenders became integrated into the body, and the new "Styleside" bed continued the smooth lines to the rear of the pickup.
The cab-over F-Series was discontinued, having been replaced by the tilt-cab C-Series.
In 1959, Ford began its very first production of factory four-wheel-drive pickups.
The F-Series was first introduced in 1948 as a replacement for a previous pickup model line based on car platforms.
The most popular version of the model line is the F-150 pickup truck, currently in its fourteenth generation (introduced for the 2021 model year). From 1953 to 1983, the entry-level F-Series pickup was the 1⁄2 ton F-100. Starting in 1984, the F-150 became the entry-level. The F-150 has a long-running high-performance off-road trim level introduced for 2010, the (SVT) Raptor currently consisting of three generations. Production of the F-150 SVT Raptor ended in 2014 and it was planned to be succeeded by a new F-150 Raptor, which is based on the thirteenth and fourteenth generation F-150.
The F-Series trucks have been developed into a wide range of design configurations. Alongside medium-duty trucks and "Big Job"[clarification needed] conventional trucks (the forerunners of the Ford L-series), the model line has been marketed as a chassis-cab truck and a panel van (a predecessor of the Ford E-Series). The F-Series has served as the platform for various full-sized Ford SUVs, including the Ford Bronco, Ford Expedition/Lincoln Navigator, and Ford Excursion. The F-Series has been marketed by its three North American brands: by Mercury as the M-Series (in Canada from 1948 to 1968), and by Lincoln in the 2000s, as the Blackwood and the later Mark LT (2010s for the latter in Mexico only).
Since 1977, the F-Series has remained the best-selling pickup truck line in the United States; it has been the best-selling vehicle overall since 1981.[2][3] The F-Series has been the best-selling truck in Canada for over fifty years.[4][5][6] As of the 2018 model year, the F-Series generated $41 billion (~$47.3 billion in 2022) in annual revenue for Ford.[7] By January 2022, the F-Series models have sold over 40 million units.[8] Currently, Ford manufactures the F-Series in four facilities in the United States. - Авто та транспорт
I don’t think I’ve ever anticipated a kit as much as I have this one! Thanks for sharing.
My dad had a 1960 F100 when I was growing up so this kit will definitely be built 👍👍
Super cool kit. For the tires, shaving the locator ridges on the wheels to half height or lower should make them easy to install without struggling too hard or risking breaking something.
I will buy a few of these. They need to do 1957 to 1959 as well and I would like to see an airport stairs truck with the various vintage American airline decals.
This kit represents the year I was born, 1960. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this one before so now I will have to add this to my wish list.
I will definitely be adding this one to my collection.
I really like these shorter build videos!
This is only an unboxing, it is not a build video.
On my list to get!!!! 👍👍
Too bad they didn't do the exhaust separate from the chassis pan. Great preview!
The lake pipes were capped till you wanted to make noise. Side pipes were open all the time. Son of a great exhaust man your welcome
Great looking kit.
Nice review.
Thanks for sharing 😊
Nice unboxing and review! Good to see what's in the box! I've got a couple of these planned!
Can't wait for this one!
Good to see the mainstream companies trying to keep up with Moebius
I've had a few '57-60 F100's, including a '60 bbw swb with a '57-58 hood. Really stoked about this kit, hoping to find a '57 conversion for this kit.
Great unboxing video !!!! Great Kit
Definitely need this for my collection!
Oh yes I can't wait to get one of these kits .
Thank you Cris for the quick but cool review looks like it will be a good kit to build an thank you for your time putting this video together 👍🏻👍🏻
I was gifted one of these in 1973 from an old friend's son when his dad died. I had long lusted for the truck and the son didn't want it - so it came to me. It was set up for the he U.S. Forest Service but sold to the public instead as an over stocked vehicle. Light mint green. I drove the truck from my home in Colorado Springs to my new job in Seattle. I drove my son home from the hospital when he was born in this very truck. What a menmory flogger. I've signed up for one. Thanks Chris, for sharing!
Very nice looking kit. I just wish the rear end wasn’t molded to the chassis. Thanks for sharing.
Looking forward to seeing the buildup, great unboxing video. I will picking up this one and the ‘63. Maybe multiples.
One of my favorite years of Ford truck.. looks like a nice kit.. one could hope they'll do the panel truck as well
Its about time!!
Looks great. How about some pre 1972 Dodge Trucks Round2??
Moebius has some excellent Ford kits from 65 to 72. Don't know why no one is doing Dodges. They would be awesome! Or International pickups!
Hi Chris, this lookx to be a great kit, I do like the look and style of the older US pick-up trucks, hope to see the build episode soon, best regards from Australia
Might be nit picky here. I do custom builds. Sometimes race performance. I find it very limiting when they make the bottoms with differential and exhaust molded in.
Cool looking car and great informative review!! Thanks for sharing!
This should go nicely with the 1960 Chevy truck that came out in the early 2000s that has been reissued a few times. Now it'd be nice to bring out the equivalent Dodge.
Been really excited for this one & this video just adds to it 😆 can't wait, hope they come into canada just as quick
Nice AMT F-100... Extra Trailer is a nice touch... I have trouble removing chrome parts and having sprue marks, anyone have a simple solution? Do I just touch up with chrome paint?
Ordered. Thanks for your great videos. Keep em coming, I'll keep watching
Nice review, I think I'm sold lol. Your videos have taught me a lot. I'm working on a junker 67 Mustang. Oh and I fixed the front wheel issue you had in your video on this car. You felt the fronts stuck out too much. I agreed and think I got a good stance.
Wheels look like something from a Moebius kit
Real nice kit mate👍
I ordered one waiting for it to show up
This is what I’ve been waiting for!!! Looking to order this the 63 Ford pickup and the warlock. Hope to see announcement for orders soon! Thanks for making my day. This is GREAT.
awesome kit.. looking forward to the build.. thx 4 sharing... vinny
Awesome. I can't wait to get this kit
Excellent presentation Chris.
Can't wait to see the color you pick for the truck and if you build the trailer always love the 50's and 60's truck they are tuff looking have a great day
Can't wait to get a couple of those!
Very nice review and I have extra parts for the kit in the future. Keep up the great work and have a great day.
That's awesome! I owned 2 59s and a 61. Guess I could afford one again.
you do the building of this kit with the stock red/withe version please.
Wow what a cool ford f100 😃
No production stock carburetor/air cleaner for 292 V8 in this kit, nor an I-6?
That is a disappointment, Round2. I expected a stock build option.
I was planning to buy multiple kits, to paint in different color combos, but not sure I will buy more than one now.
Awesome kit sucks that everything is molded in the frame
ITS ABOUT TIME!
retooled early release kit, should be an interesting build
It'd be really cool if this kit would SHIP! Does anyone happen to know what the delay is this time?????
This kit is very cool, and I'll probably pick one up. However, since Round 2 retooled this kit, I wonder why they didn't update the chassis to include separate exhaust and rear axle.
I could see some kit bashing in the future
here is a trick take the tires and soak them in hot water for 5 minutes and slip the rims on the tire it should help
wheel pants?!!! thats funny!
That's what they call the covers on airplane landing gear.
Dang you Chris! I just paid off my credit card bill
Just tell 'em that wheel pants are what fender skirts are called on aircraft....
17:33 Louvers, every annual had then.
Wheel pants! 😅😅😂
Lake pipes get the name from the manufacturer..... Lake Industries.
Aircraft have wheel pants ( think German WWII Stuka ). Cars and trucks have fender skirts.
I like “wheel pants”. Because Chris’ models “take-off”.
Any reason why the driveshaft runs diagonally to a rear differential that’s not centered? I can’t imagine that was factory engineered from Ford.
Are amt’s new mold products of good quality?
I assembled AMT's Ford LNT8000 product, and although it may be because it was a 1971 model, the quality was poor.
Does anyone know why it takes so long for Hobby Lobby to get new models in stock? They have to be at least 6 to 8 months behind. I live too far away from the big city to have any other hobby stores.
You can always buy directly from Round2 at autoworldstore.com or from a small hobby retailer like modelroundup.com and keep the little guys in business. They get all the new releases immediately.
I know but I am being a cheap skate waiting for the monthly 40% sale a H L 😂
I know I'm gonna get slaughtered in the comments, but can somebody explain to me what the hype is about this kit? I see modelers going nuts all over the place... I mean, I love the subject matter, and I want it, but the promo nature, toy-like chassis turns me way off, especially given that it'll sell for the same price as an all new tooled model kit... I don't get why R2 put money in restoring promo-style molds instead of doing it justice... I'm happy with the Demon since I can make it work with a better chassis from the Duster kit, but I don't know of any other kit that could be a proper donor for this Ford! And before all of you destroy me, please note that I really want to love this kit, but it's really hard for me at the moment! Please change my mind!
I never stood why model companies make model kits with the chassis with suspension n exhaust molded in..that's a big let down for me..This is another kit I won't be buying.
Have a great build. 🛻
