@@EsoxLucius21 Dentistry in the Colonial period was pretty basic and that is not what caused Jefferson's debt problems. He imported all types of wines and finery from Europe, was a lavish entertainer and basically insisted on living far beyond his means. Dentistry was not the issue.

I finally got a chance to fulfill a life goal going to Mt Rushmore last winter and it was everything I’d always dreamed it was.

I'm a huge fan of Custer. Custer was a figure who was greatly respected until recent years. His legacy is tainted by revisitionist history and his detractors, but the narrative you've heard about him is likely incorrect. Even this summary is an oversimplification. It is worth pointing out that the Crow were our most fervent allies during the wars against the plains tribes. The reason is, as you've said, that their land was taken by the Lakota and the Cheyenne. This was a deeply oppressed tribe that had been on the losing side of many a tribal war. In fact, the land upon which the Sioux and Cheyenne defeated Custer, which was off of their reservation, was Crow land.

The Hopi have been battling for generations to keep the populous Navajo from taking what little land remains to them. The peaceful Pima of Arizona were farmers and even invented dry farming, irrigation ditches etc. and THEIR constant and brutal enemies were the Apaches who kidnapped them murdered them and enslaved them for hundreds of years.

It’s actually similar to the slave trade. Middle Eastern countries purchased a lot, lot more slaves than the USA - yet they don’t have issues with people playing victim & screaming for reparations.

How can you call Israel a settler nation? America I get, because we ARE. But Israel is occupying the SAME land they have owned since God HIMSELF ordered them to take it from the hands of the Cananites. God CREATED the land of Israel as well as the rest of the world, it's HIS to do with as He pleases.....and He pleased to give it to the Israelites.
The Cananites had the SAME option to worship the one true God that the Israelites did. Had they DONE that, there would have been no REASON for God to take the land away from them. They chose to worship a false "god" and practice abominable things like child sacrifice instead, so God took their land away from them and gave it to Israel.
He ended up taking it away from the Israelites for THEIR practice of idolitry later on, but ordered that it remain unoccupied until the Israelites returned.
Well, they've returned; and they're WELL within their rights to evict the squatters that misappropriated their land while they were gone. The Palistinians should be THANKING the Israelites that they've been generous enough to let them live in their basement rather than evicting them completely. But since they can't be appreciative of that mercy, and insist on biting the hand that feeds them, they deserve what they get. Play dangerous games, win dangerous prizes.

I got into Custers last stand monument for free, the computers froze up. The man was an Indian and said go ahead. That is sacred ground no matter what side and I prayed for the dead. This was like 1999.

I agree with everything you have said, except for the Lakota treaty. The American government made a treaty it did not keep. I don’t think the previous actions of the Lakota change that.
After the treaty, the Lakota obviously did not run the settlers off, because they trusted the government to keep the treaty. Instead, after gold was discovered in the Black Hills, the army killed off buffalo by the hundreds. They would drive them into stampedes that ended in a deep ravine, where the buffalo would fall and die. It was sickening, and cruel, and eventually caused starvation among the Lakota.
That is why the second treaty is not a valid nullification of the earlier one - they were driven to sign it to avoid dying of starvation.
I don’t have an easy solution either. But I don’t think it can be reasoned away.

The funny thing about the decolonization movement is that it is not so much returning land to 'native" people as removing whites from the land than to be occupied by POC. Where is the movement in the Caribbean islands that the African descendants of the slave trade leave these islands and return to Africa, returning the land to the Taino Indians?

That's not necessarily 100% true, and it depends on different variables like how many ppl one has fighting the battle vs how many ppl are attacking. It'd be very difficult for 10 million ppl to fight off 150 million, and it also depends on the kinds of weapons each side has like 300 million ppl with swords would lose to only 10 million with guns, so it's not just about which side has the sheer will to live and survive if they don't possess the right weapons to defend themselves and enough ammunition to fend off millions of invaders, but I do understand where you're coming from because it's usually the ppl who possess the will to fight and die until the end that are the victors, but the amount of soldiers and weapons they possess certainly makes a difference and must be taken into account before fighting such a battle. Even though Israel has 10 million citizens they have the most technologically advanced military in the middle east, and it's what makes Israel capable of defending themselves while being surrounded by enemies on all sides, but they haven't lost a single war to date and never will yet America has a massive military with the most advanced weapons on earth and yet we lost Vietnam, Afghanistan and many other battles, so there are many variables involved when it comes to war, especially if you're fighting a battle on the adversaries turf, which gives defenders a home court advantage.

A thing like that happens once every few days for me, wether in a store, walking my dog in my area or at the gym. So just cause 100 people pass by in their car while I’m on a walk and don’t say anything , I DO REMEMBER when the 1 out of 1 hundredth person does an Indian scream at me while they go by and yells INDIAN!! … do you get why it doesn’t matter that most people are tolerant nowadays when the few still aren’t? What about the crusades and the Spanish Inquisition? They weren't hassitant to do a little slaughtering themselves let alone the torture by the S.I..
The crusades were a response not an attack. The holy land and Europe (which were primarily Christian) were being conquered at an astounding rate by various Muslim groups (who were also fighting among themselves). The Inquisition while it could have gone better was a compromise. Most common folk preferred the religious tribunals. They were given a choice to be tried by the secular courts or the Catholic. The punishments of the local governments were far worse compared to the Catholic.

Modern non Christian conquest .... such as Iraq of Kuwait. Barbaric is a term that could be used to describe it.

But don't worry I came back three days later. Proof! How could I have written this if I didn't come back from the dead? The End. By the way, I did find the Jesus looking dude after I came back from the dead. Ironically his name was Jesus but with the Spanish pronunciation. He was in awe of my miracle recovery from death and has become one of my apostles. I am sure my story will be written about in about a hundred years. Now is a great time to get in on the ground floor...I am sure there is a lot of money to be made.

Michael, you didn’t mention WHY the Ojibwe, Sioux, etc moved west into the territory of the Cheyenne and the other tribes you mentioned. They were all being pushed west by the settlers who seized the land and resources that they depended on to survive. Migrate or starve.

it's about records and deed legitimacy but the problem is the nature of oppression has too many instances of deeds being created out of illegitimate means of coercion including killing or forced marriage of the families etc who had no voice and were hostages of their new conquering masters

What!? The notion of records and deeds of legitimacy was brought into fruition by those colonies. Before that, as stated in the clip, the Asian colonizers fought wars with each other and seized land from those that lost. The Sioux lost and that’s it.
