The animations they have to explain the disk/spine procedures are fantastic. It's so difficult to visualize the column and facet joints, and these videos make it much easier.

It's not as complicated as you think when you just take the time to learn the anatomy, like most things.

@@AtlanticSpineCenter I'm not any worse now than before. Maybe better? But the key for me is to stay very active. I just avoid things that cause flare-ups/inflammation (sitting too long, especially). I very rarely use ibuprofen. My job keeps me constantly on my feet, and twisting and bending. So that's my best therapy.

His mother passed away 5 weeks after his surgery so his PT had to be delayed and then stopped for 3 weeks and then resumed. Now almost a year later he's doing quite well -- not perfect but so much better than before the surgery.

Endoscopic surgeries by design are minimally invasive which statistically have shorter windows of time in surgery that traditional surgery techniques. That said, every situation is different and it is best to discuss your options with a medical professional.

What if you have this problem on both sides? I have this on both sides between L4 & L5. This video shows the endoscope coming in from the side. My problem is that when I lay on either side in bed, it pinches my leg nerve.

Its hitting on sciatica, it can be done from both sides dont worry. But only go for endoscopic surgery and not for open microdiscectomy thr recovery rate of time is very long compared to endoscopic surgery my frnd

If your suffering from spinal stenosis, you should look into a Laminectomy. It's a minimaly invasive procedure that can give you relief. This procedure is for people suffering from Foraminal stenosis. Similar problem, just different area of the spine. I'm 4 back surgeries in, just wanted to point you in the right direction. Good luck.
