That wasn't the reason at all. The reason to take Russian land is if Trump gets in power then the wont support Ukraine meaning they have to surrender. You don't understand, US, UK and EU have been preparing for this war since 2014. US Senator Richard Black said: "The decision for war was made in US..." This war has very clear objectives: 1. Currently, over 78% of Ukrainian agricultural land belongs to international companies, 52,3% -- to US; UK wants to have its naval bases on the Black Sea (before the war it had one near Ismail but it is now largely destroyed); Ukraine has $12 TRILLION worth of critical minerals wanted by US (US Senator Lindsey Graham) and 90% of it is in Donbass. US, UK and EU will fight this war to the last Ukrainian.

The situation along the front in eastern Ukraine is critical and continues to deteriorate. Unlike before, it is almost impossible to identify the geographical focus of the Russian offensive. Of course, Pokrovsk, but if we are honest, Russia is also advancing along the entire 50 km south to Vuhledar. To the north of there, Toretsk is the focus of the Russian army, but not only that. Russian offensive efforts are also underway in Chasiv Yar. And for the first time in almost two years, they are also advancing again in Luhansk and eastern Kharkiv. The Ukrainian army has a whole host of problems that it cannot currently deal with. Geographically very thinned out (keyword Kursk), but also too many fresh and therefore still inexperienced soldiers, too few capable leadership personnel and of course the well-known disaster: far too little Western support in terms of weapons and ammunition. The Ukrainian soldiers can hardly explain the catastrophe. In some areas, areas are falling so quickly that they suspect an order to retreat. They also consider rotations that have already been carried out and planned to be dangerous for holding the front. The Ukrainian adventure in Kursk has not been able to achieve any astonishing results. Now, Kyiv is burning their reserves that in other cases may have been used to support its crumbling defense in the Donbass. There have been several variations on a joke going around that says, “Georgi Zhukov appeared to Putin in a dream and said that to defeat Russia’s enemies he must send the bravest Ukrainians to the front”. Though amusing, I wonder what Eric Von Manstein might say to Zelensky if he came to him in a dream perhaps it would be, “Whatever you do, don’t try to turn the war around with a Kursk offensive” The number of people signing up to serve in the Russian army has skyrocketed, with more than six times as many recruits in 2024 compared to last year. In the first half of 2024, 166,000 people received a one-time payment for joining, up from just 26,700 during the same period in 2023.
Russia broke through the lines whilst a rotation was happening and gain a large amount of ground, Ukraine had to do something to try to get russia to pull troups from the lines where the break through happened, this didnt work as they pulled troups from else where in eastern Ukraine. This gained land from russian territory can be used to trade lands in any peace talks in the future. Also ukraine needed to do this so they can hit the airfields that are hitting ukraine troups on the line in ukraine as the west would not give permission to hit these airfields..
200,000 people have been sent fleeing. it might not seem like much for us behind the computer screen, but Im pretty sure that for those settlements, this sucks.
The perceived invincibility of the Russians stems from the Red Army’s victory against the Nazis, where it used Human Wave Tactics with no concern for the resultant astronomical casualties. But history does not support this Russian invincibility, with the Russians losing many conflicts: The Russian-Japanese war (1904-1905) First World War (1914-1917) The Soviet-Poland war (1919-1921) Winter war against Finland (1939-1940) Afghan war (1979-1989) First Chechnya war (1994-1996) The Cold War (1945-1992) The outcome of the Russia-Ukraine war (2022-?) is not yet known, but Russia is far from winning and western military support of Ukraine with the weapons they need would make victory near certain NATO should now call Putin’s bluff by significantly increasing the defence budget of member countries and increase its military aid to Ukraine, with the weapons they need
How you can have the excellent Mark Galeotti on as an expert, but come to the most lazy conclusions is mystifying. That’s some razor-sharp editing to arrive at your own point. The forces that invaded Kursk were securing from a Russian counter-offensive from being repeated in Sumy and Ukraine got the drop on Russia. Far from “not taking the bait” all of Russia’s offensives except Pokrovsk & Vuhedar have notably now ceased in the last month as 60,000 Russian troops (Moscow’s figure) have been redeployed there. Not sure how you quote an unnamed “top General” in Ukraine saying the Kursk strategy hasn’t worked, when the most senior General Syrskyi said exactly the opposite just 2 days ago. Also the idea that Russia’s advance in Donbas (half of the distance Ukraine’s moved in Kursk) will get them any closer to destabilising Ukraine is pretty facile. Russia’s goals are always 1-2 major cities away from success, but it’s been that way since 2022 and still Luhansk and Donetsk are the only major Ukrainian cities in their hands, as they were after the 2014 push. Yet still Russia look fragile in defence, so how can they hope to hold this territory without an international peace designed to apease an aggressive fascist state. Is someone in your organisation being paid $100,000 a video by Russia Today?
LOL. Kursk offensive has been stalled by Russia. Look miss, THERE ARE NO MORE GOOD NEWS FROM BBC, CNN, NBC about Kursk. It is because Ukrainian forces have been stopped by Russian forces. In the eastern part of Ukraine, Russian advances are progressing. That is why Ukraine is begging for more weapons. Even your coveted F-16 is nowhere.

Was Zelensky hoping that Russia would overreact, 9:58 giving an excuse for Nato to enter the war directly.
What is happening in Ukraine is terrible, but a larger war is not the solution. It's time for the politicians to start doing some work towards ending this war.
That wasn't the reason at all. The reason to take Russian land is if Trump gets in power then the wont support Ukraine meaning they have to surrender. The problem is Russia get to keep what land they took. meaning Ukraine concede to land loss. But if they have Russian land, then they can negotiate for swapping land for land. Much of this is probably wishful thinking by Trump, because several months the negotiation, Russia will rebuild its military and attack Ukraine again. Like they have since 2014. And the war will start again. So basically Trump is going to ruin things if he gets into power.
Russia need to go home and care about there own country and not steal someone elses
You don't understand, US, UK and EU have been preparing for this war since 2014. US Senator Richard Black said: "The decision for war was made in US..."
This war has very clear objectives: 1. To weaken (or destroy) Russia; 2. To appropriate all of Ukraine's natural resources.

How many Ukrainians are left ?
Though amusing, I wonder what Eric Von Manstein might say to Zelensky if he came to him in a dream perhaps it would be, “Whatever you do, don’t try to turn the war around with a Kursk offensive”
The number of people signing up to serve in the Russian army has skyrocketed, with more than six times as many recruits in 2024 compared to last year.
In the first half of 2024, 166,000 people received a one-time payment for joining, up from just 26,700 during the same period in 2023.
Accurate
👍

But history does not support this Russian invincibility, with the Russians losing many conflicts:
The Russian-Japanese war (1904-1905)
First World War (1914-1917)
The Soviet-Poland war (1919-1921)
Winter war against Finland (1939-1940)
Afghan war
(1979-1989)
First Chechnya war
(1994-1996)
The Cold War
(1945-1992)
The outcome of the Russia-Ukraine war (2022-?) is not yet known, but Russia is far from winning and western military support of Ukraine with the weapons they need would make victory near certain
NATO should now call Putin’s bluff by significantly increasing the defence budget of member countries and increase its military aid to Ukraine, with the weapons they need
It means yet more failure for Ukraine.

Is someone in your organisation being paid $100,000 a video by Russia Today?
dunno im wondering who is paying you though...you can write as much as you like doesn't alter the fact Russia is winning
We will know the truth well after the peace is signed, like all things there must be an end. Until then enjoy the pageantry & your tax pounds being spent in the name of freedom & democracy. I am still clueless to what that means because no one agree what it means nor does. Is freedom being able to get cancer amongst others from excess radiation due to climate change & the chemicals from our food or is that democracy.
After two half years neither side is winning for someone who has always been interested in warfare this is the most boring war I've ever watched. Russia comes out the worst with all the military might should have had at the beginning make an easy victory then fluffed it. Then Ukrainians did the same with that quick advance from Kharkiv without pushing further. It's like watching two old blind men having a fist fight in the back garden getting nowhere. What a waste of lives 😮

FYI ... Ukraine did not have any Nuke. The Soviet Union had Nukes in Ukraine, because Ukraine was a state of the Soviet Union. Remember it is always important to explain things correctly.
@@vivianpryce7885 .that is somewhat correct., however with no more USSR the nukes had to be destroyed or sent to Russia who was also a state of the Soviet Union.....The West was stupid enough to think that Russia was the safest place for nukes.,....so THEY facilitated the agreement that saw all nukes removed from Ukraine and taken to Russia ......in return for the guarantee of border security. Ukraine was basically a nation with little military up until 2014 and would not have needed much.
