I made a community post when 1.0 was announced for this game. Someone had commented and said that it wasn't as good as the first game and I didn't want to believe them but they were kinda right. This game has some.... issues, not bug related it's more content related. It has fun moments and mechanics but overall something feels very off about it. Despite having such a vibrant and lively world, it feels a bit soulless but idk that's just me.
Hey Zera, Im playing through it right now And I agree. I think the game and its story is trying to do too much. we have: space ships, alternate reality shadow worlds, actual demons that are killed by crosses. our previous protagonist making two cameos. cultists doing uhhh something? and a whole bunch of Trained, armed mercenaries being bested by cannibals that haven't advanced enough to make a bow and arrow. I think this game should have stayed in development for another 1 or 2 years. It has too much going on and too much stuff going in different directions. especially when it doesn't answer the implications of the last game. apparently after the frist game the protagonist wrote an entire book about how a multibillion dollar pharma company harvested children to use on alien technology. how does that affect the world when its revealed that there's an island infested with cannibals and mutants? that'd be so interesting to know. it needs a ton of development, voice acting and sound design and a thorough rethinking of the story and experience they want to share.
Map is too big, mutants aren't as scary since you have weapons that can kill them really easily, and building is extremely grindy and you can't make the cool turns and twists like you could in the first game, also the achievements suck in this game, at least in the forest they were unique, now its just achievements for placing blank amount of logs and surviving blank amount of nights, and still doesn't have as many achievements as the first game. Mag too big, guns, removal of blueprints, basically they tried reinventing the wheel for a sequel that should have the same gameplay elements as the first game, not try to make a completely different game. (Also the genre changed from survival horror to action horror, another big thing)

13:45 just so you know at full release they added the ability to plate bone armor with solifite like most of the weapons. However at that time in progression following your play through path that would be the best armor at that time.
solifite plated bone armor is the best armor, with adding 130 hp, and tech armor adding 100 hp. Armor is for the most part and extension of health the player having 300 hp at level 100 strength and at 0 strength having 100 hp. For perspective leaf armor gives 20 hp, leather giving 40 hp, bone 65 hp, creepy 80 hp, tech 100 hp, plated bone 130 hp. With full plated bone and level 100 strength a player can become a tank capable of having 1600 hp.

i did a similar challenge where i didnt use any ranged weapons and i realised the katana is CRAZY overpowered. i did a bit of testing and once plated with solafite it becomes way better than even the shotgun
Hey Zera, I am currently on my first playthrough of the game, but I picked hard survival😂 so I died a lot and I haven’t ever been at 100% health yet (it’s been 16 hours) and I’ve just got the pistol and the supressor😂. Do you have any recommendations for me?
Personally, immediately get the modern axe, learn to use power attacks and doge. Craft a bow, headshots will almost one shot any cannibal, jumping is something that burns a lot of stamina so only do it to doge a attack if needed. Most of the time simply facing the enemy and holding s and left shift to doge the attack then attacking them, also by right clicking you can parry an attack only recommending this for cannibals not mutants and the window is small for mutants. Blocking will reduce the damage taken not stop it, and blocking will eat through stamina. But remember your character is a olympic athlete that can run for a long time, simply sprinting and occasionally dodging you can get away from most stuff, or into the ocean. Cannibal will not go into shallow salt water so a base in the salt water you can walk on is good, as it will not freeze in winter. That and watching guides their are many quick guides that are good. This is all a personal recommendation off my experiences so take it with a gain of salt.
