Also to add in the Nescafé coffee commercial. The Host who serves Davison coffee is the late Gareth Hunt who played Arak in Planet of the Spiders and was Mike Gambit in the New Avengers. Also in Who connection. In the mid 70s MEGO recycled a Mike Gambit doll for the Doctor Who line up in the form of the 4th Doctor.
13:42 I remember those "Prestige" saucepan adverts, and don't think I've seen them since they first aired! Re lifetime guarantees, that reminds me of an old gag: "I bought a watch with a lifetime guarantee... when the main spring goes, it slashes your wrist"
My late dad had some of these in around that time and they only lasted for 3 years before he died in 1989.... But by even then the company went out of business.
Your videos are so well done and feel so professional...Why don't you have at least a 100,000? I guess people are just missing out. Anyways, what are your thoughts on Warriors of the Deep? I know its controversial but I love that episode (I know I'm crazy). I just love the Sea Devils and Silurians (even with the Myrka because its so bad it's funny). I love the stakes, the Fifth Doctor's acting, and the ending that shows the dark side of traveling with the Doctor. "There should've been another way."
Thank you so much for your kind words Ezra! 😊 and I think Warriors of the Deep is underrated! If you look past the clunkiness i think there's a cracking story! The Target book does it so much more justice!
@@AdamMartyn Yeah, there are many underrated gems in the Classic Who series! I just don't know how I feel about Timelash...I don't hate it like most because I think the make-up for the Borad is quite good (for the 80's), but the ambassador and the time corridor leaves a lot to be desired. I do love Colin as he is one of my favorite Doctors!
If I were Doctor Who showrunner, I would throw in a reference to this old commercials. Maybe we'll have scene where a character visits UNIT and something happens and they have to hide in the cupboard next to the cleaning products and briefly the audience can spot some morning fresh. And maybe some line later in the episode where Kate said: "Ah, dad's favorite cleaning product." Just something subtle that doesn't take away from the main story.
6:14 Listening to the Dulux Ad, I think there may be a secondary Doctor Who reference in the ad. Are you sure that's not Nicholas Courtney, The Brigadier, providing voiceover. Whoever it is really sounds like him, if not.
You could tell that Ocean Finance would run in the daytime mostly. I dunno why, it just feels like there was less effort and money spent on it compared to the big guys like Churchill or State Farm or whatever. Not to say there's no effort put into it whatsoever, because there is, it's just not in any danger of winning any awards, although it's still good.
Half of these sound like titles FOR Doctor Who episodes. Also, no love for the various PSAs Christopher "Never-Skip Nine" Eccleston was in? Skipped over again. :c

Fun to spot the Doctor Who actors! If only the schedules had aligned to get more than one of them at the same time! 😄
Oh could you imagine! Having several in one ad would be fantastic! 😁

8:33 If it really WAS "Horror of Fang Rock", the ad would be interrupted by some git in a Max Headroom mask for 5 minutes.

It does sound like him! Hmmmm maybe I'll take a browse of Nic Courtney's CV....
Your bit on Kit Kat's made me howl! Xxx
Suprised the Any old Iron Hammerite Ad was not in these hint look in the background of it for the reason why.
that was brilliant!!
