    Have you tried plugging it in to a PC on Linux? Okay to get drivers?

      I haven't tried it, but it seems there is software for Windows: www.geniatech.eu/software-mygica/

    Do you know (or could you check) if this reveiver also works with the Plex app? I'm looking for a viable solution for watching FTA on my Nvidia Shield (which is android based and has Plex)

      Looks like people can get it sort of working. I don't use Plex, but you can find lots of posts. www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/u58faq/trying_to_set_up_live_tv_issue/

      Not sure if there are differences between the models.

    Do you have link for this android tv tuner? Available for Malaysia region? Can it use with android 11 phone?

    • @LivingLinux
      @LivingLinux  Рік тому +1

      According to their specs, it should work with Android 6 and higher. But you do need a device with h265 hardware decoding. But I think any device from the last couple of years should be fine (unless it is a really low budget phone).
      They have their own shop.

      Or AliExpress. www.aliexpress.com/item/32919086252.html

      Using PT275C ISDB-T and select Malaysia as region when I’m in Maldives, Sri Lanka and Botswana. It worked. Same frequency 8 MHz Eurasian / African DTV frequencies for DVB-T2, DTMB and ISDB-T.

    Does it overheat when watching over time?

      It gets warm, but I don't think it gets hot. No problem after more than an hour. Doesn't look like it gets warmer. Might be different with tropical temperatures.

    presumably, it doesn't require internet connection?

      Exactly. But you need to be within the range of a broadcast antenna. And when you are indoors, a better antenna can help. And you need the correct version for your country. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVB-T2

      No, even with a big outdoor antenna, don't expect to pickup signals from more than 100km away.

      I don't know. Does Ecuador broadcast DVB-T2? Better ask the company MyGica directly.

    The application does not support all countries of the world, especially Arab countries.

    • @LivingLinux
      @LivingLinux  Місяць тому +1

      Do you mean to say that the app doesn't support Arab as a language? Not all Arab countries have adopted DVB-T2. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVB-T2#Market_adoption

    Hmm TV tuner review...reviews radio...got it🤦‍♂

    • @LivingLinux
      @LivingLinux  7 днів тому +1

      If I only showed radio, it would have been a valid criticism. I showed that it can receive both TV and radio. Now you are just nitpicking.

      @@LivingLinux You showed a snippet of an obscure Dutch Radio/TV programme.🤷‍♂ Besides it's irrelevant now, i've purchased the thing anyway (And this 'review' certainly didn't help towards my decision)

    • @LivingLinux
      @LivingLinux  6 днів тому +1

      @@SeeDaRipper... You are probably not from the Netherlands. These were snippets from the national broadcasting service. Not exactly "obscure".

      @@LivingLinux Regardless, you still could have shown something somewhat more well known (i noticed the BBC there)

    • @LivingLinux

      @@SeeDaRipper... The poor reception of the antenna made it pointless to show more TV channels. And you don't need to know the TV channel to see if it is working or not. Again, you are nitpicking.
