Serendipitous, first day on Kauai, and I just walked here for groceries; first video this evening is this one. My favourite thing about this area was taking off my sandals and walking around on the cool grass....
Hey! Great to see my fellow Oregonians on this video. I would love to see a video on the take a Kauai Dog for a day program. We are coming back in May. Can't wait to try some of your suggestions. Mahalo 😎🤙
Mahalo for watching Elizabeth! We are actually planning to take a dog on a field trip this weekend!! As long as the weather cooperates ;) stay tuned! :) Aloha~
Just catching up on some of your past videos! You're always such a good source of information! Just another place we'll have to try if and when we can return again to Kauai!
Thank you!! Really enjoying your videos to get an understanding of the Island. My wife and I and our kids will be visiting in late July later this year. I feel like I have a way better understanding and will be able to better enjoy the Island watching your and others videos :)
I'm here now so plan out your trip well it's very expensive here ..I suggest a trip to Safeway and costco or you will be paying out alot either way it is very nice here !
Thanks Amelia, We planned on stop at Both for Breakfast and Dinner stuff... Lunch out and about during our sight seeing and beach time. Really looking forward to shave ice and trying Poke.
Love the Coconut Marketplace. Glad it's doing a come back. It's taken a long time since Iniki hit. We visited Kauai before the hurricane. They use to have horse and buggy rides there at the marketplace. Same as the lagoons they use to have boat rides. We are glad we got to see all that. We like the beach area near the marketplace. 2017 we stayed close to there. Is Lappert's Ice cream still there?
They've done a lot to clean it up and that new HUGE ABC market is a great anchor. Lappert's is no longer there. The ABC store has ice cream though. You can still get Lappert's in Poipu, Hanapepe and Princeville though. They do have amazing ice cream!
I absolutely love Kauai and your channel is so awesome for reminiscing our trip:) I really enjoy watching your channel because you have great energy and you're always happy. Can you please do a video on the best luau in Kauai? Also, where would you find the best malasadas in Kauai? Thanks!
Thank you sooo much for watching and your kind words!! Love the suggestions! My Dad is visiting us next week so we plan to take him to a luau while he's here so we'll definitely try to get a video out of it ;) Keep the suggestions coming! Aloha~
Thank you so much for watching and we truly appreciate your kind words. The editing takes A LOT of work :) but we enjoy making these videos so it is worth it! Aloha~
I try to stay out of the direct sun as much as possible because of my fair skin and history of skin cancer. I wear hats a lot and wear long sleeves when i snorkel. Also, try to stay out of the mid-day sun....go early AM or late afternoon :)
Coming to Kaua’i in May with my special 21 year old before I see her off to collage. Will be our very first trip together. Will be staying on the South shore. Would love to know top thing to do there. We have watched all your videos. Would also love to know if the helicopter rides are a good option and how to pic the best company for the money?
Aloha Susan! What a fantastic way to spend time with your daughter before she goes away to school! Thank you so much for watching our videos!! You will love staying on the South shore. Spending time at the beach and snorkeling are two super fun ways to spend time in Poipu. As for the helicopter tour, put your focus on the safety record of the helicopter tour company rather than just the cost. We are probably a little biased because Brodi flies for Island Helicopters....sooooo ;) yeah, we suggest doing a tour with Island Helicopters. A helicopter tour is the very best way to see the entire island. If you do book with Island Helicopters be sure to let them know you subscribe to On Hawaii Time :) However, if you are trying to do things that are a little less expensive and still want to see the NaPali coast you could do a sunset dinner cruise....such a beautiful way to see the NaPali coast. Of course you could go really inexpensive and see the NaPali coast by doing a hike. There are so many things to do on Kauai so it really depends on what kind of trip you want.....more relaxing or more adventure. Kauai can provide you with both!
He had Chicken! hahahahaha....he can eat Chicken :) Pretty sure we all had chicken that day. They have lots of other stuff there though that we need to go back and try....well me anyway, he can only have chicken :)
The company that runs the beer dispensing system, records your beer consumption and will release to law authorities based on their terms of service, just saying... This dispensing is getting pretty popular. It seems like a great idea. The first ounce is a little warm and doesnt get poured off, so a little foamy depending on the beer. I have avoided the market place because it is impossible to turn left from the parking lot. But I should go back. Coco Pam's under new ownership, that area will be happening.
Good points! I drink wine, not beer and Brodi doesn't drink at all so I had no idea about the first pour of beer being warm or foamy. They are super nice there so maybe they'd do a first pour of the beer if asked??...I really have no idea though. There's a little merge turn lane if turning left so it makes it a little easier to get out but I totally hear you. That Kapaa traffic is terrible.
@1:29 to 1:40 that was a really cool shot and edit! Nice work!! Reverse cam tumble and spin with edit... Never saw that b4... Yummy
Love the shaved ice place.

I'm coming back in Sept. I'm pretty excited. Thanks for featuring 'ChicKen In A Barrel'. I'm gonna try it.
Jonn - Sweet Home, OR.
We ate there again last night. Good stuff!!
Other than Mark's Place, Chicken n a Barrel is our other mandatory stop each visit. Duane's Ono Char Burger was the third (miss it so much!)

Haha....ok we'll work on that for the next video. We can tell you this....DELICIOUS!
How much sunscreen do y'all have to wear? I was in Oahu for just three days, put lots on and still got burned so bad
