I've had fantastic luck with mine shooting 108gr eld-m. It's a stag, it's heavy, but shoots fantastic and reliable. I've killed coyote, fox, jackrabbit, whitetail, blackbuck with it. Basically what ever I point at stops right there.
I've built a 21" 6ARC using an Odin works barrel and a 16" Geissele MK18 rail(the one with an integrated Arca). With Hornady 108 ELD-ms im shooting .6" at 100 yards. I agree with you, although I don't hunt, but shooting this rig makes me think this is how ARs should be chambered.
I prefer the Grendel also, little heavier bullet than the arc for deer/hogs. But the bullets available in 6mm is better for the smaller critters, so I see where he is coming from. But for the distance I shoot and what I shoot the Grendel is better choice for me.
pros and cons. Better is subjective. there are LOTS of better but with better you get more recoil. the bigger you go the more recoil. 6.5 CM would be better but has more recoil. the 6CM would be better but more recoil. so Better is subjective to pros and cons vs 6ARC
I built a very similar Arc with Odin Works parts and have been very pleased. I am still testing loads with it and so far it likes the 87grn Vmax shooting 1/2-3/4 Moa. But I would love to save that time and just buy ammo off a shelf or retailer like Ally. Hopefully y"all can those out soon.
I got the Odin Works 6 ARC in a 22" barrel with their stock and buffer system, its soft as butter with a very light hyperfire trigger and love it! Yea its a bit heavier but man it shoot lights out! I'll carrry it all day - still lighter than my older hunting rifles. Glad you found yours!
