I've just stumbled upon your channel and I'm so glad I did. Your garden is beautiful and your straightforward no nonsense approach to getting the job done is refreshing. Thanks for sharing your gifts with the rest of us. Bless you.
Thank you very much for putting up the video. I love you ideas...I have just retired and am looking forward to putting together my first garden and you have giving me loads of inspiration...God bless from Ireland
Good luck. It's a great hobby with awesome rewards. Keep it small enough so it's not frustrating in the beginning. Every year will have different results. Thanks for watching.
Absolutely loved this "How To" Video, which not only" highlights" the actual process but the great layout and design...Being an avid Raised bed/container gardener myself with my own "set up" similar to your own and a few videos on my own youTube channel "Gardening With Vincenzo", this is definitely a "True Resource" video for all the growing enthusiasts out there ! Thanks for sharing and hope your Harvests are bountiful !
Hey buddy, I just had to tell ya I am just still amazed with your garden, I’ve showed this video to several people now just showing off your garden LOL. Looking at some of your other’s now to. Wished you were my next door neighbor, I would soak in as much teaching you’d offer. Anyway sorry to pester you again, but just had to share that with you. Have a great season this year.
Wow!.... glad I found you... I'm about to put up some fencing like yours and am very impressed with your tips! Your garden is incredible. You're far too humble regarding your efforts. I'm a 67 yr old woman & wish that there was an extra hand or two when I'm attempting these projects... I always have to figure out how to create a "third hand" so love how you tackled the stretching. You've made a subscriber out of me!
It can take a lot longer when working alone. Many tools can be used to solve multiple problems and you can never have enough clamps. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Older video, but this helps me out a lot, I'm creating my first back yard garden and need to fence it in due to deer and groundhogs, I was scratching my head on how to do this as a one man operation, you have given my lots of great ideas and solid guidance, thanks.
As of last year I can tell you deer can jump it. I added another 4 ft of fence tape that finally stopped the one rogue deer we had that liked edamame. Thanks for watching.
You’re my new hero- I wish I was your neighbor- so unassuming while having the most amazing skills! Thank you so much for sharing this video. God bless!
A fun suggestion, leave the post tops hang lanters or planters on them the butterflies will love you. Your enclosure is terrific, I appreciate when people take the time to create estheticly pleasing working gardens. Love your tubes, I used corrugated sewer pipes for my rounds, our township discarded them as waste .
I have some bee whirligigs I have not put out yet for the old posts, and will be putting solar lights on the new posts. I really like the round beds, they are so easy to reach everything.
Actually I think the way you stretched the net wire was quit ingenious. I agree net wire or even chicken wire is quit hard to make straight and not have bulges in it due to how it is manufactured. Great garden and video. :)
Of all the raised bed gardens I've seen on You Tube, yours by far is the loveliest and you did an excellent job on that wired fence. Not too many people would've thought of stretching it to make it more smooth and even. Excellent work :-)
Very efficient and manageable looking garden. Just one minor thought. If you had flipped the fence over it seems it may have unrolled more naturally. Really great channel! I look forward to learning much more. Thank you.
Brilliant use of pool parts. It gives a nice look to the garden with round beds. Will be adding this idea to our future garden plans 👩🏻🌾 thanks for sharing your ideas
They are over 40 years old and still look like new. I have been trying to find a company interested in making them because so many want them and the old pools are not available anymore but none were interested. Thanks for watching.
Greeting from California near Los Angeles. Your garden is gorgeous! I can sympathize with unwinding the galvanized fencing all by yourself. I used the same fencing to make a long term trellis for numerous tomato plants that will produce large heavy fruit. Unwinding the fencing was tricky and I highly recommend wearing gloves. At the end of the day after wrestling the fence it was worth the hassle now that I have a quality strong fence. I wish I had used your terrific stretching method. Thank you.
It's a hard job to unroll that stuf without damaging it. The wire is thin gauge and the welds are not very strong if pulled on. That should be a nice trellis for tomatoes. Good luck with your garden. Thanks for watching.
Oh my goodness! I have been considering this for a very, very long time, but I was worried that it would not look good enough for where I needed it to go on my property. Now I know for sure that this is PERFECT!! I am thrilled that you made a video of it, and what a beautiful job you did. It's outstanding! Because mine needed to go between me and a neighbor, and most fences there are pretty special, I thought it would look too garden like, which is not bad, but with so many that are way beyond what I can afford for a new fence, yours is much better than I could ever envision. My neighbor is not real close, but it would be very visible to everyone since there are few homes there, and have huge spaces between them. You just saved me a fortune. The irony is, I need it for my neighbors 4-5 dogs, and I just could not spend thousands for a fence that I really didn't want anyway. Since I already love the uses of cattle panels, this fits right in with my garden projects too!! Bless you for sharing this, and this old lady is really thrilled that you did. Bless, Sheila
Raised beds make a garden area very easy to care for also. I thought about cattle panels but the grid is to large to stop small rabbits. A couple of small beds will grow a lot of veggies. Thanks for watching.
I'm in the process of putting in raised beds at my beach property. I only have the dogs to deal with so far, so the panels will work for me, but I do like your fencing a lot more for the actual fence, and I will be use that type for the fence, and the cattle panels for the garden area and my projects there. Sorry, I should have explained that better. I think your raised bed garden area is gorgeous. I love an organized and designed garden, it makes it a special place to me, and the less weeding the better. Bless, Sheila
I can't wait to build my raised garden beds!! This was a great video! Thanks for sharing! Your right, we can't use mulch against the houses here in Florida like you stated, but it would probably work out in the raised bed area for sure!!🌸
When I was working @ the East Chicago Parks, & Recreation Dept., back in 2002-03, I was given the tasks of creating a T-ball field, & building dugouts for the senior league field, as well as other various tasks, like fix/repair bleachers @ Markstown, & laying out for a little league field, @ Kosciusko Park, in addition to fixing/repairing picnic tables & the like, ... and several sections/areas, had to be fenced off, ... the stretcher for the fencing was just a steel flat bar, with a 45 degree bent piece of rebar welded on both ends to hook a come-along into, & 3 curved hook pieces of rebar welded to latch onto the fencing, ... a pain in the backside to use, or operate, ... and it took at least 2 guys to get it set, & tightened up, ... So I can really appreciate your methodology, ...
This fence material is so weak that if you pull it any other way it deforms, or the welds pop. They just don't make fence like they used to. Thanks for watching.
Excellent garden and work putting the fence up. You really did a very nice job on this. The fence stretching was a really neat idea that makes the whole deal a lot easier to do.
I've just spent the last couple of days installing the same kind of fence. Wish I'd seen this video first- your stretching method is excellent! Got myself a not too straight fence but it will keep the deer out anyway! Wonderful garden, thanks for sharing!
Love your garden, ideas & approach to everything you do, great inspiration. Hubby & I have started our garden area, finished the enclosure & stopped as I have changed my mind on the last 2 wks a dozen times, actually I didn't really know what next. Thank you for so many wonderful ideas, can't wait to show my husband your video.
Thanks. I am sure there will be changes for years to come. It takes time to find out what works best for your needs. The first 2 years were my toughest but now I just sit back and watch everything grow 🌱🌱🌱. Compost will be the most important ingredient. Good luck with your garden. Post some pics on my MeWe page when you are done. Thanks for watching.
Very well done project and video. Thanks! The only thing I can add as a Floridian is... the more holes you put in a piece of outdoor lumber, the quicker it will rot, P.T or not. So I would've put less staples. There is zero wind load on that fence, so once every 3 or 4 grids would be plenty secure. Other than that, GENIUS stretching method.
They are just 18 gauge staples so I didn't want to take a chance of it popping off if an animal hit it. Wet pressure treated wood shrinks as it dries and is supposed to seal the fasteners in. Thanks for watching.
I love how you have your raised garden and the fencing looks good..... I'm wanting to do something similar to that this spring..... I enjoyed watching.... Thank you for sharing....
was looking for some gardening inspiration as I'm getting tired of winter...I love what you have done and can't wait for the ground to thaw...thanks for the video, love your raised beds!
Great looking fence and the vegies patch all so well done so clean and neat done by yourself top notch job you should be proud Thank you for the video God bless
Beautiful garden, and incredible fencing job. Your stretching of fence method is a great idea. I came to this as I’m looking for an easy yet effective fence set up for my garden and it’s usually one or the other but this definitely helps!! Thank you for sharing
What a fantastic method of stretching the wire! From where I stand it looks absolutely fantastic. I totally agree with your philosophy of using what you have and getting the best results possible. Sure, sometimes you gotta get a new tool but most of the time I do the same. Love your videos - short, simple, and to the point. I'm going to use this method on my raised garden bed! One thing I thought you might like is the HarborFreight cargo unloader. Item # 60800. It's a plastic sheet that's rolled up on a pole attached to your tailgate using two clamps. You can load up to 2000lbs and then you hand crank it and basically the entire load just slides right off the bed. I went the extra mile and pre-sprayed the bed in my Tacoma with some silicone lubricant......but the stock bed is pretty darn slippery already so that probably wasn't necessary. I use it to unload firewood/rounds of wood.........and it works fantastic. Not affiliated with HarborFreight btw just thought you might want to check it out.
It looks beautiful. Well done you did a wonderful job. I would be proud to have a garden like yours. We are currently starting to rejuvenate an old over grown garden full of trees. I hope at the end our project looks similar to yours. Thanks for all your tips
Love your fence. Once when my father was putting up a fence by himself he used the boards on the fencing like you did but instead of the clamps he used a come-along to stretch the fence. Great job!
The fence is so thin and the welds break easily if you pull it with too much pressure in 1 spot. I guess that I may have just discovered something people have been doing for years. Thanks for watching.
They make it a lot easier to take care of. I am hoping the fence will keep the deer out as with the mild winter there seem to be quite a few young dumb ones with no fear this year. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic job done all by yourself, and a great use of the tools which you have on hand. Some of these DIY video posters have a shop full of commercial tools which many of us do not possess, and talk about how we can do it too, lol! A saw and drill are the only power tools I own, along with my hand tools. Thanx for showing us how to do it with what you've got!
I've personally used cardboard. It tends to warp and curl up when it's really dry, and the mulch would never stay on it the same as when I used fabric...maybe because of drainage, I don't know.
I enjoyed your video! A great, simple come along idea to stretch the fence. And your entire layout is very aesthetically pleasing. I look forward to watching your other videos!
Thanks for sharing! I got some good ideas for my garden. I'd never have thought of stretching the fencing by screwing to 1x2's to the fence. The garden looks great!
Lots of comments so I hope I'm not repeating someone else. I found the easiest way to handle that fencing is to lay the roll down, put something on the end and roll out what you need, walk back to the other end and tack it, then stand it up and finish it off. I'm no expert fence installer just a solo operation like you.
Great work, love how you did the fencing by yourself and used the clamps instead of asking for help! Very self sufficient practical.
Thanks. When you live in the country there isn't always help around. Thanks for watching.
I agree! I’m always by myself and can never figure out how to do things like this!
I am 76 and plant every year. Fabric never works long .cardboard is free and lasts much longer under the mulch. Good luck😊
It lasts a couple years then the mulch and fabric are replaced. Thanks for watching.
Fabric is expensive..cardboard is free.
Be careful using recycled cardboard boxes as some have heavy metals in them.
I've just stumbled upon your channel and I'm so glad I did. Your garden is beautiful and your straightforward no nonsense approach to getting the job done is refreshing. Thanks for sharing your gifts with the rest of us. Bless you.
Thanks. Having a garden is the only way to know what you are eating anymore. Keep everything as simple as you can. Thanks for watching.
Same here! I’m impressed! I wish I had that staple gun!!
Thank you very much for putting up the video. I love you ideas...I have just retired and am looking forward to putting together my first garden and you have giving me loads of inspiration...God bless from Ireland

The raised beds are very productive and easy to care for. Just add compost and anything will grow. Thanks for watching.
❤❤❤
You are an inspiration. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks for taking the time to share your creativity!
Thanks. Hopefully some can get ideas for their projects. Thanks for watching.
What an awesome looking fence and garden! Those raised beds made from pool sides are a great idea!
I am surprised someone does not sell extrusions like that. They can make a simple bed any size. Thanks for watching.
Ha! Imagine finding you here!

I like the touch of fixing the ends that can catch your clothing. Really nice job, looks great!
My grandkids will find a way to get hurt if you don't take a little extra precaution. Thanks for watching.

You are about the neatest gardener! It’s beautiful! Hope it flourishes for you!
Thanks. We really enjoy the fresh veggies. Thanks for watching.

Thanks. We could use a good neighbor. Thanks for watching.
I think I've just watched you build my dream garden. How clever and well laid out.
Thanks for watching.
Lovely orchard you created. Congratulations. God bless the work of your hands, give you strength and multiply your fruits.
Thanks for watching.
beautiful gardens and I think you're stretching method is top-notch enjoyed watching your video
Iit may be the slow way to do it, but it came out pretty flat in the end. Thanks for watching.

McCoy's Oak Hill Farm Great job!!!!!!👍🏻
I'm an avid gardener. This guy is a national treasure. Love this video and your garden layout.
Thanks but I am really just an old guy learning on the job. Raised beds are very productive and easy to care for. Thanks for watching.
Enjoyed the video. You make everything look so easy. Beautiful Garden.
Thanks. Anything you like doing is fun and easy. Thanks for watching.
Very clever way of putting your fence up and stretching it when you are on your own !!! congratulations...thank you for sharing...
Thanks for watching.

I wanted the vertical wires on the outside. I should have just laid it down and unrolled it as someone posted. Thanks for watching.
Brilliant use of pool parts. It gives a nice look to the garden with round beds. Will be adding this idea to our future garden plans 👩🏻🌾 thanks for sharing your ideas

I can't wait to lay a tarp down and do the garden right, when we move into our first home! Thanks again!!🌸
That garden sparks the sheer love and joy you put into it. A job more than well done. Greetings from Zurich in Switzerland.
Thanks. It supplies us with veggies year round and is worth it. Zurich is a beautiful city. Thanks for watching.
Very nice. I like my 1/4 crown stapler too. I build all kinds with it. You did a great job.
Thanks. That stapler has seen lots of use. Thanks for watching.

That fence is easy to damage and not manufactured very flat. The wood strips really help. Thanks for watching.
I really enjoyed your build videos!!! The fence is neat and I love your organized garden 🤟🏼
Thanks. It's a great way to know exactly what you are eating. Thanks for watching.
Love your garden, ideas & approach to everything you do, great inspiration. Hubby & I have started our garden area, finished the enclosure & stopped as I have changed my mind on the last 2 wks a dozen times, actually I didn't really know what next. Post some pics on my MeWe page when you are done. Thanks for watching.
LOVE IT I think I will be using your stretching skills. It makes it so much easier for one person.
I think it's about the easiest way to stretch light duty fencing without damaging it. Thanks for watching.
I utilized your method of stretching the welded wire fence on my own garden fence and it worked great! Thanks for sharing!
It's not the fastest way to do it but it works great. Thanks for watching.
My goodness you are a machine! Everything looks great and you did an excellent job. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Just an old guy having fun. Thanks for watching.
I have a 500 acre farm and my ignorant rear end never even thought about stretching that type of fence like that. Ty for furthering my knowledge.
This works for short runs of lightweight fencing but would be slow for long runs like yours. Thanks for watching
That weather looks crazy! Your patch looks great, that mulch is superb and I love your beds. Great video, thank you!
Been a crazy winter, can't wait for spring. The beds are very easy to care for. Thanks for watching.
Very well done project and video. Thanks! The only thing I can add as a Floridian is... the more holes you put in a piece of outdoor lumber, the quicker it will rot, P.T or not. I love your garden and your channel name. Your area is so neat and tidy.

Thanks. That is very fragile fence and I was trying not to damage it. I got a dump trailer that unloads itself now. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful garden! ❤️‼️

Beautiful garden. Fence came out really nice. Thanks for sharing this useful video.

this looks awesome! reminds me of the Peter Rabbit Video and the Vege garden in the movie!

Beautiful fenced garden area. Well crafted and elegant. Great work sir.
Thanks. It's the only way to know exactly what you are eating anymore. Thanks for watching.
That looks great. Love your fence stretching method. :)
It worked good and the fence came out fairly flat with no damage. Thanks for watching.
It looks beautiful. Well done you did a wonderful job. I would be proud to have a garden like yours. We are currently starting to rejuvenate an old over grown garden full of trees. I hope at the end our project looks similar to yours. Thanks for all your tips
Thanks. Do a little at a time to keep it fun and soon you will have the garden of your dreams. Thanks for watching.
oh my gosh . thank you so much. you're brilliant. I'll finally get my fence stretched!!
Love your fence. Once when my father was putting up a fence by himself he used the boards on the fencing like you did but instead of the clamps he used a come-along to stretch the fence. Great job!

What an incredible setup! It's artistic and beautiful to look at. THEN comes a terrific harvest too!
Thanks. If you have the time a garden can be very rewarding. Thanks for watching.
that raised bed garden looks great!
They make it a lot easier to take care of. I am hoping the fence will keep the deer out as with the mild winter there seem to be quite a few young dumb ones with no fear this year. Thanks for watching.
You don't need to apologise, you showed us a wonderful build and execution! Beautiful job sir!
Thanks. A garden is always a work in progress. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful garden! What was used for the round bed they're perfect
Old epoxy coated aluminum pool wall extrusions. There's a video about making them back a ways.
I do also have a whole shed full of tools but sometimes the simplest tools do the best job but take a little longer. Thanks for watching.
thick layers of cardboard work better than landscape fabric. Grocery stores will gladly give you boxes, or Craigslist. Your garden is beautiful.
I think the fabric has better drainage, but I see many comments about using cardboard. Thanks for watching.
Cardboard has lot of glue with lots of nasty chemicals. I'm glad you used the fabric. Your garden is beautiful!
Thanks for watching.
I've personally used cardboard. It tends to warp and curl up when it's really dry, and the mulch would never stay on it the same as when I used fabric...maybe because of drainage, I don't know.
card board has chemicals in its manufacturing process which could be bad for your garden
I absolutely love what you have done...your garden looks great...and I hope your yields are abundant...you deserve for them to be.🌻🌻🌻
Thanks. It's a great way to know exactly what you are eating anymore. Every year is different. Thanks for watching.
Wow that looks great!!!

What a stunning garden and ingenious way to stretch the fence!! Amazing!

Beautiful nobody takes pride in their work these days
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing! I got some good ideas for my garden. I'd never have thought of stretching the fencing by screwing to 1x2's to the fence. The garden looks great!
It was the only way I could figure out to keep it from deforming. The fence material was very easy to bend. Thanks for watching.
I took great plans from Avasva . It help me a lot with my own solars.
Thanks for watching.
I'm glad you like it
Great way to repurpose above ground pool walls! You work like I try to, safe and steady with common sense. Great looking garden are.
Wish that I could find another extruded pool. I try to do things right the first time but still manage to mess up. Thanks for watching.
good job
Thanks for watching.
Lots of comments so I hope I'm not repeating someone else. I found the easiest way to handle that fencing is to lay the roll down, put something on the end and roll out what you need, walk back to the other end and tack it, then stand it up and finish it off. I'm no expert fence installer just a solo operation like you.
It's always easy to look back and learn from my mistakes. Yes your way would be easier but I didn't think so at the time. Thanks for watching.
Nice your definitely better off trimming the bottom and keeping the top level more pleasing to the eye that way
