This vid has helped me a lot. I've setup 2 Nano QX FC's with the help of this, and pretty much learned how to navigate my DX6 menus because of you. Thanks for putting this up!
well, i am a newbie. i bought me a Spectrum DX6e and the Blade Nano QX and thanks to your cool video, i'm jumping into the RC hobby. many many thanks to you :)
Hi, I'm a total noob, been so frustrating trying to work out this dx6, the instructions may as well be in Chinese. Thanks to you I'm now flying my nano qx, thank you so much!! Now to try and find settings for the msr and msrx. Keep doing vids, your very good at it😉
Thank you very much for the kind words! Yes the instructions are difficult to decipher. I had a tough time as well. Enjoy your QX. It's a lot of fun! (0:
Great video! I have had a dx6i and a nano qx for about 6 months now. I just bought a dx6 and watched your video. Well done. I don't know what other models you have but you should make more vids!
Just like a lot of other posters, I used your video to set up the same pairing. Nice job! very clear and concise and it worked perfectly. Now all I have to do is learn to fly the damn bird... :-)
Thank you for making this video. Very helpful as I have the exact same setup with Fpv option. Got it to practice Fpv with before I break anything else on the qav 250 lol. Also learned a lot about transmitter from this so thanks again.
thank you Sir! great video! Helped alot in setup for this quad as well as for the functionality of the DX6. Especially because the DX6 setup is not in the manual for the NanoQX.
This video is fantastic! I'm not a tech guy and unfortunately I don't get a lot out of reading instructions. The thing is, I love flying Quadcopters and you know how it is, the time comes when a person wants to fly more serious quads. I bought the Blade QX 200 and recently at a family reunion my son bound it to the DX6 having no previous knowledge of RC or Transmitters. When I bind it and turn off the blade lock the blades spin very fast on low throttle, not enough to fly but very fast. I know this isn't right and now I'm back home and can't fly it because I know it's not set up right. I hope from going over your video a few times I can figure it out. Please know, flying may be 5 months new to me but I love it and want to keep going forward, I hate being so dumb when it comes to stuff like this, I do other things very well, but this stuff seems to stump me, thank you my friend, much appreciated that you put on a video that is understandable. :)
ProjectKing Thank you, if not look for my garage sale, Phantom 2 with 3d gimbal, Blade QX200, one one un-used DX6, 50 bananas takes it all, lol ...actually may be close to the truth, lol
Awesome !!! Great video I just had my first flight on my Nano QX. Thanks for showing how to bind my Spektrum DX6 to my Nano. I just need to learn how to trim so I can keep it steady I have only got about 2 feet off the floor trying to make it hover but it keeps going right and left. I'm just learning how to fly and hopefully by April I can purchase the Yuneec Q500 4K+ !!! Danny from Ga.
Good to hear! Make sure the LED in the Nano QX canopy is blue. This is stability mode. If it's red you are in agility mode and in my opinion it's near impossible to fly. Use the trim buttons on the radio near the sticks to adjust trim until the copter stays in one spot while hovering. There's a graphic on the display that shows trim setting for the 2 sticks. Have fun! Those Q500's are impressive!
+ProjectKing Thanks for the info 😊 I am flying with the blue light in stability mode I just got to keep working on the trim part it started out good but then it started again after I changed the battery. Thanks again !!! Enjoy your Saturday nite !!!
It all seems kind of basic, but it's very helpful too. Thanks for putting up the video. I hope the DX6e works the same, that's what I just bought myself.
I really am starting to like the DX6 I have a blade torrent that I bought a few months ago and I still have not got a radio ,the torrent is still new I am slowly getting everything I need ty for the video
Awesome video! Very detailed. Any chance you can do a video on how to bind the Spektrum DX6 to a drone like the Armattan Chameleon? I bought one and I can't figure out how to bind.
This is awesome, took 3min and it fly complete stable. Do you have any infos on the 2 flight modes (agile/stable) and maybe how to get this thing flip.... I was thinking that it was too a button.
There is no button to perform flips. You cycle the left hand toggle to switch quad from stable (blue light) to agile (red light). Flying in agile is very difficult! I think you can perform flips in this mode if you know what you are doing. I cannot fly in the agile mode yet. Thanks for the comments!
Thanks for the video! ....btw, will this controller be suitable for a quadcopter (or any type of flying machine) that has a gimbal and camera? If so, would that scroll wheel control the gimbal movements?
Awesome video... Thanks for sharing... Can you tell me if this controller will work with the SYMA quadcopters ? I have two SYMA's X8W & X8G Would be nice to have the Spektrum DX6 if it will work with my SYMA's
+ProjectKing ? When you are video recording what are you using I don't have anything to video record except my I phone but I was looking on you tube and I seen a SJ5000 which is cheaper than a Go Pro Hero4 black !!!
I use an iPhone 6 a lot of the times. I also use a GoPro occasionally. I make all my videos on an iPad. A GoPro 4 Silver is a nice camera if you need an action cam. I prefer my iPhone though... Good quality and very easy to use! (0:
I'm wondering if is it worth paying the extra $50 for the dx6 then the dx6e? I'm getting in to rc helicopter. Is it worth the extra $50 ? This would be my first real remote.
I'm just curious has there been issues binding this radio to the nano qx in the past?? is that why u made this video?? I to purchased this radio recently along with the 180qx and the 200qx neither of which have setup instructions for the dx6 some say the dx9 is very similar to the dx6 and I've been told to use those settings instead are there any models compatible with this radio out of the box or do i have to keep referring back to dx9 setups??
Thanks for the comments. I made the video to help people set-up a DX-6 for the Nano QX. The instructions for the Nano only tell the recommend settings and give little detail on how to set-up radio. My video should get you close on programming for the 180 and 200. Look at the manual for each quad to get exact info on expo settings and switch functions. Good luck! Feel free to ask more questions. (0:
Yeah I appreciate your video it really helps I just got this radio yesterday and I just noticed like u said there's not really any detailed instructions on setup for the dx6 on some of these models
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it. Yes the switch on the left controls flight mode. When you cycle the switch the quads light will change from blue to red. Red is advanced mode. Also you can change expo from 70 to 100 percent with toggle on right.
+ProjectKing Hey, I'm not sure if I communicated what rate mode is fully....I mean, rate mode as in--when you push, for example the roll stick all the way to the right, the quad will begin flipping to the right. I have set up my dr to 100% and the quad still seems to be limited to a certain angle.
It will bind with every quad brand with out any mods to the transmitter. I have 10 quads I can use it for all right out of the box just doing what you did ?
? I have tried to update my controller with an sd sandisk 32 gb but my computer has Windows 10 and it won't let me download any updates to the sd card it does not recognize the app !!! Danny
? I had to change a black blade the first one flew off somewhere lol I have installed another black blade now my nano keeps flipping over upside down when I try to lift up or try to go forward
+Danny Whitlock Take a look at the blade pitch on the prop you replaced... You might have the wrong rotation. the two black props have opposite rotations. If both black props on your bird have the same pitch, that's your cause.
+Todd Gibbs !!! Thanks Todd for the info !!! I did finally check the blades and they are different I just put the wrong black blade on the right side I did switch the blades and my nano is working good it's just been windy today in Ga but I got in a few practice sessions today as long as I kept it flying low !!! Thanks again !!!

+Jason Austin my Blade helis, and my home-built multirotors using Spektrum receivers. I'm not sure about the 350. I would imagine one of the toggles could be set-up to switch flight modes. If I'm not mistake the 350 has three flight modes. Sorry I can't help more. I do not have a 350. /0:

That's great! Glad I could help! Thanks for the comment!
well, i am a newbie.
i bought me a Spectrum DX6e and the Blade Nano QX and thanks to your cool video, i'm jumping into the RC hobby. many many thanks to you :)

without this video of yours i would never know how to set up my DXe.with the Nano QX .
many many thanks ! !
+John Wedrall You are welcome! Thank you for the kind words!
:) you are welcome
Thank you for taking the time to post that. Got me up and running right away!
You are welcome! Glad it worked for you!
Thank you, i bought this exact set up today and couldn't get it to fly right, now after following your video its flying perfectly, much appreciated.
Glad I could be of assistance! Have fun flying! The DX6 and QX are a great pair!
Thank you so much! You made this process much more easy. I was up and flying within minutes!
You are very welcome! Glad it worked well. Have fun flying!
Great video. Learned a lot. Your voice was clear without mumbling I've heard on another video.

been looking for a hands on video! thanks!
You are welcome! Hope it helped out.
Ha, just used this to set up that transmitter with a 180QX that I'd only used once a couple of years ago. Thanks.
Great glad it worked!
perfect vid; thanks from a nano pilot from germany
You are welcome! Nice to hear from someone in Germany! (0: Happy flying!
Very accurate video and explained very well, it works!
Thank you for the kind words! Glad it worked for you!
It all seems kind of basic, but it's very helpful too. Thanks for putting up the video. I hope the DX6e works the same, that's what I just bought myself.
You are welcome!
thank you, not a waste of time. your set up instructions are easy to follow and it tremendously helped me get binded. post more info on the DX 6 E. 😎
+John Wedrall Glad to help!
Fantastic- thanks, that is a great help for me, a beginner with the exact same gear!
Glad I could help you! It's certainly a bit overwhelming when you are beginner like we are. Thank you for your comment!
Very clear. Thanks. I'm a VERY beginner, perfect to me.
Glad to help! Thank you
I'm sold.... I'm going to upgrade Thanks for video
You are welcome! Very nice radio!
I really am starting to like the DX6 I have a blade torrent that I bought a few months ago and I still have not got a radio ,the torrent is still new I am slowly getting everything I need ty for the video

I would love if you could explain how to set the different modes like stability, agility etc. THX
It is preset. You don't have to program it. Let me know if you have more questions.
Yes Thank You.. your video was very helpful..
I have the newer Blade 200 S heli and DX6 gen 3 Tx...is there a video on how to set up the Tx and bind?...thanks
Very well thought out presentation.

Can you do a new video with the latest firmware that has QuadCopter profiles?
That's a great idea! Just read about the new features including multicopter mode. I'll make a video when I get some time. Thank you for the idea.
Thanks for the video! ....btw, will this controller be suitable for a quadcopter (or any type of flying machine) that has a gimbal and camera? If so, would that scroll wheel control the gimbal movements?
No the scroll wheel is only for the menu. You maybe better served by a DX-8 radio. 2 more channels.
Awesome video... Thanks for sharing... Can you tell me if this controller will work with the SYMA quadcopters ? I have two SYMA's X8W & X8G Would be nice to have the Spektrum DX6 if it will work with my SYMA's
+Goodolboy One I don't think it will. Thank you for the comments.
I had the wrong black blade on the wrong side I changed the blade and now I'm flying again it's working great 😊
Glad you got it sorted out! Happy flying

Good video! Thanks a lot. Does this quadcopter have full rate mode??
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it. Yes the switch on the left controls flight mode. When you cycle the switch the quads light will change from blue to red. Red is advanced mode. Also you can change expo from 70 to 100 percent with toggle on right.
+ProjectKing Hey,
I'm not sure if I communicated what rate mode is fully....I mean, rate mode as in--when you push, for example the roll stick all the way to the right, the quad will begin flipping to the right. I have set up my dr to 100% and the quad still seems to be limited to a certain angle.
It will bind with every quad brand with out any mods to the transmitter. I have 10 quads I can use it for all right out of the box just doing what you did ?
+John Luciano Are your quads compatible with Spectrum communication frequency?
I was gifted the quad copter. Any chance you know how to bind to a Turnigy 9XR?
Not sure. May try procedure I show in video and see what happens.
Very useful, Thanks for the info.....
+Rick K You are very welcome!
? I have tried to update my controller with an sd sandisk 32 gb but my computer has Windows 10 and it won't let me download any updates to the sd card it does not recognize the app !!! Danny
Hmmm. Did you follow instructions in my update video? There maybe a setting that will allow download.
Can you do how-to on a dx6 and a blade 200qx
Hello! Unfortunately I do not own a Blade 200qx. Maybe Horizon Hobby's will send me one for testing purposes! (0: Thank you for your comment.
? I had to change a black blade the first one flew off somewhere lol I have installed another black blade now my nano keeps flipping over upside down when I try to lift up or try to go forward

+Todd Gibbs !!! Thanks Todd for the info !!! Thanks again !!!
Great tip!!!! Thank you Todd. I didn't think of that! (0:
+Danny Whitlock Cool! I actually got a chance to help somebody else instead of the other way around. Happy flying!
+ProjectKing Like I just said to Danny... It's nice to be able to help someone else! Keep up the great work ProjectKing
On the scroll wheel is it the top portion the button to select or bottom portion?
You depress the entire scroll wheel. Similar to center scroll wheel/button on a computer mouse.
ty
Thank you.
You are welcome!
What is the big difference between the devo 7e and Dx 6 . A lot of guys use the devo and have to perform mods on them . I'm looking for a transmitter that is ready to use without out having to perform surgery on it . And it will accommodate most of my quads now and in the future . +Jason Austin sorry, DX6, not SCi. Stupid auto-fill.
Spektrum has very nice radios wish you could get the high channel number radios for a better price .
+Spencer Boaz Yes they are nice radios but the high channel number models are cost prohibitive for most people. The DX6 is a real bargain compared to the other high channel radios.
What other Quadcopters will this transmitter bind with? thank you
+Wobble Copter Check out bindnfly.com. I do not recommend the QX350 though. Also if you put a Spectrum Rx in your multi rotor you can use the DX6
+ProjectKing thank you
Thanks
John Rutledge You are welcome sir! Thank you for the comment!
Blade vusion v2 250?
Would this work for the dx18
It should
what is the difference between doing this or downloading it from spectrum website?
One is manual and one is automatic
If you were to bind it manually do u have to program the stability and agility mode?
Yes I believe so.
I go over how to do it in video
Can't you just load all the settings off horizon Hobbys website on an sd card and import it to the dx6? That's how I have done mine
I didn't know that was available on their website! Great tip! Thanks for the info.
it saved me some time happy flying
Really? Where are this download links? Do they have files for nano qx2 too? Thanks for sharing
hi. i have DX6 and Nano QX 3D, do i have to do the same set up ?
Hello! To answer your question... I'm not sure. I am not familiar with the new Nano QX 3D. There's a set-up matrix is the manual for the 3D I'm sure.
Most likely most of my set-up instructions will work however there maybe some special features that the 3D uses.
I just reviewed the 3D Nano instructions. The settings are quite different from the Nano QX. So some of my instructions will work for basic set-up but there's other settings that I did not do for the Nano QX.
If Blade will send me a 3D I'll do a set-up video! Lol! (0:
ProjectKing yes please. hope they will send it to you :)
ProjectKing i have a 350 qx3 how would you set up the controls to operate in agility mode.with the dx6 jim
I'm not sure about the 350. I would imagine one of the toggles could be set-up to switch flight modes. If I'm not mistake the 350 has three flight modes. Sorry I can't help more. I do not have a 350. /0:
Or you could save your setup using the sd memory card and share the file with us. :D
Couldn't you have just bind the Nano by holding the bind button down and turn the controller on?
I'm not sure. Possibly?
Are you Ronald Jenkees ?
No I don't think so. lol
@@ProjectKing ;) you must live close !
Omg tanks you so mucht
+Antoine Deschênes You are welcome!!
ProjectKing tanks you mr
You sound like Chael Sonnen (Ex UFC fighter).
I don know have 35 quads and 7 brands.
why would you buy a $200 radio for a $80 quad
+Fudge Pies So you can use it to later fly $1000 quad. (0: Also you can use radio to fly all your rc aircraft.
If a young George bush taught you about radios
That’s quite a compliment. He was a good man
Excellent Video, thank you!
+Wobble Copter You are welcome!!
Great video. Thanks
You are welcome!
