Another amazing episode! Sarah has to be one of the loveliest and funniest people in the book community 🤍 I was cackling through this entire episode. The whale stories, the Bitch book being Sarah's favourite book of the year, the Allen bashing... lots of highlights here ;) Thanks for the top tier entertainment once again 🤩
Conan the Barbarian and Elric of Melniboné are awesome. That's the type of older Fantasy I prefer. I need to read more of both, and it was funny seeing what GRRM took inspiration from. Can confirm Revival is amazing. I haven't read much King but its my 2nd favourite of his books.
Beowulf is absolutely remarkable. I love the Seamus Heaney translation but have read several others. Heaney was a poet and his translation benefits from that.
How come none of the Chatting with Nutts videos are visible in the VIDEOS section of the channel? this was a great conversation. And can't wait to see what you think of The Count. It's a perfect adventure novel. Just awesome awesome book.
From a personal experience, you can understand why you're doing something and still do it,at least I do sometimes. I try to be very self-aware, and analyze my actions all the time, yet I still lose my temper and act like an ass on occasion, fully aware of the fact that i'm acting unreasonably at that moment
@@thefantasynuttwork Moving back and forth through time with characters that don't age being the lynch pin of the story was excellent. Then I think they didn't really know where to go. Also, Counterpart was a phenomenal season one and kind of fell off in season 2. Well worth watching still, JK Simmons killed it in his dual role.
You'd probably not like Doctor Who. But the show has been running (on and off) for 59 years now, so naturally it has amazingly high highs and embarrasingly low lows, and it depends where you start. It's a family show so at times doesn't go as dark or as indepth as it should. Sometimes it does though. If you like Matt Smith from House of the Dragon, then he's arguably the best option for you. He does the "old man trapped in a young man's body" thing very very well. His debut series, Series 5 (or season for you Americans) is mostly solid and has a nice Sci-Fi fairy tale vibe. But that's still no guarantee you'd like it lol
Dos-toy-ev-ski 😁 Sarah is right though, even all the modern Russian authored books I have read have an underlying bleakness, even the fantasy like The Night Watch and Vita Nostra (especially that one). I did enjoy Metro 2023, you might also because it's a post-apocalyptic story set in the subway system.
Great episode, despite the raw aggression from the panel!
I think you mean compassion!
@@thefantasynuttwork I have never meant that, not even in a Malazan discussion 😛
WE NEED THE HERO OF AGES REVIEW ALLEN BRING ON THE HEAT (fyi i think the ending is super overrated and im not the biggest fan i need this validation)
Sarah is a gem, great episode Jimmy, my favorite podcast delivers once again 🥰
Thanks my friend!

Awesome episode. The third member of the panel was extremely funny. 🤣
He’s the best lol
Great episode as usual!
Appreciate it!
Missed you guys live, and just seeing a still of you two gave me some serious book jeopardy flashbacks! 🤣
The good ole days 🤣
@@thefantasynuttwork There needs to be a rematch now that Philip has a new computer 😂

I’ll have to check it out!
Sarah coming in hot with these first law standalone takes... Loving the discussion guys!

I also intend to reread First Law next year, as well as read more Tad Williams.
Hell yeah

So far, of the Gemmel I have read, Winter Warriors has been my favorite.

UA-cam has moved then under the “live” tab
"The ending could be crazy" a whole bunch of people just leaned back in anticipation.

but I'm pretty immature
You tricked me into watching a book haul
GOTCHA!!!
The stream started at 12:30am and so even though it’s not live, the playback is perfect for Saturday listening and tidying the house
Glad you’re enjoying it!
Thanks Jimbo :)
My pleasure!
Yes, Red Country is the best First Law book.
Great opinion
Same history with Westworld as you, Jimmy 😂
Best season one ever

Yeah I love the metro games a ton
@@thefantasynuttwork I've only played the first one, I really liked STALKER but it was very buggy.
Why do I have the overwhelming urge to download this video and replace Sarah's dialogue with whale noises?
Please hahaha
