- A short preview of the "Summer diaries" extra storiesfrom the P5A Blurays. In which Makoto takes Ren to their first "real" date. (Without them being very much aware of it).
Note1: There's a punchline I messed up here, when Chihaya is telling Makoto what she must do to be successful in her romantic life. The Yakuza member in the movie says something to the effect of "once you've hardened yer resolve, ya gotta hit it dead on and nothin' less!". Chihaya words her love reading to makoto in a very similar way.
Makoto realizes that she must be like the "chivalrous Yakuza": once she's decided on the person loves, she must stick with it (Ren being right next to her!)
Note 2: Also I'm Aware Ren's sprite isn't 100% accurate, but it's the only casual Ren sprite out there by the time I edited this video.

I like how at 2:51 Ren's all "We should get going." like he's got somewhere to be.
But then at 14:12 after they meet up again he goes "We still have some free time. What do you want to do?"
Oh! And Makoto gives the same response both times only at the end they're both more relaxed.

Great job! Don't worry about missing the "punchline", I listened to it at least 3 times before picking up on it and I think you got the point across. :)
2:07 and 11:57, for Yakuza B and Chihaya's "harden your resolve" line.
I lost it when Makoto basically trolled Chihaya. Treating the fortune telling process way too seriously, messing up the timing of the shuffling, and nearly turning the session into an interrogation.

Weird...based on Strikers, it sounds like Makoto actually gave up on true love once she found her resolve to be a police commissioner.
Actually in the ferris wheel date she mentions she's jealous of seeing her college classmates having dates and significant others, so she's still the same old romantic girl.
@@necroalx Talking about Strikers? That's what I was thinking of too. Zenkichi tries to talk her out of her ambitions, similar to her dad, and basically tells her she isn't going to have time for relationships if she pursues this. Makoto says she already knows this is the case and is willing to sacrifice that aspect of her life for her goals.
@@zeveria7206 yes I am talking about the ferris date in strikers. Even so doesn't mean she would want to, but she knows it can happen just by seeing how Sae and her dad dealt with that. It would obviously make for an interesting story to see her deal with that kind of thing, but atlus would never try to visit that because they're too afraid to commit their characters.
@@necroalx Not so much "can", more "will". Zenkichi, Sae, and her own father at all examples, which is why Sae's still alone and both of them felt alienated from their own father. And the main difference is that all of them are simply at ordinary levels in the field. Makoto's aims are much higher, which would give her even less time.
Though personally I'd like to see a story on how Makoto even reaches that level. The government is aware of her connections to the Phantom Thieves and between Joker wanting to continue as a Phantom Thief even past Yaldabaoth and Futaba being a cyber terrorist, I wonder if they would try to use Makoto's connection to their advantage and force a lot of political maneuvering on her end.
@@zeveria7206 yes thats exactly what I meant and what I would love to see too someday, I just doubt atlus would invest on a character that much in future games. Since they haven't done that much for any character in sequels or spin offs other than flanderize them or just making small references here and there.

I like how Makoto makes Chihaya feel confused and morally conflicted since Makoto is brutally honest and kindhearted. What I didn't like about this story is the presence of the predatory gay men. Why, Atlus?
