Your videos are so clean and professional and as a newbie to cricut, you have helped me out more than you could know! Thank you so much for your videos

Thanks for your comment, Susan! That makes me so happy to hear. At first I thought you were going to say you got 2 minutes into my video and fell asleep. Ha ha! I hope you enjoy making studs - they really are fun, and it feels great to be able to repurpose scraps that would normally be thrown away!
I especially like that you show alternatives to using the cricket I sold my cricket I'm using a sizzix big shot plus right now to cut most of my things so I was really happy to see the alternative method
Hi I love the post earrings I do not like to wear hanging and If I do make any I would like to try both and give as gifts. I just got a Cricut Maker and this looks like fun!!! TY so much !!

Brand new to cricut maker owner, and new to faux leather. Thank you so much for making this video. Just looking to make small cuts out of faux leather and to see how to work with it into my crafting and sewing. This video was so helpful.

@@AmyRomeu Hey Amy I have been making lots and lots of cabochon earrings and having the time of my life...all thank to you sharing your talent with the crafting world...now off to try the druzy cabochons with leather hee hee I am loving this :0)
What a great video!!! Thank you so much! I would love the cabochon video tutorial. My mind is racing with ideas now. So happy to have stumbled upon your videos.
Hi Amy! just found your channel and I am binging on all your tutorials - did you actually use and add the glass dome that comes with the bezels for the studs? or do you have another tutorial where you show what kind of glue to use for the glass part? Not sure if you ever did the other tutorial with paper in the bezel? thanks in advance!
Hi, Pamela! I use Yellow Top Gorilla Glue for gluing a glass cabochon on, but there are a lot of other options too, like Dimensional Magic or Loctite Gel glue.
So very cute! Great for little girls gifts. Yes, I would like to see a clear cabochon and image video please. Thank you so much for the great ideas!! 💐💐💐💐💐💐

Hi, Colleen! The links are all in the description. On mobile it can be hard to find the description. :( It may be easier for you to get the link on my blog post. They are all listed in the Materials section of my tutorial here: amyromeu.com/how-to-make-stud-earrings-cricut/
Hi, thank you for your comment, Tiiu! I see that the seller changed the item they are selling using that link, and I can't find other cards with 3 sets of holes. I'm sorry! Hopefully the seller is just out of stock and will switch the item back when they get more in.
Hi, Yvette! I'll have it up in the next two weeks! It took me a while to figure out how to show you what I do without using a paid software. I wanted to show everyone a free option! I've got it figured out and I can't wait to share.
Hi, thanks for your email! I'm so glad you liked this project, and you find the instructions helpful. :) It's my pleasure. I love teaching and sharing.
Thanks for your comment! When I'm sizing, I Google the mm conversion to inches. Just search "15mm to inches" and it will pop up. 15mm is .59 inches. Then I create a circle in Design Space that's .59 inches wide and make a test cut. I adjust the size a little as needed and keep test cutting on scraps before I start cutting a lot of circles in the new size. :) Let me know how that goes!
I am so happy your video came up on my feed! What a great tip for using the transfer tape for keeping glitter off of your mat and the repeat tip! So excited to try this!new subbie! Blessings from Kansas

Hi, Jeanette! I am using a Cricut Maker. It's an electronic cutting machine that works with a computer, phone, or tablet. It works with a design software called Cricut Design Space. The Cricut works when the user uploads a cutting pattern called a SVG (scalable vector graphic) to Cricut Design Space and then sends the digital pattern to the Cricut cutting machine to cut out the pattern. I have a UA-cam video on how to make earrings with the Cricut Maker here that will tell you more about how it works: ua-cam.com/video/bt_ppHFXVdU/v-deo.html
Do you put the little glass pieces on top of the faux? I have the studs like this, and tons of scrap pieces of faux but I can't get the glass pieces to stay. They will pop into the cabochon tray without anything in it but not with anything in it? What is the best way to do this?
Hi, Bridgit! I only put the glass cabochon on top of a paper circle with a printed design, not faux leather circles. For faux leather I just leave it uncovered for a natural look. For designs I cut from photo paper, I use yellow cap Gorilla glue to glue the glass cabochon on top.
I work with clay for my earrings but would love to try printed papers or glitter paper, I never see prints on the papers in Michaels.. where can I get some? ty
Hi, great question! At Michael's you'll want to look in the paper packs that have assortments of prints and patterns inside. What's nice about those is they color coordinate and look great together in sets. :) You'll find them in the paper section, there are usually 12x12, 8.5x11 and 6x6 sizes. They look like pads of paper.
Hi, I guess the ones I originally bought are sold out. :( I cut my own with my Cricut! You can get my earring card SVG bundle in my shop here: shop.amyromeu.com/products/earring-cards-bundle
@@AmyRomeu Thank you! Another question, I ordered the 12mm post to insert leather or the gems they send with it. I noted the post on them are really long, do you cut it down at all? Again thanks for your help!
Hi, Katie! No, I didn't. If the faux leather is pretty flush to the top of the stud setting, or I just want the texture and look of the faux leather to be the focus, I leave the faux leather uncovered. If there's a lot of room between the faux leather and where the top edge of the stud setting is, I'll pour resin in the setting to fill the gap. This works really well when using chunky glitter faux leather because it enhances the sparkle of the glitter.
You can use other glues. If you use a slower drying glue, like a craft glue like Bearly Art Glue, be sure to let the glue dry completely underneath the photo before putting the cabochon on top. This will help keep the photo from getting wrinkled or the image getting cloudy. I hope that helps!
Do you think that hot glue would work for making studs? I would only be using buttons and trinkets like that and it’s for personal use but do you think that would be safe and kind of durable?
Hi, Lilia! Thanks for your comment. :) Hot glue may work - my only concern would be can you pull the buttons off the studs after they are glued? I would test one out and see!
Hi, Julia! I've seen anywhere from $6 to $12 for 3 pair. Genuine leather ones can go for more. It depends on where you are selling and how you price your other items, too. If you're already selling earrings, you can offer a set of 3 as an add on bonus purchase for a lower price, let's say $6 for a set of 3 or $10 for 6 sets. They are a good way to bump up the total order price!
Hi, LaRonya! No, I don't, I like to see the original texture of the faux leather or glitter. But you can if you want! I would suggest Mod Podge or Triple Thick if you want a simple sealer, or you could use resin for a thick and high gloss finish.
Hi, Susan! I don't if it's faux leather. When I made stud earrings with an image from photo paper, I cover it with a glass cabochon. Many of these stud kits come with the glass cabochons included.
I would love to see a video in the glass cabashon! You make everything very clear and easy to follow! Thanks Amy!

You can use other glues. If you use a slower drying glue, like a craft glue like Bearly Art Glue, be sure to let the glue dry completely underneath the photo before putting the cabochon on top. This will help keep the photo from getting wrinkled or the image getting cloudy. I hope that helps!
Do you need a certain blade for faux leather?
Hi! No, I use the regular fine point blade that comes with all the current Cricut machines to cut faux leather. :)
@@AmyRomeu thank you. I appreciate the fast response 🙏
@@AmyRomeu ok! Thanks for the help!
I love this vid!😃😍
Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked this project!
Where do you sell your stuff? How much would you ask for 3 pairs on one? I hate asking too little or too much.
Hi do you seal the top?
Hi, LaRonya! No, I don't, I like to see the original texture of the faux leather or glitter. But you can if you want! I would suggest Mod Podge or Triple Thick if you want a simple sealer, or you could use resin for a thick and high gloss finish.
i have used cabs in those earings cause just a bit of fur leather ect dosent really fill it in
Great tip! Thanks!
Do you ever cover the material with anything?
Hi, Susan! I don't if it's faux leather. When I made stud earrings with an image from photo paper, I cover it with a glass cabochon. Many of these stud kits come with the glass cabochons included.
Please make the other video you mentioned.
Thanks for letting me know you are interested in it, Lynn!
