I applaud the kindness and patience of these officers. After a person has said the understood their declarations, I read it to them, they still say they g it ave nothing to declare,… I would fine them to the full extent of the law
It is not kindness - it is a huge, irresponsible disservice to the country as it is known, by these visitors, that in the rare instance that they are caught, it will only be a warning or a very small fine. It is worth the risk to bring in pretty much whatever they want.

Nah, with all the technology customs use they have had to get smarter. They have been forced to spread their risk and reduce detection by sending smaller amounts through on their mules instead of hiding large quantities inside of pallets of goods. They are obviously frustrated by this and don't want to go to the effort of doing this time consuming task. So, they try to send a slightly larger quantity through, hoping THAT is small enough to get through. It is just pure laziness on behalf of the drug pushers abroad who now have to spend more time, effort and money on their "business dealings" and they hate the added expense. Remember, it's a business to these guys and everything comes down to the bottom line. All businesses try to reduce expenses and increase profits.

They like the toy/towel so much because it is the reward used during training. The reward is given to them after they find the drugs. Once found, the trainer gives them the reward, gives them praises and plays with them.

Caracas was a different story.

There’s a few episodes about people being taken under suspicion for drugs, didn’t have any on them but did have IDs and credit cards with different names on them. They got in trouble and I think fined then deported. Also, if the item is forbidden, they will take it even if it’s factory sealed. The most common I’ve seen is Bird’s Nest.
