I think this is actually the best movement compilation yet for the number of clips where movement was impactful for securing a kill rather than just style points. The Samus v Samus clip in the beginning is a good example where the movement defeated an otherwise good ledge trap option due to the timing mixup, and the clip might have gone the other way were it not for the strategic application of pretty niche movement tech.
Plus the Ganon's wizkick ledge cancel could threaten a ledge trump, which might have forced the Lucas to commit to a ledge get up that Ganon punished with fair 2:50
@@mrmediocre848plus the wiz kick itself keeping Lucas on the ledge in the first place by covering multiple options. That’s just a genuinely hard to deal with ganon ledge trap, which kinda just feels like an absurd thing to say.
samus at 3:09 is why we play platform fighters over traditional fighters. that movement was fucking sick and the pressure it slathered all over the opponent was palpable
Honestly. I thought it was going to be a lucas clip at first and then I was not disappointed. Nothing against Lucas mains. Lucas has some of the highest airspeed in the game and can schmoove like crazy. But... Ganon schmovement always wins my heart
man that Diddy clip you could TELL that he was in the zone. he might have been just goofing around with the B Buttons but he was sliding into clean grabs and placing banana in annoying spots over and over it was so BEAUTIFUL
This to me is what separates elite players from good players. I feel like a lot of good players can match the skill of elite players, but players that master movement are just really precise with their play, which makes them really difficult to beat.
it was insane… the fact that it was against sheik too of all characters. But it’s important to note Samus does have one of the highest air speeds in the game, a great momentum shifter with canceling charge out of b reverse and a slippery wavedash. People definitely underestimate the movement potential with her. That other clip of samus vs dark samus was nutty too.
the input is kinda similar to a wavebounce but you know how when you b reverse/wavebounce laser out of a dash you get a little slide? if you hold forward instead of back (like a b reverse except the same direction) and go off a ledge or platform at good timing you can just go really far in the air. the clip demonstrates almost perfect execution of spacing cause you have to be at about one foxtrot distance away from ledge. other characters can do the same tech but to less effect (probably due to not having as fast of a dash speed as fox), such as falco and wolf
Falco UThrow can kill??? Guess I need to play this game more Ight rather than post multiple comments I'm just gonna update this one as I watch That first Palu definitely practiced that Bro that bayo was playing DBFZ UI Goku
2:14 This is not vanilla smash. This is actually a mod of smash that Im working on called Unleashed. I will be releasing that soon. In the final stages of balancing for release
I was wondering because the way he wave dashes at the beginning and he slipped off the ledge way too easy after that knee just didn't look right to me. Edit: Also he shield drops off the platform, I don't know how I didn't notice that the first time.
diddy kong has some of the most ridonkulous movement in the entire game. his down air’s startup is almost entirely an autocancel and his side b is one of the few movement options that can ledge cancel
I don't remember how it works, but I remember the beefy smash doods had it covered in one of the smash reviews (it's in the thumbnail, so probably not too difficult to find)
I _think_ it’s a jab ledge slip, though I’d have to go back and watch it slow to confirm. There’s a beefy smash doods vid about it from a few years ago Edit: I don’t see a jab come out, so maybe this is just something else or I misunderstood the tech and you just need to neutral b to get the slip and not input jab after.
im uhh… 1:34 i move better than this i promise. there was another clip with wayy better movement that was a hydropump kill off the top from the same scenario… my sauce isnt with this one
Schmovement is honestly such eye candy. Style points aren’t required, but are optional to go for if you feel like demoralizing your opponent.

3:10 that's the cleanest ultimate movement I've ever seen
For the last clip, let's not forget the fact that Chronos used Snake's down tilt to low-profile Wolf's grab.
samus at 3:09 is why we play platform fighters over traditional fighters. that movement was fucking sick and the pressure it slathered all over the opponent was palpable
I was feeling so bad for Ganon at 02:50. So satisfying to see the next 20 seconds
Honestly. I thought it was going to be a lucas clip at first and then I was not disappointed. Nothing against Lucas mains. Lucas has some of the highest airspeed in the game and can schmoove like crazy. But... Ganon schmovement always wins my heart
Glad I could make the clip better
man that Diddy clip you could TELL that he was in the zone. he might have been just goofing around with the B Buttons but he was sliding into clean grabs and placing banana in annoying spots over and over it was so BEAUTIFUL
Even without proper melee wavedashing, this games movement is something to behold.
This to me is what separates elite players from good players. I feel like a lot of good players can match the skill of elite players, but players that master movement are just really precise with their play, which makes them really difficult to beat.
💯👏👏👏 Completely agree
6:06 LIL BRO IS PLAYING LEAP FROG WITH EM 🔥🔥🔥🔥🗣️🗣️🗣️ ‼️‼️‼️ 🐸🐸 🤣🤣
The first Falco is a Smooth Criminal.
2:08
I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT
this is one of my favorite videos you have posted love to see some schmovement!
1:05 was that a wall jump waveland? I had no idea you can do that, people in this game are too damn creative 😅
I was wondering if they were a rivals of aether player. That's the premiere recovery option in that game. I don't recognize the tag though.
sickest clip on here.
I loved every single Palutena clip in this video. Those teleport cancels are just DEVINE!
3:10 some of the best shmoovment I’ve ever seen
as a shmovement i can confirm my ankles are shattered
4:22 dedede and greninja dancing around trying to hit each other
Dedede: I'm making this harder than it should be I just need to use my head
Those Palutena’s teleport cancels tho! Feels like Dragon Ball fights 😂
Yo can we talk about 3:09 ? That samus broke sheik's ankles
I thought that one deserved play of the day tbh

WTF was 1:20? How did that fox gain that momentum?!
That’s what I’m saying that was like a vududash in melee. I’ve played fox this whole games lifespan as a main or secondary and I’ve never seen that
I'm thinking wavebounce. Input neutral B, then reverse direction, then hold forward again. Super tight input.
the input is kinda similar to a wavebounce but you know how when you b reverse/wavebounce laser out of a dash you get a little slide? if you hold forward instead of back (like a b reverse except the same direction) and go off a ledge or platform at good timing you can just go really far in the air. the clip demonstrates almost perfect execution of spacing cause you have to be at about one foxtrot distance away from ledge. other characters can do the same tech but to less effect (probably due to not having as fast of a dash speed as fox), such as falco and wolf
That Samus clip was naaaaaaaaaaaasty
Shoutout to 0:17 doing a tournament in an actual church.
AMEN to that!
Falco UThrow can kill??? Guess I need to play this game more
Ight rather than post multiple comments I'm just gonna update this one as I watch
That first Palu definitely practiced that
Bro that bayo was playing DBFZ UI Goku
My ankles were definitely shattered after seeing that kind of movement
4:20 I didn't know King Dedede can move like that.
1:10, somebody call light
Howd the fox do that with the laser
2:14 This is not vanilla smash. This is actually a mod of smash that Im working on called Unleashed. I will be releasing that soon. In the final stages of balancing for release

2:07: He jumped off ledge b reversed his neutral b and jumped out of it then forward aired, that's crazy.
Ah yes, another video of the same ledge cancels with the same characters
diddy kong has some of the most ridonkulous movement in the entire game. his down air’s startup is almost entirely an autocancel and his side b is one of the few movement options that can ledge cancel
surprised i havent seen many peach/daisy clips for this one, their float cancel fast fall shmoovement is insane.
Thank you for the great compilation, YEET!
These are the people who thought "I could win normally...but what if I break physics and ankles and everything in between to do it?"
3:09 Bwuh-? I- do- what the- sto- didju- *HUH?!?!?!?* SAMUS LAY OFF ON THE PHAZON FOR 5 FUCKING SECONDS OH MY GOD!!!
3:11 BEHOLD.. the only hype Samus clip
Can anyone explain the fox ledge laser movement? That looks super optimal and I want to try using that
I second this! 😳 That was wild lol
I don't remember how it works, but I remember the beefy smash doods had it covered in one of the smash reviews (it's in the thumbnail, so probably not too difficult to find)

its the most unoptimal stupid thing you could go for as a fox player bruh dont do try this at home
yo eevee’s popping off bro
6:21 gonna need a pause on that one bruh
ayoo-
thought pac man lowkey cooking but then he got cooked lmaooo
6:20 you love seeing him what?
5:15 INDIANA MENTIONED
Wtf how did the fox at 1:18 donc a big dash offstage ??? Can someone answer pls if you know i don't understand ??? 🤔🤔
Done* a big dash
It’s something with his neutral b but i don’t know the details
As schmovement, I can confirm my ankle was shattered.
6:21 Ayoo
1:23 what tech was that?
those short hops are so sexy af
can anyone explain the fox clip at 1:20
People say Ultimate is a slow game...
Bro. What was sophist’s spacing. That shit was crazy. 4:31
If you have a b reverse you have shmoovement
4:17 S-Sophist…?
4:44 Lol what?

Fastest I'll ever click a video

7:33 Best time to stop the video ;)
Melee > Ultimate
3:08
3:38
6:21 ?
amogus
...and what the hell is a "shmoovement"?
im uhh… 1:34 i move better than this i promise. there was another clip with wayy better movement that was a hydropump kill off the top from the same scenario… my sauce isnt with this one
although im happy to be in again. this is my coping mechanism for not getting top 3 consistently
