- Part Two of the garden tour at The Old Manor House
Enjoy a walk around the beautiful raised beds at The Old Manor House. Formerly used for growing vegetables the area had become disused and so I decided it would be a good idea to fill them with all manner of wonderful plants.
A lot of the plants have been given by friends, sourced from elsewhere in the gardens or grown from seed by myself and so the planting cost very little other than the outlay for seeds.
Four beds are used for growing colourful plants, one is for producing plants, one is for Gooseberries and herbs, one for soft fruits and the other for the production of small scale crops and cut/drying flowers.

I love how you don’t spend loads of money and buy new plants all the time. You have created something truly beautiful here Justin. You are inspiration for all of us on a tight budget 🙂
You just need a few gardening friends to borrow plants from, some seeds, compost and a patch of earth and you can create a garden for very little :-)

Yes, it was all planted from scratch this year, before it was vegetables but not enough people to eat them so it became one big garden!
