      Check out a Mission Sub 1. I have the regular and the XR. The first Ravins I held felt cheap and polymer made. I think it was an R10 and R26. The R18 does look to be higher quality. Maybe the unique design requires better materials. Regardless, Mission crossbows are heavy tanks of the highest quality and all USA made. Ravin has a bit too much imported material for me.

    Awesome review! I’ve been trying to find reviews on the R18 and I couldn’t find any. I seen a lot of comments on ravin’s FB page when they posted a photo of people saying they ordered it or were going to and I was surprised not to find any videos of it. I ordered mine and it’ll be here Thursday. My husband got him a new mission sub 1 XR but I wanted something light and compact. After my husband seen the one I picked out he was bummed he had already bought his crossbow 😂. But his is a good crossbow and has a silent crank. But the R18 looks awesome! I can’t wait to actually see it in person. I was nervous ordering a crossbow before being able to shoot it, but I’m sure I’ll love it. Thanks for posting a review!

    Thank you for this review, if you could those of us out here in UA-cam land really need a more in-depth review of this crossbow such as accuracy, and if the 350 grain (including broadhead) is the only recommended weight limit for the R 18? Is 350 grains the limit of what you can shoot out of this crossbow? Is there a heavier grain bolt for the R 18? And what kind of broad heads will shoot accurately in this R 18 crossbow, does Ravin sell a heavier bolt for this crossbow? or is this crossbow only designed to shoot this particular weight of bolt only? It would be most helpful for all of us hunters out there to know this information on this crossbow, what are the best broad heads to use with this crossbow?
    Hope you put out another video or somebody does with this important information which is not been addressed by anyone yet.
    PS. With 100 grain broadhead the bolt would weigh 350 grains including the broad head, but this weight is a little too light for deer hunting. So if 350 grains total is all this crossbow can shoot safely and accurately it may not be the best choice for deer hunting. I’m sure a 350 grain arrow can kill deer but something 50 grains heavier would probably be a better choice according to all the statistics.
    Also when hunting deer a loud crossbow is never a good thing.

    • @CagedSUPERMAN
      @CagedSUPERMAN  2 роки тому +1

      Ravin’s manual says to only shoot these 350 g bolts. It says to use mechanical broadheads because they fly better than using a fixed blade. As far as accuracy it’s dead on the money. They’ll be another video when I can get around to it.

    • @CagedSUPERMAN
      @CagedSUPERMAN  2 роки тому +1

      Yes that is a high possibility. But just like shooting a firearm it can blow up in your hand, near your face. It’s the chance we take with anything like this. The brackets that hold the limbs in place are I think far enough up that if there were a catastrophic accident that the limbs would mostly fly up in the air. Also I was told this is a new material for these limbs. But we’ll see in time what happens.

      @ the law requires at least a 130lb limb. The adder has an upgrade of 8 shot magazine that fits broad heads, a 190lbs limb and shoots at 290fps. It’s more than strong enough and faster than this crossbow. There’s a hunting video that dropped a deer using the adder, i would never think it could but he did it.
