It's a shame there's no online modes, but still, it looks fun! According to the devs' Steam blog, they are releasing a big update soon that adds new game+, a new map set in Canada with dynamic weather/time of day, new cars, and a bunch of other improvements. Thanks for the review!

I played this game on PC a while ago. It's pretty fun, but some of those time-trial events were very unforgiving. Anyone who enjoyed FlatOut 2/Ultimate Carnage will probably like this game since it's basically an unofficial sequel.I got a bit of a laugh from some of the FlatOut references, like Frank Woods being almost a carbon copy of Jack Benton; I think Woods' car is called the Benton too, but they might have changed it.
Wreckfest is technically the unofficial sequel or spiritual successor to the Flatout series since the developer of Wreckfest is Bugbear (the developer of Flatout 1, 2, & Ultimate Carnage.) Super good devs, game is rly well made. I highly recommend if u havent played it

You hit in on the head, its the most fun we've had with a racer in a long while. Definitely needs online, and more stunts but for 20 bucks, we're off to a good start. I was caught off guard with the on foot action with the zombies.
I agree, if online was there it would put this game over the top for the price!

Iv been enjoying it,good old school fun,expecially the splitcsreen mode.hope they fix the framerate on xbox though

Unfortunately, this game only works with a permanent internet connection. It doesn't even have an online mode. If this isn't fixed I will be returning the game.

I have, its got similarities for sure.
If this game can get online and an update to the driving controls, for $30 it would be a solid game.
