    Checked with KDHE, the state office for the EPA. On county land, away from city codes, burial of trash, inop equipment, building debris, is acceptable. Oil drained or not. Doesnt matter. Farmers bury stuff ALL the time. Ruined equipment, demolished buildings. Its acceptable. So to those threatening to inform the EPA, you will be wasting more money than Hoovie did burying this car, by starting a government process that dead ends in nothingness.

      In Norway you get some money back (3000NOK/~400$) if you hand your car old over to the junk jard.
      Legal or not, I think its a bad idea to burry your trash. Its like handing your problem over to someone else in the future (or to nature)
      Edit: Did not see that you will dig it back up in a year.

    Cant believe all the hate on this video. This car was physically unsafe to drive. As Ralph Nader put it, "Unsafe At Any Speed". Its body structure was so badly rusted, that no amount of patching or welding would be financially feasible. It literally could have collapsed and caused a wreck, injuring or killing someone. It was a miracle it even made it to Halstead. The scrap value is less than $200. No one wants K-Car parts anymore. Salvage yards dont stock them anymore, because they take up space, with zero profit, because nothing sells on them...at all... No one is even interested in them. The car is where every K-Car belonged from new... in a hole in the ground. One of my mechanic mentors was a 30 yr Chrysler master tech. His comment? "Im glad too see it buried, they were trash when new, and have fared no better 30 yrs later, one less 4 wheeled trash can on the road" People... stop trying to find value where there is none.
    The person Hoovie got the car from, had 11 of them.... sitting and rotting into oblivion. I didnt see any of you running to save the day, be a hero, and rescue those LeBarons.... maybe you guys should.

    Please keep in mind that I made this choice because of the terminal rust, which made this car dangerous to drive, along with the endless mechanical issues. Since these cars are very cheap, even in mint condition, it made zero sense to save this one-- and there's not really a parts demand either. Also environmentalists, I'm digging the car up in a year, so it's not going to do any more damage to this earth than sitting out in a field for a year... So place you bets, will it start when I dig it out? Thanks for watching!

      in 10 years all the sheet metal wil be disolved into flakes of rust, so there won't be much left to be saved.

    • @A13XX79
      @A13XX79 6 років тому +1

      3DPeter Im curious, what condition do you think its in right now?

    • @3DPeter
      @3DPeter 6 років тому

      it's 7 months ago, so nothing changed that much, besides the weight of the sand that crushed the roof and warped the metal panels al around.it
      It would even start when you dig it out, because that engine did run 7 months ago, so it won't be rusted on the inside yet, so clean the intake
      and a new battery and i'll bet it would start. And i don't know the ground conditions, so if there might be a level were groundwater comes up,
      because then things are going way faster alright.
      In 10 years the sheet metal wil be complete rotten and then there are the rusty thicker parts left like drive train geabox engine,
      and complete rotten carpets and faded but still intact plastics and broken glas or even still in one piece and good condition, like the door windows
      because they were down in the doors when it was buried, so they are protected for a while. Well, so far my prediction, so let's see in 10 years then.
