As for ignition parts many owners on the Morris minor owners club forum recommended the Distributor Doctor. This man has information that many of us should read.

Thanks! I'm getting the impression that there are 3 grades of condenser. Distributor Doctor at the top, the Lucas stuff in the middle and the dreadful ones that can cost three pence on ebay (or cost more but they send you the 3p ones).
Due to the more extreme winters at 600m hier in Germany and the fact that my Traveller does not have winter tyres, it goes into hibernation in the garage from November to March every year. There always seems to be something new happening afterwards.
Last year when restarting it in early April everything went fine until the first uphill - then stop. It restarted after a few tries but a day or two later at an uphill junction , conked out and would not restart.
Opened the bonnet and found a wire to the coil had come off. Easy fix but why? The spade connector had loosened and the uphill position with gravity doing its stuff used to disconnect it enough to not allow the motor to do its stuff. It was lucky that the wire came off completely otherwise I am not sure I would ever have found the cause.
I've had a lot of fun with spade connectors in the past...they're a little thing that when they fail they can cause absolute chaos!

I have a couple of points to make pardon the pun, firstly i am a big fan of all the morris vehicles, for many years i had the vans for work i also had access to the traveler,and sometime later i bought my own van, and they were all brilliant, and for many years now i have wanted to get myself another traveler, and have put it off because i thought what happens when you break down i will never be able to get the parts today in 2022,But after watching this its seems you obviously can still buy all the bit you need , thanks so much for this video this has encouraged me to start looking around , brilliant information video,PS do you keep your inside every night ,just curious ,bfn from newark notts,
Hi Peter - yes it's possible to get the parts but you have to be careful you don't get the dodgy parts - sometimes you expect the good parts but the cheap ones turn up. I keep the traveller inside at night due to the woodwork on it.
I carry onboard spares for the entire ignition system and tools to fit it. Takes far less time to fit than waiting for help.
I do generally but didn't have them in the car at the time.
Of course, fitting an electronic ignition would solve all these problems. You set it, and forget it. Except replacing the cap and rotor occasionally.
when u get ignition stuff, always get the best u can, dont buy cheap Chinese crap
You could buy good quality Chinese parts instead.
