The 40i is rated conservatively by BMW at 5.3 seconds 0 - 60, real world is substantially less than 5 seconds (C/D was 4.8 in a Pre-LCI @ 335 HP). You can also option the 40i to include the Executive Pkg, Climate Comfort Pkg, & Parking Assistance Pkg at $76,325 MSRP and get almost all the extras you mentioned in the M60i. Or add the MSport Pkg to the 40i and get it all but the motor and still get close to 30 MPG real world Hwy MPG behind one of the smoothest powertrains you'll ever find. Me, I'm skipping the MSport Pkg and ordering to XDrive 40i with the above mentioned options and adding Running Boards and the Trailer Hitch for usability, and since I prefer the satin silver trim all around. Only problem is, the 2015 XDrive 35d with HUD, HK Sound, Comfort Pkg and Parking Assistance that I have now is still too damn good and making it very difficult to part with it.
Get a g05 best of both worlds. Just came from an f15 50i fully loaded to a g05 40i m sport bare bones. Couldn't be happier. F15 feels like a old school bmw g05 give it a modern feel with a better motor.
BMW has taken its customers for a ride in the 2025 X5 40i . I have all the options of the 2025 X 5 M60 in my 2024 40i . Plus I optioned massage and ventilated front seats
What about the 50e? To me that’s the option to consider (plus the usability around town). Unless you live next to a racetrack how the hell in real world driving are you going to experience the performance of the 60i? It’s just an ego flex
I notice the 20 in wheels on the 40i are equipped with run flat tires. You mentioned there was a spare in both vehicles but didn't show it in the 40i. So are they providing a spare with a vehicle that comes with run flats? I'm not a fan of run flats, so that would give me hope that one could switch out the run flats for conventional tires and have a spare on board. BTW, I don't think I have ever seen "refrigerant" listed as a feature on a window sticker. LOL
@@VagabondBuilds Thanks for the info. Might be doing a test drive next week. I hear the X5 and some other BMW models are on sales hold due to a potential brake issue.
@ Car & Driver on the X5 M50 in 2020. “We can't really say the M50i left us wanting more power. Its scant 3.9-second zero-to-60-mph run and a quarter-mile pass in 12.4 seconds at 112 mph are impressive numbers for any 5336-pound behemoth.”
I'll take the regular one. Less money for the best luxury SUV. Another good review.
Thank you! Glad to have your opinion here…

I would say both cars are amazing machines.

Not a big 50e but it comes down to preference really. But yes, flex if you can haha 🤣

I know the 40i was missing the spare tire, but it does have room for an add on if you want the option. So I believe you can totally do the switch.

Great review guys ! I love watching ur videos
Glad you like them!
It’s much faster than 4.2 seconds to 60. It’s a BMW! My X5 M50 hits it in 3.9.
Interesting…. Not what I got when I was looking up numbers.

And everyone who knows BMW knows that they sandbag about their HP and speeds.
the 40 is not twin turbo
What is it??
Single turbo with a twin scroll - also 2:00 it has an electric motor with 48v mild hybrid set to which is important. I have one
@@VagabondBuilds Yea B58 has always been twin scroll SINGLE turbo. S58 in M2/M3/M4 are "Twin Turbo".
