Bought mine about a year ago. Put stiffer fork springs, wider foot pegs, engine guard and hand guards on it. Absolute blast to ride. My other bike is a YZ250FX. I ride my Honda way more because it is so fun.
I agree that the crf- f lineup are great begginer bikes and are fun enough for intermediate riders. As riders advance, they can move on to more capable bikes, but at a higher cost. Just great fun bikes at a descent price point.
I’ve pretty much decided on getting. I rode dirt bike for about 10 years. But that was about 45 years ago. The reason I want it is for riding on my property at about 1000’asl. But spend the summers in Colorado. All the people I know there are using UTV’s or stuff like the Polaris RZR or Kawasaki Tryx. Whisk to me are boring. But my concern Is the fuel tank. My friends ride 4-5 hours and carry spare gas. So my thing is how long can you ride. Not going full out. But on of my friends said they’d carry a fuel can if I needed them to.
I haven't actually timed it but if I were to estimate I'd say around 3-3.5 hrs of riding. Might be more but like i said I haven't timed it. It holds 1.6 gallon. Keep an eye out for companies to make oversized tanks... as of now I don't think anyone does for the crf250f unfortunately but I could be wrong.
First time riding dirt, this is my front runner, eyeing the bigger 250 from Honda and Yamaha too -but want to teach my wife. Used to a 150hp street bike, but every video I watch people with experience are still having fun. Can I ask what your out the door was, and anything to look for if I went used - there is a guy selling one for $5100 locally who claims 8 hrs on it.
i don't remember exact numbers but I financed mine and I think the total ended up being somewhere around 5400 5500. don't quote me on that. but yes, I've been pleasantly surprised with how much fun I've had on this bike
I’ve heard of people making them street legal. I would imagine the 250f street legal would be better at the off road sections than the 300L but wouldn’t be as good for larger roads. If you’re thinking of solely doing rides on small dirt back roads and off road trails, then the 250f would probably be better. The 300L would be ideal for faster roads (not highways tho) and not as good on tight single track.
Soup! About to buy one, or so I think. Rode 2 strokes 15 years ago, and Harley's my whole life. 95% of my riding will be northern BC forest trails. Watched a ton of reviews, and like the 250F. Gotta ask though..... will a guy be underwhelmed on the power?? I don't wanna race bike (R or RX), but still want power. Love to hear your thoughts!
the power of the 250f definitely doesn't feel anything like the race 4 strokes or 2 strokes. this bike would be great for cruising beginner/intermediate trails but it won't knock your socks off power wise. my advice would be to go to a dealership and see if you could test ride one first. even just around the parking lot will give you a good idea of what the power is like.
my buddy has one. very nice bike just slightly out of my price range and i was more so looking for something smaller and easy to learn on for my gf and friends. being street legal wasnt a top priority for me. but totally for a beginner who wants a dual sport the 300l is a great option!
I tried to split the difference and get a crf250rx and I take it to the track (sumo) and single track in the woods. it kind of sucks on single track though. It's just not where it shines. thinking about grabbing one of these for cheap and doing the suspension. I just want a tractor for the woods. I don't ride fast off road.
How tall are you? Would 5’6 work? I am also a kid but I ride trail with my mates but on a 110 Honda crf so I def need an upgrade so you think this would be good for me? I have been riding since I was 6 and send the biggest jumps I can find
Yeah i feel like I probably would have. If I was just looking for a bike for me I probably would have just switched my SM to a more off road setup but since I wanted something that my friends and gf could learn on i went w the 250f thanks for the comment!
@@denox420 Hell yeah love the idea! I was looking into the KLX when i was buying my DRZ400 as well. Seems like it doesnt take too too much to plate the crf250f
I was more looking to buy an air cooled trail bike that would be very beginner friendly so my gf and friends who don't ride could putt around on it. That pretty much took all the liquid cooled bikes out of the running for me. Just a bit more bike than I was looking to get. That being said, the WR's are solid bikes for sure and would be fantastic as a capable dual sport! Thanks for the comment!

Awesome to hear! I’m definitely gonna have to put some of those mods on mine

haha yes it surprised me too. thx for the comment!
How do you think it would work as a dual sport compared to a crf300l? The 300 is heavier but has more power plus a 6th gear. Thanks
I’ve heard of people making them street legal.

Of course!
Good choice, but I personally would've went with the CRF300L. 7 more hp than the 250F, and street legal to boot..

if you want a tractor in the woods look no further lol. This would be perfect for you! Thanks for the comment

i'm 6ft. you would fit perfectly on the 250f at 5'6" and the upgrade from your 110 would be awesome! i think you'll love it
You should of tried the DRZ S model you might of liked it.

@@notsoupmotodrz s weighs 330 lbs, not a fun trail bike, I have one. Also a 22 crf250f and it is way better for trails much lighter
What is the price on it?
2024 Crf250f msrp from $4999 USD
What your trying to say is that it's like a full size fun pitbike, the ol it's funer to ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow
yeah pretty much. can confirm
I have a 21 250rx, it’s no where near as fun as the 250f imo. Something about that bike, n it’s easy to ride for everyone.
cant agree more! id love to try out the rx at some point if i get the chance though
@@notsoupmoto if your ever in Tennessee or North Carolina. You can rip mine.
@@enduro_j i'll keep that in mind 😎
i want a 250f so bad. they're such a good price but i dont have the money
Highly recommend when you are able to! Such a fun bike
just plate the 250f, i daily a klx 300sm. that 250 would be sick with a plate
definitely may have to do this as some point. would be dope for motocamping
