Thanks for taking the time to put this out there. I’m a novice trail rider in the US intermountain west who is learning about this bike and weighing the cost/benefits of mods. Thanks also for all the previous videos and looking forward to more about this reliable bike in future from you.
Thank you so much for following along! I actually have an interview planned with a buddy of mine who is a novice rider as well. Just started riding ALMOST 2 years ago and getting his thoughts as well. He has the other 250F we built into a 310. You’re very welcome and again thank you so much! I’m glad you found them informative! Any questions you may have I’m here.
Informative, concise video. Nice. As promised, you addressed pretty much everything I had any questions about. Probably saved me a fair amount of cash on dubious suspension upgrades too; at least for now. Thanks for that! Regarding a replacement seat, you recommended offerings from Guts Racing, so I took a look. What exactly is the "Add Step or "Bump" option on the foam and where / how does it contact / affect the rider? This variable is new to me. Seems the 310 Rally kits are out of stock at the moment, (11/10/24) but I'm on the notification list. I'm sure Guilherme at Force Cam will have that covered in short order. I was going to start out with the 27 HP Plug & Play Combo ( ECU, Rally Cam, Exhaust) and get the 310 cylinder/piston/gaskets later, but I'm not seeing that as an option. I think such a kit would provide a nice upgrade path for those not ready, or in a position, to spring for a big bore kit out of the gate. Just a thought. Thanks again. Given the useful content and as helpful as you have been to me and others, your channel really should get more traffic. Come on all you CRF 250F enthusiastists, spread the word.
@@sansdecorum4600 Thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate it. That’s what I build this channel exactly for plus some fun rides every now and then lol So for the guts racing seat cover the step bump is what is seen on my Kawasaki if you have seen that one in the video. It’s a bump placed under the seat cover right behind where you sit in the “saddle” essentially. Keeps you in a great riding position, from sliding to far back and to me provides more stability in my riding style. For sure I’m sure the 310s will be back up and running in no time if he doesn’t already have them on the way! You can shoot him an email and get a more accurate time frame though. Guilherme is awesome! Always gets you the info and fast responses. They are truly top notch with their customer service! You also can hit him up for the added parts you’ll need to for finishing the kit. Which will be extremely simple for sure when you’re ready after the 27hp performance pack. You will love the 310 kit. I personally think it’s the best bang out there. It’s been extremely popular over the last year since promoting them. Again, I really appreciate the kind words and of course the being a friend… and telling a friend of the channel! I’m always here if anyone needs anything!
Love my 250F. I put Pro Taper Doug Henry bend bars on recently. They are a tiny bit .50" wider and feel great. This bike is a blast to ride. At 5'7" I can actually reach the ground. My YZ250FX feels like a tall rocket ship compared to this bike.
@@ThatGuy-771I’m running the shinko r525 120/100/18 it’s amazing for my type of riding. No rubbing that I can notice it’s about a inch on both sides of the tire away from the swingarm Even raced the nchsa brushy mountain race today 👍 it’s funny to see that I’m the only “trail” bike in the class 😅
@@ThatGuy-771 12 o’clock sportsman class non member, got 15’th out of 26+ in my class. My parents wanted to go watch so I felt like I shouldn’t push my luck this race so I ended up just riding at a good fun pace
@ThatGuy-771 That other guy replied first, but no rubbing at all, ive bottomed her out a few times, but the wheel has never contacted the wheel well, I also now have a lifting clevis on the rear shock so that probably helps.
Long time rider as well, I miss the Honda XR's (always had a Enduro/MX bike) and XR. Like to get a CRF250F but want to do the ECU for sure as stock bikes are super LEAN. I wish the Honda CFR250RX - was a 6 SPEED and CFR250F was a 6 speed. Also, sure wished Suzuki would build an enduro or cross country bike but don't see that happening.
Agree 210% with all that. From the 6 speed to the Zukis. I even have 2 Suzukis as well lol would love to see an Enduro bike now they’re toying in the Electric start game finally. The ECU is for sure a top notch upgrade. Really gives the bike the potential it deserves with them running so lean from the dealer.
I thought the screen was a back fire fire retardant? the XR's have them maybe lawyers make Honda put them in ??? also did the 280 kit on the good ol XR250 the way it should run from Honda!
@@noellumex7555 the screen in the airbox is supposed to protect the filter from flames aka just like you said a backfire screen BUT doesn’t do anything for ya that we or a few others on this specific bike have tested. Just like you said, a law thing for emissions I’m sure. It’s just a thick holed cheese grater behind that air filter to me. Hahah Yea the old XRs are always going to be the iconic Hondas of any time. I’m sure that 280 runs like a dream, nice and strong!
I have the bike geared different from stock. I don’t notice anything that tire caused though with a 110. Tire weight wise wasn’t a huge difference. My power hasn’t changed in my opinion. If it was a 120 rear I probably would say different

Took your advice. 310, exhaust, ECU, air box, 4.50X18 rear, 52/12 gearing on a $3600 used bike. I am a happy guy. Team INDY.
310 on this bike is awesome. So much more power and torque, yet still a trial bike. Night and day difference.

6:00 I've got a 120/90 rear tyre, insane traction, obviously it drags down the proformance a little bit, but it's worth it feeling more planted.
@@YEEHAR_Productions yea I hear some folks I’m guessing exhaust dependent mention about it rubbing a little under load. Noticed any of that at all?

How much power (or perceived power loss) gets sucked out with a 110/100/18 tyre?

How many hours on the bike?
@@ironthumb3048 so with the bore re-build I just hit 49.7 on it.
@ThatGuy-771 that bike should go 200 -300 hours without any major issues.
