Jeden z nejlepších světových bubeníků Chris Coleman (ex-Prince, New Kids On The Block, Chaka Kahn atd...) v našem studiu... Činely HCS můžete zakoupit zde: kytary.cz/bici/meinl/meinl-cin...
I bought the HCS 13 hi hats and switched the bottom to the top and top to bottom. What a big difference. They sounded much better. They are not as bad as some of you make them out to be. I bet if Meinl put a price tag of three times as much on them I bet you would like them.
Honestly y'all keep it real, these are budget symbols and they're not bad if you don't have a lot of money. Young drummers started out with shallow pockets, these are good cymbals....
hahaha everyone hating just because there cheap cymbals!...if they were expensive that would be another thing!..remember a good drummer makes pans sound like magic'
I forgot about shopping for hihats after seeing this guy play. Anyhow, I'm looking for a particular sounding hihat, that I heard on some old the Orb tracks. I asked them on Facebook, what kind of cymbals they used in some of the tracks on the Cydonia album, and so far they haven't answered back. I prefer a higher crisper sound, like the Zildjian mastersounds, but I can't afford those, so anybody have some recommendations? I've listened to a bunch of UA-cam videos, but the sound quality isn't so great.
If you're playing cover stuff and the band you cover uses brighter cymbals, then it sounds better when you use b20s. But, if you're playing original material, then whatever you play is how it's supposed to sound. Frankly, the HCS hats sound a lot like vintage K Zildjian hats from the 50's.
these cymbals sounded a lot better when used in a couple of years, the bong-ish vibe goes away and sounds more finesse, clean and bright. you all wouldn’t regret meinl hcs’ if you’re just starting out or in a limited budget, definitely recommend this.
+Jamin Richardson Hahaha! I gig locally with a full set of HCS. If I gig out country I use my Classics/Byzance set, but the HCS series are great for small venues or home practice. They're dynamic, versatile, cheap and last a long time. A lot more bang for your buck than, say, entry level Sabian or Zildjian.
Marc Watkins mine lasted like 3 months. Granted I am a hard hitting drummer and already had good cymbals on standby. I honestly just wanted to see how long they would last with me bashing them. I honestly was surprised they lasted that long! Cheers ;)
Itzbrian 117 well I would too, but the thing is Sabian B8 is equivalent to the Meinl MCS line not HCS. The B8 and MCS lines are made out of B8 bronze where as this line is brass. Brass costs half the price of B8 and so these would be equivalent to Sabian Solar cymbals, and these sound a lot better with a better range of sizes and types. So of course you'd want B8 over these but that's because B8 is a superior material and thus more expensive. These are entry level whereas B8 could easily be used at pro level and is in some cases because it can be very loud. Hope this cleared up any confusion ☺️
Seems like no one in the comments cares that these aren’t cymbals for big festivals or stuff like that, these are fucking practice cymbals for Teachers or kids and what do you expect from a crash for which you pay 60 to 80€ ?
The HCS series has some of the worst sounding crashes I've heard on an entry level cymbal. Maybe the Sabian Solar series is worse and even slightly less responsive, but they're both next to garbage.
You know he hated every minute of that
He took a long shower after...
Never seen a 16 , 18 and 20 inch splash before.
He can make ANYTHING sound amazing. Unbelievable.

meinl must have paid him so much for this
for a beginner these aren't bad! i wouldn't studio record with them. but for someone starting out. they are worth it

Vaughn Miller I hear u bro
As someone who had them when I was beginning, I can approve that they get the job done 👍
that smile at the end
18 and 20 sounds great
AWESOME DRUMMER!!!!!
I had expensive cymbals and brass cheaper ones. I like them both.....
Awesome
hahaha everyone hating just because there cheap cymbals!...if they were expensive that would be another thing!..remember a good drummer makes pans sound like magic'
na these cymbals are dead lol
He is just too fine... my goodness...
(hands u new panties)
HCS are good for starting out. I’ve now moved on to zildjan a’s and ks but these aren’t terrible cymbals

Check out the Meinl Classics Custom line. I think they sound great.
Zildjan S family are budget cymbals but still sound really good

solo lo splash e' un pochino debole , ma per il resto suona benissimo tutto :)
He didnt smile a single time be in the end, when he has the byzance series lol
So basically, there are 4 splashes there?
Good try, but not even Chris Coleman can make those cymbals sound good.
liked his own comment - b/c they sound good

Marc Watkins if you want cheap nice cymbals buy Wuhans
They are soo wrong for making him hit on those Trash Can Lids lmao
Fucking great drummer. Opinion of a random guy who came here by accident.
2:09 all stupid cymbals disappeared
I never thought you play on a China cymbal
The Crashes..not loving them, but the Hi Hats sound good.
He is basically using all splashes😂
Am I the only one who actually likes that Splash?
No i really like them
No haha I want this whole pack so bad 😂😂😂
I would suggest the mcs splash, its 45 dollars and sounds about the same, it just loses the boingy overtones which is a good thing
:)
bro is cracked at fortnite
I own a ,meinl 14 in china that cymbal iz,loud trashy may buy 16 inch next
Me am getting el,meinl,16 hcs,china
Cymbals sound mediocre but Chris is DOPE!!
Not everyone is fortunate to have nice cymbals. I’m tired of everyone talking crap about these cymbals. You use what you can afford 🤷🏾♂️
Yes, true advocate
seriously, 90% of my cymbals are Meinl, but FUCK these cymbals. That part at the end needs to be a GIF too lmao.
They sound like tin.....YUK !!!
Dude, technically, most cymbals do sound like tin. They sound like 20% and 8% tin to be exact. But brass is... Well, brass sounds like ass.
+Gary Targus there's 10-12% too with zidjians b10-12's but yeah lol they are tin smh
Horrible overhead mic placement is not helping the cause here
lmao only the splash sounds alright
whaouh!!!!... sound like like a casserole
Seems like no one in the comments cares that these aren’t cymbals for big festivals or stuff like that, these are fucking practice cymbals for Teachers or kids and what do you expect from a crash for which you pay 60 to 80€ ?
Hahahah HCS??
when I hear these cymbals with mics, it makes me cringe cause they sound way worse without studio work
Those cymbals sound like pure garbage.
Victor Delgado it's the aim
im sorry but the hcs line is just horrible.
yeah it sounds pretty crappy, reminds me of the cheap sears cymbals haha
The splash sounds okay, slightly above the price point at least. But my god those crashes and hi hats sound awful.
These sound horrible, Id rather have ZBTs or even worse ... B8's...

Those cymbals sound...well..awful
