    Yard looks great! I wouldn't bother upgrading the peat moss spreader just to use it once or so a year, but thats just me. You do what you feel is best. Id rather skip using it than upgrade if its not fast enough 😅😂

      Yeah, If I’m just doing my lawn I probably wouldn’t upgrade.
      Come spring time I’ll be helping some friends and family with their lawns. So a larger one would come in handy.

      Hello, here I am a new subscriber. I am new to this and I want to renew my lawn. I have bare areas. I would like to know if I can put seed at this time or not since winter is coming soon. I am in the Virginia area.@@locustgrovelawncare

      @@JoseGonzalez-kc8sg If you put seed down now, it wouldn’t have enough time to fully grow in with the weather changing.

    Is it healthy to dethatch monthly or once or twice a year??

    • @locustgrovelawncare
      @locustgrovelawncare  Місяць тому

      If you’re using a dethatching machine, no more than twice a year.
      But if thatch builds up more often, you can use a dethatching rake. It would put a little less stress on the lawn.
      The one I have is the Groundskeeper II, which does a pretty good job without damaging the lawn.

      If the yard needs it. If you don’t bag your grass, you may need to dethatch once a month during the growing season.

      @@debbiebrock2665 thank you so much for the response I do have a dethatcher with both the scarifier and the dethatcher and I was afraid of using it because I have never used it I've owned this property for 5 years and I think it's time that I start somewhere some people say don't do it in the the fall they're saying do it in Florida around the end of February but I don't really know much about it I'm still getting to know how to do things so I thought I'd go a little scarifying with a high setting it has five settings I figured I would start on the highest and go slow cuz I know it's definitely going to need it I will crawl into this one I really do appreciate you taking the time to respond thank you so much

    What would you use for the spot treatment? How soon after seeding?

    • @locustgrovelawncare
      @locustgrovelawncare  Місяць тому +1

      I would recommend doing spot treatments after you mowed your lawn at least twice. And what I use for that is Roundup for lawns.

    Where did you get the seeds from?

      I ordered it directly from the company. But some local stores might have it.

    That dethatcher doesn’t look like it did anything

      Yeah, I had mentioned there wasn’t as much thatch in the lawn since I did do some of it by hand in the summer.
