So how is the spring-rig working out? Would be easy to try a different spring in order to modify the force I have to do about the same thing on my F350 since the pedal return coil spring inside the ebrake assembly FELL OUT after jambing the assembly up to the point the pedal would not budge from the released position (better to be sure, than the applied position). Of course, Ford has discontinued the entire assembly.
I had the same problem. I found the parking brake cables were too slack and not pulling that parking brake foot pedal back up. The reason the cables were slack is the mechanism the cables pull on was rusty and not pivoting the way they are supposed to. The repair didn’t cost any money, just the time to disassemble, wire wheel & lube the parts then reassemble.
Man, I CANNOT, for the life of me, understand why in the hell they made carpet in trucks standard!!! shouldn't it be an option? i mean i love all the creature comforts like heated seats n steering wheel, navigation all that but, carpet always ends up getting wrecked and its so hard to get clean! Anyway, thats my (first) rant of the day
Thanks for locating the tactile switch. That noise was killing me.

Dude. Great fix. Saved me a big headache. Thanks!!!
Good video. But I'm confused why you didn't replace the stretched front cable.
OMG dude! That took Sooooo LOooong!
Nice, I have this issue too but I just pull the release and pull up with my foot at the same time and the light goes off everytime.
I dig the guitar, what is it?

That's a lot of time and extra work. Just put a stronger spring on and done. Or just pull the pedal up with your foot when you pull the handle...
Field trip!!!
DUDE! Pull the weather strip BACK before you start removing panels behind it!

Maybe this is the permanent solution to this problem of yours? :
Less than $2? Your time is free?
Not worth watching. This kid doesn’t know what he’s doing. Ever think it could be the switch in the first place
